We had an unevental trip going to Sams. I was driving, Laura said, like a cop (It was a lifetime ago I was one)to get there as if we arrived by 9pm Laura would get "2000 points".
Laura reached 300,000 points this trip. She is now "Emerald" level.
She entered a slot "tournament" and came in within the top 20 and "won" $250 slot dollars. There were about 250 who entered.
She played Cashman mostly. She made a "donation" to keep the lights on at Sams. L stayed within budget.
I went to the El Dorado (Sams does not have a poker room.) to play poker. I won $53 in one session and $193 in another.
I stopped in the Horseshoe to renew the date on my points for the future. I played 50c three play poker. I left with $101 (started with $100.)Played about 2 hours.
I played some video poker and some "Cashman" at Sams. Lost $100 on these over the weekend, made a large number of "points though. Played blackjack on a $5 table and won $10 after about two hours. The most interesting hand was when I was delt two Aces then saw another Ace and a 2 and 7 (three clubs)on the river. Next two cards 2 and 9. Betting was by the other player , a third dropped out. The other player had a flush with a King high. The other guy went all in on his flush. I followed all in. I won with my Full House AAA22.
Read a good book over the weekend.
Uneventful trip home (at the speed limit).
Report: The new Margaritaville casino looks like it could be completed by summer. Just across the river from Sams. The builders don't seem to be working on it 7 days a week as they were before. Don't see any signs of the parking garage yet.
The hosts at Sams were great as usual. Used a room offer and a $50 food coupon in the steakhouse. Aphridita was our server, she has become a friend and we always ask for her as our waitperson.
