This was our first visit to LV during spring break. I was concerned about it being crowded, especially with March madness going on but was pleasantly surprised that it was no busier than it is during the summer. The weather was perfect - a little windy but in the 60's - a wonderful change from the difficult Chicago winter!.
Monday - The last 30 minutes of our Southwest flight were a little tricky - very turbulent - kids on the plane were screaming like they were on a roller coaster ride! Arrived at Bally's at 2:30pm with no line for check-in and room was ready - no early check-in fee. Did some shopping at Miracle Mile - had good pizza at Pin-up's at PHW. Spent the evening wandering the strip with random gambling.
Tuesday - Rented a car to visit my aunt who lives in Boulder City. Had breakfast at the Dam Hotel and a nice visit. Returned to the strip mid-afternoon. Went to the Secret Garden at Mirage and then dinner at Cravings buffet (myVegas rewards). I got tickets for Human Nature from Travelzoo for $47 - when we got to the show the maitre d asked if we would like 4th row center seats! I love this show but that close up it was even more amazing.
Wednesday - Had breakfast at Cravings (again thanks to myVegas). Took a cab downtown - cashed in on the LVA free slot play coupons. Got our traditional lunch - hot dogs and fried twinkles - from Mermaids. Played a little blackjack at Binions. The dealer, Lacy, was very patient with us and we walked away a few dollars ahead. Dinner was at La Brassiere at Paris - great burgers and wings. Used a groupon ($20 for $40). On a whim I got tickets for Recycled Percussion at the Quad from travel zoo for $17. We were very pleasantly surprised with how good a show these young men put on. I spent the next two hours playing my favorite machine, which I could only find at Flamingo - Double reel rich devil. I got a bonus round that put my gaming budget ahead for the trip so I cashed out and called it a night.
Overall a good trip. LVA, myVegas and travelzoo really help to keep spending down.
