Soaring Eagle Day Trip

Having read all the Hit em all reports has really made me antcy to go to Vegas, so I did the next best thing last night and I rode to the Soaring Eagle. I paid $26.00 for a seafood buffet of which I ate 1 plate with some peel and eat shrimp, some snow crab legs, some stone crab claws and some raw clams or mussels. For dessert, I tried two different kinds of cake.
After dinner, I hit the BJ table and proceeded to lose $60 in about 30 minutes. I don't know why I can't have a decent winning streak in BJ there, but it is way overdue.
I was back on the rode again and home by 7:45. It's about a 50 minute ride to the Soaring Eagle, so I was actually on the rode longer than I was in the casino. That wasn't a problem for me, because it was a beautiful night for a ride.
We have found out that the machines are not hitting lately. Standish is just as tight at Mt Pleasant. It is to bad that Standish doesn't have table games just the computer type.

Sounds like the buffet was good but as good as Mirage as Wynn for a few dollar more.
I have only been to the Mirage buffet, but the Soaring Eagle Buffet isn't that great I went on Seafood night. The rest of the week is standard buffet fare and really not that great.
I am heading out tomorrow for Soaring Eagle. They do have some good packages. 199. and you get $50 free play and $25 food credit each . So I figure the room is costing. me $25.00 . I am very good at rationalizing LOL. We do this once a year on the way to a friends in Falwell and have a blast. I hope my luck is better than yours was. We eat at the steak house for Happy hour. Reasonable food , drinks and good desserts ( a plus with our group).

good luck have fun at soaring eagle. machines are tight in Detroit lately also.
Thanks for the report! It's too bad that you couldn't get anything going with Blackjack but I guess that you could have lost more $ in that period of time. I know that sometimes things just go downhill and do not recover enough (if at all)! How many decks and what rules were offered?

It's been quite a while but I have (a few times over the years when they had a playable enough Blackjack game) gone to an Indian Casino about 100 miles one-way away from me to be there for about an hour or so for some Blackjack and Video Poker play and then leave to go home.
