This was just a quick weekend trip for a bingo tourney @ Ballys. When I called to make my reservation, Ballys was booked and Paris wasn't offered so I made my reservation @ Flamingo. I haven't stayed @ Flamingo in over 12 years so I wasn't sure what I'd find. My niece was going with me and my sister too, sister had a red room @ Paris so we bunked with her. We arrived late from Austin, about 8:40 and made our way to Paris via Presidential. We checked into sisters room and went for burgers @ Le Burger Brasserie. Niece and I split a turkey burger and fries, sister had some Ham and cheese sandwich appetizers. We got the mix of 3 fries, steak waffle and sweet potato. Not a fan of the waffles bit the others were good. So was the strawberry mojito.
We had to check into my room @ Flamingo to get the tourney stuff so off we went. Niece was impressed with the perks of platinum, not having to wait in line. My room was on the 26th floor overlooking the pool, a remodeled room with a pink bathroom, and white tufted headboard that looked vinyl. It was an interesting room bit we wouldn't be staying.
Gambling was really spotty this trip, didn't do much actually. We didn't win @ bingo or slots. Tables @ Ballys and Paris were $10 because of March madness so I played some but not much. We had dinner reservations @ Center Cut and used the 20% off in the MRB. Service was good, food so so. Ballys steakhouse is MUCH better. Between the 3 of us we had 2 caesars, 2 8oz filets, asparagus, garlic mashed pots and a baked pot. The steaks were bacon wrapped which I'm not a fan of. As I said, the meal was just so so, would not go again even with a coupon.
Niece had a ticket to Daniel Tosh @ Mirage so we steered her in the right direction. Sister and I had BOGO
For Diva's @ the Quad. The really cool thing was on our way to the Quad it was 8:30 and It was Earth Hour so many of the casinos lights outside were out. It was pretty weird to see it dark from Caesars to Mirage and others along the strip. I probably won't see that any other time so it was a neat experience.
Divas was great. I saw Frank Marino's old show @ the Riv about 12 years ago and enjoyed this one as much as the other. Nice to have the BOGO, but I think I actually would have paid full price for it. Niece said Tosh was really good too.
As I said, there was not much gambling this trip, not as much as I planned to do but sister was trying to show niece all she could in a short time so we wandered a lot. Then we flew out at the crack of dawn on Sunday. Oh well, I'll be back next month with my other niece, we have tix to Bon Jovi. Hopefully next report will be more eventful.
