Trip Report
December 9 – December 31, 2015

Well here it is. It's time for another Christmas/Birthday Trip report. We've got lot's planned this trip including another new hotel to add to my growing list, dining in new places and of course lots of gaming action! There's free play, coupons, promos and more. The bags are packed, the plane is waiting and Las Vegas awaits. Here we go!

Day 1
Wednesday December 9, 2015
We were up really early today for our flight. It's 3am and we just got up. There are no pre-flight hotels or any one way car rentals. Instead of driving 2 hours to get to the airport we're driving only 10 minutes. Since this is my Seven Stars trip through Caesars Entertainment and I get up to $1200 in airfare for this trip we were able to fly from our local airport, Stewart – Newburgh.

I booked this flight through a host in my home casino in Atlantic City. Initially the flights were still too high even with the $1200 credit but they finally came down. Unfortunately my host dropped the ball and I lost out on these fares because of the long and drawn out way Caesars does things. By the time this flight got booked it was just over $1200. I still took the flights and will be using reward credits to cover the $33 difference. We're also going to have to pay for luggage which I hate but will suffer through for the “free” flight.

We left the house at around 4:00am and I dropped Dee off at the airport. I drove back down to where I work which is only a mile away to park the car for free! Once I got down there I walked back up to the airport. This is a smaller airport and checking in was so fast and easy. They also told me that it wouldn't post $25 to my credit card but the luggage was covered. I can only guess that Caesars covered that as part of the price. Security was equally as easy except for me being a bonehead and forgetting I had a pen in my pocket prompting a full body cavity search!

This initial flight is on a smaller plane and we boarded first because of Dee's wheelchair. The only drawback of flying from here is that we have to make a connection. This is American Airlines flight 4745 from Newburgh to Philadelphia. We have a scheduled departure of 5:45am and a flight time of 1 hour and 9 minutes but the captain came on and told us it would be 51 minutes.

When we arrived in Philly we had to get off the plane and take a shuttle to a different terminal where the main flight would be departing from. This went well.

When we got the the other terminal we made our way to the gate all of the way down to that farthest point of the terminal. It was just about time to board. Things here went well and we pre-boarded and got to our seats with no problem

This is American Airlines flight number 577 non stop from Philly to Las Vegas. We are scheduled to depart at 8:00am with a 10:43 arrival time. Before we took off the captain came on the PA and told us that the flight was going to take about 4 hours and 45 minutes.

To pass the time on the flight I played on my tablet and slept. Dee slept too. Before we knew it we were on our initial descent into Las Vegas. The flight was smooth except for a few cases of turbulence. The only other issue was the cabin. This had to be the coldest flight I've ever taken. We landed at 10:05am and taxied to gate. We waited for everyone to get off the plane and then headed for the monorail to the main terminal where I collected our suitcase.

Once I had everything I found a place for Dee to sit and I took the shuttle over to the rental car facility. I actually have 2 reservations this trip and the selection of cars will dictate which option I use. One rental is with Dollar for a Standard SUV through Dollar for a price of $108/week. This worked out well for us last time we were out here but I noticed on their website that they are now using a smaller sized SUV for standard sized than they did just 3 months ago. I decided I'd check their inventory to see what was being offered and if it wasn't up to my satisfaction, I would cancel it and go to Alamo. At Alamo I have a premium car booked for $102/week.

When I got to Dollar they had me set up in a Nissan Exterra that had over 48,000 miles on it. I wasn't ok with this and one of the lot attendants offered me a Chevy Equinox. It was in good condition with only 10,000 miles on it and I took this one. After looking it over and heading out

When I got back to the airport I got Dee and we were back out fast enough to not have to pay for the short term parking.

We left the airport and went up to Arizona Charlie's Decatur. The plan here was to have lunch and then play because I had a $90 mailer and they were running a promo where if you earn 1200 points you get to swipe and win $12, $120 or $1200.

For lunch we went to the Sourdough Cafe. I got the French Dip with fries and Dee got the Farm. It's the standard 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 toast and has browns for $3.99. The food here is decent but nothing fancy but we usually leave here satisfied. Today was no exception. I used points to cover the bill and we were off to the casino.

