Silverton/Hotel 32 February 17 - 20

Dan,
Love the ripping the tip in half trick. I can see having fun with that with all my Vegas tipping:
Maid-1/2 a $20 and a note that if I was happy with the service the other half will be left at check out.
Cocktail waitress- The other half when I am done gambling if the service deserves it.
Blackjack Dealer-If I get up a winner (I know they can not cheat for you but sure would be fun walking with the other half due to a loss!)
Bartender-When did they ever get a chance at a $20 tip?

Having fun just thinking about it.
Mare, Very nice Trip Report.

Two Royals !!!!!! at once on Five Play ...... How Lucky are You ????

Thanks for taking the time to write and share.

Rick
Connecting on multiple royals is always a treat - glad to hear you had a winning trip!

" I asked the suite assistant on duty about the Kiehl’s products. He said they were waiting for their shipment and were just using the standard products for now, but went on to say that they had some in reserve and he would have them sent to our room. "
Once again kind of a bait and switch gambit w/ the rooms being so-so-- Did they ever come to your room w/ the Kiehls products?
That would BE a selling point w/ me, for sure
- a sock behind the bathroom door~~~~ Gosh, what a turn off/ ick!

Glad you had a winning trip and got to see show(s). I remember that Robin Trower Album too/fun.
Hugos, when it's good, is very good! I haven't ever been hungry enough to appreciate it yet

Mare, fun report!!!

Nice that you hit 2 Royals on a 5 play and even got
a straight too! LOL

Hey, Hotel 32 sounds NOT good! LOL
They have been sending me offers for there but now
reading your report...

Too bad that sock was not a clean one. Then maybe...

Here 's my method on getting your car quicker:

Catch one of the guys as he comes up to the window
and tell him you are in a hurry, giving him the money.
It's not as good as having your car in front but you
will get it pretty fast.

Thanks for writing!!!

Thanks, Cyndee! I like Silverton, but I'm not normally lucky there, so it's on my list of places to put behind me. If you do decide to stay ask for one of the renovated rooms, they're very nice! There's not much in the way of good VP there -- if you look closely you can see the paytable on the game I was playing was either 9/5 or 8/5 (I can't remember).

Dan -- darn right I'm greedy! LOL I hope when it happens to you you're on a dollar machine or higher! And that was my thought, exactly, when I caught the two royals so close after being bumped out of the possibility for the progressive -- a good consolation prize!

We really like Sundance, too. I do believe we've had some not-so-great meals there over the years, but for the most part, they've been good. I agree with you about Hugo's, too -- stick with what you know. And now we will definitely stick with medium rare Beef Wellington. That really was outstanding!

I've never been a big Monte Carlo fan, either, but really wanted to try Hotel 32 because I, like you, thought it was supposed to be on par with the Skylofts experience (even though it was not a suite). I was very disappointed and actually wished that we had just stayed at Silverton. (I'm sure Rick wishes we had, too.)

D.Vino was surprisingly good! But $15 for a beer was a little much, even if it was Italian. lol With my limited play I doubt I"ll be getting offers decent enough to get me back there and I won't pay for Diablo's, so I kinda doubt I'll get to experience it. We have great Mexican food right around the corner, though, so it's not my priority in Vegas.

I love the "rip it in half" idea!!!!!

Keith -- I had quite a few $100 tips as a bartender back in the 80s (when I was cute! lol).

Thanks, Rick! I thought I was pretty darned lucky, for sure!!!

mnracer -- thanks!

JM -- yes, they did bring the Kiehl's products up. The next day I wrote a note to the maid with her tip and asked for Kiehl's -- she left one of each. I thought bait and switch immediately, too. You can't advertise one type of product and then leave total garbage instead and get away with it! The sock was really dirty and wadded up. Gross. I took 2 tissues to pick it up with and drop it in the trash can. Gawd knows what was on that thing! Ick.

Thanks, Jerry! If your offers are for a suite at Hotel 32 you might want to give it a try, but the regular "Studios" aren't worth it. I like your valet idea!
Let's all guess what was on that sock!

I do not want to go 1st though.
I should have taken a picture. LOL
mare
what was the name of the $15 Italian beer? I hope you can remember.
No hand pay on your 2 royals
Yes, it was a $2007.50 W2G.

Sorry, I don't know what the name of it was. It was shaped like a wine bottle. The receipt just says Btl Itl Amber 15.00. I tried to find a phone number for the restaurant to ask, but there isn't one listed on the web site... and no beer list.

Edited to add: Scott just spoke with the bartender at D.Vino. It was Re'l.
