Short thoughts from wife’s 65th birthday trip.

Stayed at Rampart 3 days, Southpoint 3 days. Daughter went as well, she was total comp, we paid for one night at South Point. Ate the buffet at Rampart for "half price" on Presidents' Day. No great loss that they didn't re-up in the LVA rewards. It's become very average for the price.

Did the downtown run Tuesday. Match plays from the D for SWA tickets, plus LVA  at $10 BJ table. Match plays from prior Allegiant tickets, LVA at Golden Gate $10 craps table. Neither place busy. But we do the downtown run before noon.
Had lunch at Victory Burger in Circa which has kinda become our go to for the past year or so. My favorite burger in Vegas. Also helps that the D has been generous with their food credits monthly since we stayed there once about 2 years ago.

Flowing Tide for taco Tuesday dinner. Good tacos. Easy $20 for $20 play new sign-up.

Wednesday was lobster day. Notes in dining.

Thursday was Henderson day. Notes in gambling

Friday picked up some free play from Cosmo. They send that out about quarterly after we stayed there once. Park in the garage less than 1 hour it's free. Thanks.

If you have a car when you're in Vegas the North/South Rampart/South Point plan works well. However, if not I wouldn't recommend it.

Still like South Point the best overall, but if I didn't have a car would consider The D because they have some reasonable rates on occasion and continue their offers a while afterwards.

South Point is pretty crowded at times.

Have used Fox for the rentals last few years, no problems. This trip returned the car, Ubered back to South Point, then South Point shuttle to airport dropped off right in front of SWA.

Love Henderson. But you can't be in a hurry and if you like the strip don't even bother, it's not for you.

My top three reasons for playing in Henderson:

1. It's not the Strip.

2. It's not the Strip.

3. It's not the stinking gougefest Strip.

I spent a day at Rampart on my last trip.    It was a nice, laid back environment compared to the Strip and downtown.    I was actually surprised by the number of out-of-towners staying there.  I thought it was mostly a locals joint.    Seemed popular with the asian folks.

I really enjoyed their sportsbook - not so much because it had the biggest screens but because it was easy to get a good seat on NFL Sunday.     Noted for future trips.

I like staying at Rampart.  Rooms are nice, landscaping is gorgeous, and pool is different from most Vegas pools in that it's nice, but not over the top, and not a party pool.

Very nice TR, good info on Rampart which I've known zero zip about.  Tacos sound good.  Thanks for reporting, and Happy Birthday to your wife!