We chose to play 3/5/10 play 8/5 bonus today. Dee hit aces on her 4th hand. She continued to hit quads while I fed in bills. I even switched games a few times with no luck feeding in bill after bill. Things caught up to Dee too and she started getting slammed. By the time we quit we'd dropped over $1200 and we haven't even checked in yet.

On your spins we hit for $12 in free play each. I ran it through some penny slots and we were on our way.

After a quick stop at CVS for a few items our next stop was to the Linq Hotel and Casino where we'd spend just the next 2 nights. I booked this hotel on a mailed offer of up to 4 nights, $50 free play and $20 in food. The reason I chose the Linq over some of the other properties in the Caesars portfolio was simple. I've never stayed here before.

When we checked in and the room was ready. Considering this is the old Imperial Palace they did a nice job on it.

We were assigned room 22016. This room has 2 double beds, dresser, flat screen TV, small table & 1 chair and a view of the Strip. The bathroom is small and had your standard vanity, shower stall and toilet. I can say they've done a pretty nice job with the remodel of this place and the transformation from Imperial Palace to the Linq. The only thing I found lame is the soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower.

We stopped at the booth/cage to get my free play vouchers. I saved them for tomorrow because even though it's not late, it's late! We don't play much at the Caesars properties in Las Vegas because of the poor pay tables on their video poker. I also don't need anymore points for the year since I've already reached 7* for next year so any additional points would be a waste.

For dinner we went to Guy Fieri's Las Vegas. We've been here a couple of times in the past and really like the food and atmosphere. I got the Motley Que sandwich. It's pulled pork and slaw with fries. Dee got the deli salad. She said it was excellent. My sandwich was very good but was lacking in meat.

Even though it wasn't that late we decided to just go to the room and wrap up the night. We've been up since 3:00am eastern and it was now 9:00pm pacific.

Day 2
Thursday December 10, 2015
When we got up today we started off with Dee getting up at 4am thinking it was 7. Screw it, I got up too. We left the room and went to the casino. First stop was Nosh Express for 2 muffins.

Next up we played my free play on some penny games. At first we did ok but then it got bad. We turned the $50 free play into just $20. I knew better than to play slots here so shame on me.

Next to get some action in we played some short pay video poker. We only ran 3k through the machines and dropped 4 bills between us with no major hits at all.

We came back tot he room to get some more sleep. We were woken up by a phone call from room service. There was a guy outside the room with a birthday cake for me and a snack box! The cake was a sponge cake with pudding and fruit in the layers and was really good but the frosting was Crisco and sugar and not good. The snack box had chips, pretzels, cashews, cookies and dried fruits.

We left the Linq and went to the Flamingo to get show tickets to X – Burlesque, a show Dee has wanted to see for years. I used a 2 for 1 from the ACG and charged $76 to the room to be covered with comps when we check out.

Next was to the player's club to get a $100 voucher for dinner tonight from my 7* celebration dinners and then it was back to the Linq to fetch the car.

We left and went to Savers so Dee could get some books to read during the trip. Shop also got a new used purse.

Since we didn't need to play any more here today I decided to use the day to get reestablished at an old place that I used to play quite often. That place being Terrible's, now Silver 7's. I used to play here a lot in the old days. I used to get decent mail offers for my action and the comps were pretty good too. I thought I'd we'd take a shot today at trying to restart that action and see what happens. I got new cards and my points were still active. Today was 3x points on video poker. The VP here kind of sucks these days but I found some Loose deuces to play. Things were not good here with nothing happening. We walked out of there with a $300 loss and less than 3k in action again. This losing at a 12% rate needs to stop soon or we're going to be in real trouble.

During the afternoon we took a break in the room and watched some TV for a bit.

It was dinner time so we went over to the Flamingo. I had booked a reservation over at the Flamingo's steakhouse, Center Cut. We wanted to try this last time we were in town but ran short on time.

Oddly the prices here aren't super crazy which I was expecting them to be. Prices were in the thirties to forties for most entrees. I got the 7oz filet mignon with a twice baked potato. Dee got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo. All in all I'd have to say this meal was excellent. The filet was cooked perfect and the twice baked potato was the best I ever had. I tried some of Dee's and the Alfredo sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The bill for the two of us was $73. I used points to cover the cost and we were on our way.

