Had a very nice and uneventful Southwest flight out early Sunday morning. Picked up a rental car from Hertz - booked the "managers special" like I usually do which turned out to be a Chevy Spark - which is VERY small. But once we dropped off our luggage it was fine. Only took 1 gallon of gas to refill it! Stayed at Bally's and we were able to check in at noon without mention of any early check-in fee. We drove out to meet my aunt at a local place called Club Fortune. Had lunch at the coffee shop there where the portions are very generous and the food is good. Spent the evening shopping and playing slots on the strip.
Monday had breakfast at the Monte Carlo buffet (my vegas). Went to the wax museum and I don't know why this was so amusing but we took about 40 pictures and had a lot of fun. Looked around the new shops in front of Bally's. Only about half were open and the stores were very hot. I can't imagine how it will be in the summer. Walked down to Luxor for the dinner buffet and Jabbawockeez show (thanks my vegas). The buffet was decent. The show was very good according to the young people in the audience - it was entertaining enough and certainly the price was right.
Tuesday we took the SDX downtown. Had our usual hot dogs and fried twinkles at Mermaids. Played some blackjack at the "D". We had a dealer who was in training so it was nice to play at a slow pace. Cashed in the free slot play coupons from LVA and came back ahead for the afternoon. We had dinner at Planet Dailies (the 9.99 prime rib special) and it was very good. Then headed down to Venetian to see Human Nature. This is my absolute favorite show - if you like Motown even remotely you will enjoy this show. Finished the night with slots on the strip - had some small wins and ended up coming home with my entire gaming budget plus $165.
All in all a great trip - good weather, good food, good family time.
