Shreveport Poker Trip

We made the trip Sunday to Sam's Shreveport.

Laura hit the slots Davinchi Diamonds and Monopoly. She made a $200 donation to Sam's

I went next door ro the El Dorado (formerly Hollywood). I hit the poker room. The poker manager remembered me and greeted me warmly.

I played in a conservative, (tight manner.) I managed a $20 profit after 4 hours. I went back to the hotel to eat and rest.

I did try $100 in a $5 video poker machine at Sam's. It was a multigame, Game King #I2005. The first two hands locked up after being delt and did not allow a draw. Bummer. The next hand paid some to bring it back to $125. Then down hill to O.

Later I donated and additional $20 in Davinchi Diamonds so I could play by my significant other. By the way it was 15X points day.

Back to the poker games at the El Dorado. This time the four hours paid off with a win of $527. It brought me up to a profit of $127 for the trip including Laura's losses and mine.

We headed home Monday after Laura watched the Bachelor.

Alls well a small profit for the trip.

I saw they were doing 15x points this month - that'll add up nicely. Tell Laura to check and make sure she gets them (they're supposed to post 24 hours later). The last couple times I was there on 10x days, the points didn't show up and I had to e-mail them about it. They were quick to fix it though.

I usually go by myself, but my husband will be going with me in a few weeks. He's running in a 10k race in Tyler the next day - should make a nice visit. I'll be sure to write a trip report.

Thanks John for the report! I'm happy that Team dfwgambler came back with some profit and I wonder if you could have spoken to casino staff about the machine sticking and not letting you hold anything with your two dealt hands since two $25 hands is not an insignificant amount of money. I would be a very unhappy camper if that happened to me!