We went to the diamond lounge for some dessert afterwards. There wasn't much of a selection but there was enough to do the trick. The only problem with was the room was about 40 degrees and it was freezing in there

We still had plenty of time before the show so we came up to the room and watched TV for a while.

It was time to go to X – Burlesque. We had general admission tickets but my 7* card got us in first and 4th row center. The show was ok, but it's seriously like going to the titty bar without having to tip. Add in the price works out to about $1 per minute and the titty bar could be a better option!

We ended the night with a little more TV and then were asleep by midnight.

Day 3
Friday December 11, 2015
We were up early today and packed up the few things we needed for this stay at the Linq. We checked out and headed to Laughlin. We left quite a bit earlier than normal and the ride was the same as it usually is, BORING! On the way we made a quick stop at Einstein Brothers Bagels to hold us over.

We arrived at the Aquarius where we'd be staying for the next 5 nights. When we arrived there was a happy birthday message on the Marquee. AP was also up there along with his anniversary so we got pictures of all 3. The was pretty cool to see. I wasn't sure if the rooms were going to be ready yet but we took a shot and they were. We also got a holiday gift basket from our host when we got there too.

I had booked a small suite again with my host like we had last time. The extra space was just enough for us without being too big like their larger suites. I also had a mail offer for $350 in free play and another $50 from my host for my birthday. Dee also has a mailer that's good later in the week that's good for $135 giving us $535 in free play. Dee will also be getting her “dividend” this trip along with cashing in some points. I'll also cash in some points as well and that should double our free play by the time we're done.

We were assigned room 18130. This room has a living room when you walk in with a wet bar area, couch (that's a sleeper), chairs, coffee table and flat screen TV. It has a view of the river from the side window and of the street, parking lot, mountains, outlet mall and events center out the main windows. The bedroom features a king bed, dresser, night stands work desk, and flat screen TV. There is also a view of the same stuff you can see from the living room.

The bathroom is small with your basic tub, toilet and vanity.

Once we got our stuff up to the room it was off to the casino. We'd be playing on my card today and we started off with some Super Times Pay. It was not good and we got hammered here dropping about 9 bills and only got about 8k in play. Yet another session where we lost close to 12%.

We went to the room for a while to take a break before dinner.

For dinner we went to Outback with our friend AP who was also in Laughlin for the next few days. I got a pork chop and Dee got a burger. We had a great time enjoying a good meal and hanging out with AP. The food was typical, average at best for Outback.

After dinner it was back to the machines and more video poker action. We played triple play deuces wild with a progressive this time. The pay table is short on the quints and wild royal. I was getting killed yet again. Dee was streaky and actually hit deuces two times. That was the good part. The bad was she only won $100 and even worse is I lost $100.

I ran my $400 free play through $1 8/5 bonus. I actually case out the entire $400 after hitting a full house on my last hand.

Our last play for the day was Dee playing 8/5 bonus 5 play and losing yet another $100. I played STP and lost $200 in 15 minutes. I switched over to Spin Poker and was doing better but only hit one quad and dropped $100 in about 4 minutes.

It was getting late and had been a long day so we packed it in and headed up to bed after yet another horrible day at the machines.

Day 4
Saturday December 12, 2015
When we got up today we started off with a short work out in the gym. After about 30 minutes we came back up here to the room and got ready for the day.

Once we were ready to go we started with breakfast at Cafe Aquarius. This place was packed today because the buffet is closed and because of this the service was slow and really sucked. I had the pecan crusted French toast and Dee had the Denver Omelet. The food was good and filled us up.

After breakfast it was time to hit the machines. We chose to play 3/5 video poker and some Super Times Pay mixed in this time. This was a session from hell for Dee as she dropped 5 bills in under an hour and only got 4k in action. She had a 24% loss rate.

My action was about the same but I only lost $100. My biggest issue was getting good multipliers and not winning anything on them. I had one good hand when I switch to DDB in a hail Mary attempt and caught quad 4's with a kicker. At the rate we're losing if things don't turn around soon I'm not sure what we're going to do for the rest of the trip. On a trip this long we certainly can't continue to lose over $1000 a day while getting no action in.

