Sept 13-16, Rituals, Diamonds, sausage dresses and football

Hubby and I flew out of Austin on Friday the 13th, last flight out, we were delayed about 45 minutes. This is our annual trip to bet on college football. This is where hubby usually excels and I was hoping he was going to have the gambling trifecta for 2013 since his other 2 trips this year he had done better than me.

I have always had a departure day ritual until this year. I would stop @ Einstein Bros. for an egg white breakfast sandwich, than when I get home I have a half of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, then a Baileys and coffee on the plane. In january I started weight watchers so on my previous 4 trips this year I skipped my ritual and hubby has done better than I have SO I decided since I've been @ goal since
July, it was ritual time, I needed my mojo.

We landed and head to baggage claim and found our driver from Presidential and out bags were among the first on the carousel. We try to use the same driver every trip if we can, it's nice to see a familiar face at the airport. Off to Paris to check in, we had a comped premier red room for 4 nights. Still enjoying the line cuts because of our platinum card, we had key to room 2794' we had the best view of the Eiffel tower, pool and fountains. It was late, after 10:30 Vegas time and we were on a mission, and hungry, so we quickly unpacked. First stop, TR booth to ask what exactly the 24 hour period was to earn the extra tier credits. My mission for the weekend, Diamond, hubby's, parlays. We were told 6:00 a.m. to 5:59 a.m.. That should be doable. Next stop, Paris sports book for parlay cards and stat sheets. Final stop, Burge
Brasserie.
Oops, hit the wrong button!
We ordered tea, waitress went back, then came out to tell us they were out of tea. Really? How does a restaurant run out of tea? We ordered and looked over our parlay options and tried to make some picks while we waited for dinner. Burgers were good, as usual, our bellies were full so we were off to Ballys to play some slots to try to get at least 500 tier credits on my card so I got the 125 bonus at least. We went to high limit so hubby could play top dollar and I sat down at the king cash machine that hasn't been good to me in awhile. We both stuck in our $100 bills and proceeded to play. I kept telling my machine "here kitty kitty" and then I'd get 3 lions and get a bonus. Hubby accumulated nearly 200 tier credits for me and then sat and laughed at me while I talked to the kitties on my machine. I played quite awhile and got over 300 tier credits so we basically lost $200 and earned 625 tier credits. Not too bad for a couple of hours. We them went to play 3 card poker and pretty much left the table even after about an hour and a half. It was after 2:30 and the Oklahoma game started @ 9 a.m. so we had to get up early to make our bets before the game started. On our walk from Ballys to Paris we encountered our first group of girls in their sausage dresses....more on this later.

We got to our room and watched some of the concert by the pool @ Cosmo. We could see it on the jumbo screen out front and with the windon vents open we could hear some of it. Not sure who it was. We filled out our parlay cards, I did 3 - 3 game and 1 - 4 game, plus I was making 3 individual bets in Oklahoma (thanks Bob Stoops for covering the spread), Alabama (thanks Nick Saban for beating A&M even though you didn't cover the spread) and Old Miss (thank you Mack Brown for losing!). Hubby only did parlays, one 12 game, 2 - 6 game and 3 - 4 games. Picks made, forms filled out, time to go to bed.

We woke up after about 4 hours sleep, got ready and went to the sports book. Made our bets, said hello to Vincent (at a different window in the sports book), then went to the coffee shop in Paris for breakfast. I had the waffle and berries, hubby had some weird egg "sandwich". He said it was ok, nothing special. Mine was delicious. We made a quick trip to the ABC store in PHo for diet dr pepper and 7 up ten and it was back to the room for the OU/Tulsa game. I caught the maid in the hallway and told her she didn't need to clean our room, just give us towels so she came in, put towels up, restocked my coffee and emptied the trash in the bathroom. I tipped her and thanked her for taking care of us.

Football time.....now at home, depending upon the locations of the games, we can watch 13 hours of college football on any given Saturday. Well, hubby can, I usually watch about 7 hours, run errands and nap. Today my errands would be running to Ballys during half time of games to see
how many tier credits I can accumulate. I was going for it, all I needed to get to diamond was to earn the 2500 tier credits and get the 5000 tier credit bonus and I would easily be diamond.

More tomorrow.
