Another trip planned and complete. As per my luck ended up in the ER a few days before we left. I was sitting on the computer finishing up some last minute work and planning before we left when this horrible pain hit my side/back. Wow, the sweating and pain. I had to crawl to my phone to call hubby. He came out in the ambulance to get me. At the ER my blood pressure had nearly tripled. They found I had a kidney stone and the pain was from that as well as my high blood pressure. Gave me pain meds--which I found I have a bad reaction to-so more meds to combat the bad reaction to the other meds. All ended well just really sore. 4-5 plane ride was something I was not looking forward to.
Made it to the airport----OMG glad SW flies out of gate A, the line at B is out the front door. Standing the long line a gate A over hear a flight crew muttering that went to the wrong gate so we check our gate--guess what we are in the wrong line so over to gate B we go (our flight was the only SW flight going out of B). Waited in line to get through security for over 1 1/2 hours. Good thing we got B seating cause A had already loaded when we got there. Smooth sailing (flying after that) or I think so as I took a pain pill.
First 3 nights were booked at the Flamingo in a Go Deluxe room. Was upgraded to strip view (not a big deal for us but nice). Booked under a promo of $100 food credit. When we checked in-found out that is was only good a 6 high end hamburger places. OK--hamburgers it is for a few days. Used the credit at Margarittaville, Serndipity (great iced hot chocolate), and BurGR. Best ever fries at BurGR. Went to the pool all three days there nice. I was trying my had at DDB progressive and losing my bottom. I could not hit 4OAK if my life depended on it. Lost my $$ so went over to where hubby was playing triple play bonus. Sat down to play his machine while he went to restroom and got dealt a straight flush. Moved over to the progressive again--dealt another straight flush. Picked up diamond tickets to see Penn and Teller. Decent seats, show was awesome. For our dinners we went diamond lounge skipping. Found some we liked and some we didn't. Upon check out found that the $100 credit was good for one meal only-not the entire stay. ERRR. We had points to use.
Next 3 night we were off to Bally's. Had $100 pool credit to use. Ask at check in exactly how it worked. A phone call confirmed it was for our entire stay. Only did 2 days at the pool. Pool wasn't the greatest and needed to give skin a rest from the sun. New month so another set of diamond tickets. This time to Divas. Hubby wasn't excited about this one, but enjoyed the show. Still no luck on VP--the 4OAK's were few and far between. At this point had switched to bonus to slow the bleeding. Low and behold--dealt a couple more straight flushes. Over the 6 days at Harrah's properties hit all the diamond lounges except Planet Hollywood several times. We felt it was only fair to give them second chances. We were very disappointed with Ceasar's. The food was blahh and service bad as well as being very crowded. In order our fav's--Planet Hollywood (from last stay), Harrah's, Paris, Flamingo, Ceasars and Rio.
Final 2 nights out to the Orleans. Relax at the pool. 2 nights treated to the movies (comped by host) Saw After Earth (not impressed) and Gatsby (great). No special meals just buffets, cafe and food court. My string of little to no 4OAK's followed my, but straight flushed did follow. Hubby was dealt 3 in one sitting. We hit more straight flushes than 4OAK's I thinks which is so odd. We had a late check out but still had about 45 till we had to catch a cab to the airport. I was down and figured I would run XX amount and then I was done. Wouldn't you know I pulled another straight flush--only this time it was a royal one. Whoo hoo for me. Heck of a way to end a trip. Hubby is getting so mad at me though. Bless his heart. Some how I have hit a royal on everyone of our last 3 trips and he hasn't hit one in over 3 years.
Off to plan next trip. It should be over Thanksgiving. Our son's girlfriend turns 21 and wants to go to Vegas with us and her parents (heck of a place to meet the future in laws) It should be fun.