We took a break up in the room for a while which sucked considering it wasn't even 11am. Dee stayed in the room and read and I went to the casino and played some blackjack. This table wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. It was one of those win one, lose one tables. Good for playtime but not good for making money. Eventually it turned a little bad but then got a little good. It went back to win one, lose one and then I caught a short run and was able to go from being down $200 to up $600. I played a bit more and colored up with a $400 win after tossing the dealer a few chips. It was kind of exciting being the first win of the trip.

I came back to the room to get Dee and we went to Duet for a light lunch. Dee ordered a turkey and Swiss wrap. I ordered a chicken pot pie. It was prety good especially when you factor in that it was a beef pot pie complete with 1 chunk of meat!

Now it was back to the machines and some Super Times Pay. Things were streaky for Dee but she scored a quad with a 3x multiplier. She also had a few other key hands but still ended up getting whacked. I was streaky too but hit a sets of aces, a dealt quad and then holding a single ace with a 4x multiplier landed a quad for 1600 coins to save the session.

We took a break from video poker and played a variety of penny slots. There were no major hits but we did play for close to 2 hours on a single bill. Not great results but less losses than we'd had on video poker.

For dinner tonight we went to Outback again with AP. Tonight I chose the ribs and Dee chose the chicken tender platter. The ribs were pretty good and I'd get them again. Dee liked her tenders as well.

When we were done eating it was back to the machines again. We played everything from triple play, five play, STP pay and spin poker in 8/5 bonus and deuces wild. We were getting our asses pounded again until Dee hit a set of aces. I hit a few quads but I was bleeding to death. It seemed like I was feeding in bills. Dee continued to hang on after her aces and scored our first royal of the trip on the bottom line of triple play. I continued to bleed when she switched to deuces wild and hit deuces followed by another set soon after. From here she hovered for quite a while as I continued to feed in more bills. I lost track of how many bills went in between us and how many tickets Dee cashed out. I can say I was worried even with these hits were would still be down for the day.

After I cashed in all of the tickets at the cage I was amazed to know we were not only up, but up quite a bit for the day after one of the most wild rides I think we've ever had.

It was getting late so we decided to wrap things up and came back here to the room for some TV and sleep.

Total Coin – In for the day $20488
Total win/loss for the day $700 ($300 video poker + $400 blackjack)
Total comps for the day $238

Day 5
Sunday December 13, 2015
Once again today we started with a trip to the gym. After a quick workout we came up here and got cleaned up and then headed out to get something to eat.

For breakfast we hit the Cafe. I had the standard 2 eggs with corned beef hash and Dee had the Aquarius Omelet. Everything was fine as it usually is.

For gaming we started off with 8/5 bonus 5 play today. This time around it was very rough for me dropping close to $400 with very little play. Dee dropped a bill herself and I was not happy with the results considering I barely ran 1k through the machines. With only about $25 left on my meter I took a hail Mary attempt on Triple Double and landed a set of aces with no kicker on line 3 for $200 which started a major come back for me. Dee had a comeback of her own with a set of aces and numerous other quads. For me the quads finally started to come and so the did the dealt winners that were absent the last four days. I slowly crept the meter up back up to even, then up $100 then up $200 before it turned again. Dee also got up to even before her bleed started again. While she lost $200 I was able to quit up $100 for a $100 loss. While I would have rather won we did run 10k through the machines and only lost $100. This is more like what it should be!

We took a short break in the room and had a snack while watching some football.

After the break we played more video poker. We played more 5 play and this time not much happened. Dee was in for 3 bills and I was in for 4 bills before anything happened. Dee leveled off and hovered for a while. I still struggled and then switched to Spin Poker. I was hovering but oddly after about 3k in action had only hit one quad. I eventually busted out and between us dropped $600 for the session.

This was the last day we'd be playing on my card so I hit the players club and cashed in some points and got $500 in free play. We ran that through 50¢ 9/6 jacks or better and turned it into $550 thanks for dealt quads 3's, quad jacks on a single jack hold and a good number of full houses.

