Sooo Disappointed in GVR

Do they have "Go" rooms at Harrah's Las Vegas also or are they called something else there? Thanks.
The only GO rooms are at the Flamingo. Harrahs has numerous upgrade rooms, you can view those on their website.
we left GVR in 2007 and have only been back to eat and gamble once, and it was a brutal experience... Locals must be keeping them afloat...?
Received an email survey about my visit from GVR this morning. I replied candidly but politely, complimented them on rooms and buffet, but poor service. Stated I had asked for (3) things during my stay:

1) Room ready at a reasonable time for a property who was at 50% occupancy.
2) To use the buffet coupons that were offered to me by Stations and
3) To apply the points I had earned toward my hotel bill.

I think any reasonable service level could have avoided problems with any, if not all, of these.

I did receive a similar email survey from the Flamingo several days ago and complimented them on their service. I always try to complete these surveys, this was the first negative I've done in many years, can't think of the last one. Hopefully it will help a future guest, which won't be me.

Sorry about your poor treatment at GVR. I do know whenever I can score a Go room at the Flamingo, it always puts me in a better mood.
I don't know about this Statons Bucks thing, but we have also been denied using any points less than the full amount to pay for a room at GVR. I wouldn't go converting my points to Stations Bucks at GVR unless I was certain you could use them in that manner there.

These promos can be maddening. We just got back from Santa Fe Station, where we had coupon books they used to give out upon check in. These coupons have no expiration date, but last time my husband was there he had some trouble using them. So we checked with the nice lady at the front desk upon check-in, to see if we needed to just toss them. She said no, they were still usable, that it had even come up in a recent meeting and the manager told them they must honor the coupons. We had a 5x points we wanted to use in particular, so she called the slot club and they confirmed the coupons were still good. We turned it in without any problems and got our 5x points for that day on my husband's card. The next day I went back to the slot club to turn in the point multiplier coupon on my card. The lady at the booth ripped the coupon up in my face and told me they were no longer valid, even though I tried to explain what happened just the day before and even gave her names of employees. She didn't even want to hear me. On the third day of our stay, my husband decided to give it one last shot. This time the lady on duty at the slot club told us that any multiplier on the coupon would have been automatically uploaded to the kiosk (this has NEVER been the case with this coupon). We just looked at each other and walked away. Three different days, different employees, different answers. And one very rude employee that didn't even respect me enough to listen.
Queenanne, I feel your pain. It certainly puts a damper on your vacation time, doesn't it?

i'm very disappointed the casino host didn't even recommend I convert points to Station Bucks. The only thing I heard from anyone there was NO. No matter, I still have my points and may use them at RR in the future. I'm getting the buffet coupons in the mail finally, I think I'll be using those frequently on my upcoming trips, with no play.
Glad you had a good stay at Flamingo.
You deserved that GO room score!

GVR: Sounds like there is still the annoying disconnect between hotel management and players club management, which we noticed the few times we stayed there. Such a beautiful property, too bad about the bad vibrations.

Thanks for the report. GO Flamingo!
Diane, today at work I confirmed that Station Bucks may be applied towards a hotel bill -- even if it's only partial. We had one guest come by the rewards center before checking out this morning. He converted his points into $20 in Station Bucks (that's all the points he had left at the time). He put that amount towards his bill and paid the balance with his credit card. It just sounds to me like the hotel people at GVR are totally uninformed and/or poorly trained.
Sounds like we were both at the Flamingo at the same time. I, too, like the smell there (though there are some who complain).

Sorry about the GVR experience. I didn't know you could use Total Reward Points at Margarittaville. I'll have to keep that in mind (thought I agree that though the food is good--nothing really special)

Glad you came home with some money and some good temps!
