Sound & the Fury, Vegas-Mar. 29-Apr. 2 Part II

As for THE D push on 22 coupon:

I always bring the coupon out and put it on the table, usually the dealer checks it out and calls over the pit boss. Results:

1. Last year: Pit boss said coupon saves any hand you bust on. I busted on one (not 22), they took the coupon, I kept my money.
2. This year Try 1: Pit boss looked at coupon, said it was only for a certain 21 game at one table that was closed. (not normal blackjack).
3. This year "Try 2" two days later: Different pit boss allows me to use it as intended. When I finally hit into 22 (no matter how many cards), they took the coupon and I kept my money.

While this coupon is a great coupon (saved me $25), it is one you can lose a lot of money while waiting to hit 22. My friend lost $200 playing $15/hand and never busted to 22. He gave me his coupon and I used his too for another $25 save. This coupon is a great coupon if you intend to play blackjack for a while. We were playing at The D anyway, and this coupon was a nice bonus.
Deagle,

It was good to read your post on THE D push on 22 coupon. Almost 2 years ago when I tried the coupon the pit boss told me he knew NOTHING about his coupon! lol I'm sure it varies depending on who is on the floor, and if they want to fool with the damned thing. That is exactly why I didn't invest a bunch of money trying to take advantage of this coupon due to what happened to your friend.

It's strange to me how you go to a blackjack pit nowadays and may see only one or two "Normal" blackjack tables. And the rules can vary widely between the games. I already know it will not be worth it to learn these games due to the built-in casino advantage these games will certainly have.

Pergande,

I agree with you both getting coupons books for your Vegas forays. Just wish I would have done this sooner! Even though I believe that you need to spend more time or make more trips, as well as getting a car rental. Will definitely do these things for future trips! Fred

When I did use the coupon in 2013, I didn't end up having problems with it although the pit and the Dealer needed to understand how it worked before I could use it. I explained it to them and then they read it over and agreed with what I said. Then I was allowed to use it. I did wait to play until they gave me the okay.

As for finding Blackjack games with widely varying rules, that's another reason for people getting their hands on an issue of Current Blackjack News, so they can learn what the casino advantage is. At least for me, if I find the casino advantage to be any higher than 0.42% in and of itself (unless maybe there is some great other additional benefit going on -- such as a decent Slot Club return or other promotion that would get the advantage to be 0.42% or lower), then I won't play it.

As far as the SWA seat thing goes, what I've done in the past is act like I'm deplaning with everyone else and as you get to the front of the plane, just choose some empty seats to sit in, but I don't usually have carry on to deal with either.

thanks for that good piece of advice erininsd!

I have thought of doing that but I didn't want one of the flight attendants to swat me down by doing it, or blocking others that are trying to get off the plane that may be behind me. But I do see others doing this very same thing at times. I think I will start using it in my repetoire in the future!