We had our play in for the day at this point so we came up to the room, grabbed a few things and headed up the hill to Harrah's. I have a 2 night reservation here that comes with $20 in food and $20 free play. We would only be spending one night here for a change of pace even though we're booked for 2 nights.

Checking in was quick in the Diamond/7* room and we were assigned room 11522 in the South Tower. When I booked my reservation I put in the comments section that I did not want anything in the North Tower. They obviously did honor this request. This suite is identical to most of the other suites we've had here. You enter through a living room that has a couch, chair, coffee table, flat screen TV and wet bar area with coffee maker and fridge.

The bedroom has a king bed with nightstands, a dresser and TV cabinet.

The bathroom has the vanity outside and a Jacuzzi tub. The inner part of the bathroom has the toilet and shower stall.

The view from this room sucks and is of the valet area and the other towers.

We took a short break in the room and headed back downstairs to get something to eat.

For dinner I had a reservation at the Range Steakhouse and we are going to use the $100 celebration voucher I got the other day at the Flamingo. I ordered the large filet mignon and Dee ordered the veal piccata along with an order of snails. We also got the au gratin potatoes and asparagus. Everything was good and Dee really enjoyed her veal dish.

We played a bit in the casino with poor results on the deuces machines. Typical for us once again losing at a 12% rate dropping $600 on 5k in action. Afterwards we packed it in for the night.

Total win/loss for the day - $700
Total comps for the day $769

Day 6
Monday December 14, 2015
We started off the day with breakfast at the Beach Cafe. We both had the 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, hash brown and pancakes. One thing I can say is that the prices here at Harrah's are substantially higher than they are at the Aquarius. I actually used a coupon from the ACG that's good for a free entree when you buy one and with drinks the bill was still $25!

After breakfast we ran out and did some shopping for a few things we needed over in Bullhead City. We also went to the outlet mall in Laughlin for a little while to pass some time.

Next up we went back to the Aquarius and hit the VP machines. The next three days we'll be playing on Dee's card to try and increase her offers. We decided to play 8/5 bonus on Spin Poker. This can be streaky and it was. I'm notorious for not hitting quads on this game and today wasn't any different. I did hit a few but in the end they weren't enough and I dropped $200. Dee was streakier than I was with a few quads but not enough. She actually blew through $200 and bought in for another $200. She had a few key hands and got out even on her second round. Between us we lost $400 but did manage to run about 8k through the machines.

We went up to the room for a while for a break and then came back here to Harrah's. The first thing I did was get my $20 in free play and then it was off to the machines.

We played some ugly ducks triple play for a while. Things were decent here for me. The deuces were showing often enough to keep going. The end result was about a $20 loss for me. Dee was getting hammered and was in for 2 bills and almost busted out but had a few nice dealt winners. She wrapped up the session by getting dealt 3 deuces and pulling the 4th on line 2 and walked away with a win. Between us the win was $100 but it was welcomed.

Next up saw me taking Dee to the Salon to get her hair done. She did this last trip and enjoyed it and used some of the many reward credits to pay for it.

For dinner we were going to go to Guy Fieri's El Burro Borracho. We were here in the fall and liked it so decided to come back. Unfortunately when we got there they had a sign on the door that they are only open on the weekends during the holidays. That was too bad because we were looking forward to it.

Instead we went to the diamond lounge. Tonight's offerings were pretty good with deli meats, veggie platter, fruit salad, a chicken and pasta dish the Dee really enjoyed, some deep fried pockets with a mystery filling, and creamy chicken Florentine soup that was excellent. Dessert was the standard cookies and rice crispy treats.

When we were done eating we found a penny slot to run the $20 free play through for some fun. We had a few hits but nothing major and turned the $20 into $15 cash. The way things are going I'll take it!

We came back up to the room, grabbed our things and went back down to the Aquarius.

When we got back we hit the machines again. We started off by playing spin poker again. This did not work out well with me hitting the only quad of the session and dropping $200. Dee was hit even harder dropping twice as much for a $600 loss on only 4k in action in another one of those 15% loss rate sessions.

