Sept.24-30 Four hotels in six nights

9-24 Finish long day of work pack and then we make one hour trek from home to Courtyard Airport North for our overnight accomadations. Paid with 10,000 Marriot points and we will also leave car here for duration of trip. Stopped on the way for dinner at a local Mexican restraunt. Pitcher of margaritas and we call it a night.

9-25 Up early for our 7:00am'ish SWA flight. Paid for one with points the other was compliments of companion pass. Score exit row seats for our 4 hour flight.
Once we deplane our uneventful flight we grab our bags and I send my wife off in a cab to Lake Las Vegas for a work conference and I catch Grey Line Shuttle to Gold Coast. the wife is in her room in Lake Las Vegas and I am still on shuttle bus dropping off all over the strip. Once I reach my destination I walk right up to front desk and score an early check-in (9:45). Room 875 overlooking the Palms and South Strip.
After short nap head down to casino. Less than 10 minutes at a Buffalo machine I get a bonus round and walk away with a $300 win. Over to the Palms I go. Mid afternoon lunch buffet was very underwhelming.
After lunch over to the FPDW where I play for about four hours on a $20 and finally cask out $40. Next move was not so good. I got sucked in to Willy Wonkas world and after about 30 minutes I lost that $40 dollar ticket along with two more Benjamin's. Take the walk of shame back to Gold Coast and decide it would be a good idea to play dice for a bit. But in for $100 and the fun begins. Up and down I go back and forth this way and that way. Way to many Bud Lights. I actually played at this table with a $100 buy in for over 8 hours. I finally walk or stagger away with $80 and stumble up to 875 and call it a night.

9-26 I wake up around 1:00 pm and start my day. I play a few different Buffalo machines and again turn a small profit of about $100. Decide to go to Orleans for Mexican and Margaritas for lunch. Fail. Closed for remodel. Now what. Buffalo of course. Sit down deposit a $20 and first spin bonus at max bet I cash out $368. Now I guess I can afford Mexican meal on the strip. Taxi to New York New York $15 after tip. Walking in find a Buffalo deposit $20 cash out $30. Green machine takes this ticket and yields nothing in return. Lunch consists of enchilada plate and to many Margaritas at Gonzales Ye Gonzales. $74 ouch.
Still needing swim trunks for the pool I take the bus to Outlet Mall South. No luck on trunks as I am a 42 inch waist and nothing over a 38 in this whole freaking place. Bus back to strip and exit at Paris. Walk to Cromwell as my plan is to crossover to Caesars and catch bus back to Gold Coast. All of the heat and the idea of a refreshing drink into the Cromwell I go. Sit at the bar deposit $20 and order up a very tasty Margarita. $2 tip cash out and mosey around looking for a machine to put this $20 ticket into. Uh oh, Hangover. Goodbye $20 Goodbye $100, Goodbye $100, goodbye $40. Wow that was a bad idea. only one bonus round to the tune of $13. Hello Buffalo, insert $20 cash out $72. Move over one machine insert $72 cash out $220. Let's get the heck out of here. Damn craps table right on the way to the front doors. Buy in $100 play for about 30 minutes have to Bud Lights and cash out $105.
Finally cross over to Caesars and catch the RTC back to Gold Coast. Ok just a little bit of video poker then shower and clean up for dinner. Go to high limit room and sit down at $1 9/6 JOB. Good Bye $200 in five minutes. Not even time for a beer. Walk over to bar to get a beer and deposit $20 get beer and cash out $40.
Back to $1 JOB and low and behold I start getting some play here. Cash out around an hour later at $200 and get the heck out of there. Now I really need to go to 875 clean up and find dinner. Oh you have got to be kidding me Buffalo!! Sit down deposit $20. gone try again and hit a small bonus and cash out $60. Move over a few machines and hit a whole bunch of Buffaloes and score over an $800 ticket. Wahoo excited now I head over to craps table and start again. After slowly depositing $100 after $100 by 3:00am I have returned about $700 back to the Gold Coast. Good night. Moving day in the morning.

9-27 Wake up around 9:00am. Still have 24 hour bus pass so cross Flamingo Rd. to catch bus towards strip.
Drop off at Ballys and crossover to Bellagio. Walking south past the lake looking for bus stop and finally get to it at the Cosmopolitan. Ride bus back to Las Vegas Premium outlets. Exit bus and flag down taxi that finally drops me off at McCarren car rental depot. After over an hour in line at the dollar rent a car counter I get my car. Jump in car and back to Gold Coast to get my luggage.
Now I am off to the Westin Lake Las Vegas to join the wife and her co-workers. Stop at Westin pick up wife and head to get lunch in the Village. After two pitchers of Margaritas at $52 each I am feeling no pain. Thank goodness for expense accounts. After catching up with wife we head back to Westin. Sit poolside with everyone from meetings then it is time to get ready for dinner.
Tonight's dinner is at Lunar Rosa. The company events planner actually planned this whole conference and dinner around this place, as tonight was the night of the Red Moon eclipse. Enjoyed many bottles of wine and just an average meal. Had a great time meeting these people that I hear about all the time but have never met until tonight.

9-28 Check out of Westin and head back to Vegas. We end up at Red Rock Casino and end up depositing $300 in there machines. We have lunch at Lucilles BBQ. A must for me every trip. I had the tri-tip as always and The wife had 1/4 chicken and Burnt ends. After lunch and a couple of Margaritas we head for downtown.
Park at MSS and have to pay$3. We head into casino and play .25 JOB for quite some time. Eventually losing $100. Take a nice long and relaxing stroll through downtown. Visited many casinos making small donations to each one. Get free picture with $1,000,000 at Binions. Enjoy a few beers at a couple different casino bars. We finally make our way back to MSS and the coin dropper 9/6 JOB. I now have a plan. We put in $100 get it up to $110 and cash out. Repeat and cash out $90. Repeat and cash out $160. Repeat and cash out $80. Cash in our three $2 scratch tickets and lug these quarters out to the car. Straight we go to Ellis Island. We walk in straight to the coin sorter machine and dump these quarters in. $441.25? not sure how the $1.25 got in there. Take ticket to cage and get $480 free play loaded onto my players card and $41.25 in cash. Over to the .25 JOB and download free play. Run this all through one time, which they make really easy with a countdown right on the machine and cash out $526.25. Cash and go. Finish night at In and Out Burger. Check into Orleans around 10:00pm and call it a night.

9-29 Last day in Vegas. Todays goal is to get $800 in quarters so that we can both do the Ellis Island promo.
Stop at cage in Orleans on way out to car and ask for and get $60 in quarters. Sir you know our machines don't accept quarters. Yes thank you. Out to car and drive over to Palms. I wait and wife runs in to cage and buys $100 quarters. Over to Gold Coast $100 quarters. On our way to breakfast at Original House of Pancakes wife sees a US Bank and says pull in. She goes in and comes out with a whole freaking box $500 quarters. We finally get breakfast and still need $40 more in quarters. On our way down Flamingo she runs in to another bank and picks up the remaining quarters. Straight to Ellis Island. Dump $400 in change machine twice and head to cage with our two vouchers. two minutes later we both have $480 free play loaded onto our cards. .25 JOB and we play all $960 through and cash out $925.
Mission complete. Next up free shirts at Gold Coast. Walk into high limit room sit down at $1 9/6 JOB proceed to put 300 points on both players cards along with a $90 profit. go to get shirts and find out not until 2:00. It is now 1:15. Buffalo!!! Goodbye $100 and again and again. Damn expensive shirts. Finally nearing 2:00 so we get into long line fro shirts. line goes very quickly but no 3x shirts. mission complete.
Off to Red Rock for lunch at Lucille's BBQ. I get tri-tip again and wife gets baby backs and burnt ends. After lunch we are sitting and finishing our margaritas and discussing the last few hours of our trip. We decide the wife has one more opportunity to do the Ellis Island promo.

Wife goes to cage at Red Rock while I am drinking another margarita in Lucille's. She comes back and says they won't sell her any quarters. Well banks are now closed so we head back downtown to MSS. Proceed to .25 9/6 JOB coin droppers and begin to play. We play for hours cashing out here and there amassing our $400 quarter stash. Finally after we have had enough we call it quits and take our quarters and head back to the Orleans for bed.

9-30 Up and out of the Orleans by 5:00am. Straight to Ellis Island we go. We carry in what I think is way to many quarters. Some how, maybe to much alcohol, we had $502.50 in quarters. Wife takes voucher to cage an the woman is having all kinds of trouble figuring out this transaction. Well when all is said and done we should have had $480 free play and $102.50 cash. But we got $605 freeplay and zero cash. Score!!!
Back to .25 JOB and we turn the $605 free play into $707.50. We cash out and get the heck out of there.
Time to take the car back after a quick stop to fuel it up. Check in for 9:10 flight back to Cleveland through Chicago. Breakfast and margarita's quick stop at snack shop and it is time to board the plane. Looking out the window I say my goodbyes to the city as we fly over. See you in January.

Sounds like you two had good luck gambling! Did you keep track of your profits?? Sure sounds like a fun time! Thanks for sharing your trip. I think I may accompany you next time! Gail
We did come home with a couple hundred more than we took.
We always have a great time in Vegas. Win or lose.
I thought I was frugal, good job. Best of you you go to have fun. I had an awful meal at Lucilles but I think I will have to head back.

great TR thanks for posting
Great report. The last for sharing.

Can you please explain this promotion at Ellis Island? If I'm reading correctly you cash in $400 in quarters in a coin counter machine and can then get $480 in free play loaded onto your card as free play? That's awesome! Is there a time limit on this or is it ongoing? How often can you do this?

Thanks in advance.
You are reading the Ellis Island promo correctly. Problem is it ended at the end of Sept. You were only allowed to do it twice during the month and was supposed to be capped at 400/480 each time but some how we lucked out and did 500/600 for our last time. It was actually a great promotion where a couple could pick up $320 in free play.
thanks for the report. sign up at dollar on the web. no more lines. just go to your car.
You guys did so great converting coins into cash and then Free Play and then cash again!
Thanks for the fun TR.
Good info in report Thanks