We decided to play some single line 8/5 bonus next for halves.
Dee was hovering but then started getting beat up. She put in a second bill and hovered for a while on that one but never hit a quad. She dropped just $100 for this round. I was streaky on my machine not hitting much of anything other than jacks and two pair. I went into my Hail Mary mode and switched to Triple – Double Bonus of all games. This game makes double – double look like it's not volatile at all. I hit a few full houses to keep alive but then lost when I was willing to play and even a bit more. That's when I was dealt 2 A A x A. I held the 3 aces and the deuce, said won't this be some shit if it hits. Slammed the draw button and yelled “Holy shit, I got it, I fuckin' got it!”. After I got my $2000 hand pay I cashed out my ticket and left the aces w/ kicker on the screen for everyone else to enjoy.

For a little variety we played some super times pay spin poker for dimes. I plain and simple got my ass kicked here dropping $200 on only $600 in action. Dee was a little luckier landing a set of deuces. Her best hand was getting a 3x multiplier and being dealt a quint for over 2000 coins. She cashed out up $200 breaking us even after my loss.

We finished up the night by playing regular 8/5 bonus triple and five play. I was getting my ass kicked again dropping $100 without hitting a hand better than trips. I put in another bill and finally hit a quad. You know it's bad when you have more quads than straights and flushes. My ass kicking continued until I dropped 2 bills. Dee was doing better though and on a 3 ace hold landed the quad on 2 of her 3 lines. The machine went into suck mode after that though and she cashed out even.

We called it a day after this to lick our wounds. Even with the $2000 hit the profits were small today, but happily accepted.

Total Coin – In for the day $18160

Day 7
Tuesday December 15, 2015
We were up early today and started off with a trip to the gym. This was followed by getting ready for the day and hitting Cafe Aquarius for breakfast. Dee had the classic with ham and I had a fruit platter with oatmeal. Everything was good except for the moldy strawberry on my plate. I pointed it out to the server who pointed it out to the chef in the kitchen who told him to take it off the bill so I ate for free this morning!

For a change of pace we went over to the Riverside and got some player cards. The plan was to do about 10k and see what, if any mail we'd get for the future. I found the 9/6 jacks or better machines that were listed on vpFREE and we sat down. My hope was to not get killed playing at the dollar level and to be able to run our action through and get out of there unscathed. Things were choppy here and I actually had more quads than flushes for most of the session. I had busted out of $300 and bought in for $200 more. I wasn't keeping track but I think I was dealt flush for 30-40 times during the session and landed 2 of them. Amazingly I got out of my session up $25 after the second buy in thanks to a few full houses and quads. Dee was all over the place and scored 2 quads early on but then her machine died. She was also in for a total of $500 and only cashed out $175. Between us we dropped $300 on 10k in action which I thought was pretty decent especially considering our horrible luck the last week.

They were running a promo here this month where if you earn 500 points you get a $5 Safeway gift card. Since we ran 2000 points I was able to get $20 worth of gift cards. You also get to keep the points.

We came back over here to the Aquarius and played some single line 50¢ machines. We hit a few quads to keep going but nothing great. We did about 2k between us and actually won $50.

We took a break up in the room for a while and watched TV. I took a quick nap and we were ready to go again.

Next up we played triple/five play and Dee just got her ass kicked. She was feeding in bill after bill. I was hovering and got out of this session even.

We went to play 9/6 jacks for halves to try and lesson some of the streaks we've been having. This didn't work out well because Dee dropped another $300 and only got $1600 in action. I did a little better only dropping $100.

For dinner we went to Cafe Aquarius. Dee had a Cobb Salad and I had chicken fingers and fries. The chicken fingers here are really good and not out of a bag like they are at most places. I wish more restaurants would cut and bread their own chicken.

After dinner we hit the machines again. This time we took a shot at 10 play. Nothing happened and we finished the session with another loss of $200 each. I only ran $800 through the machine. Dee got $2500 through but also lost $200. Things just aren't working out and not only are we losing our asses we aren't even getting to play.

We finished off the evening with Dee running off her free play through the spin poker super times pay machines for dimes. She caught on fire hitting lots of big paying hands. Her best hand was being dealt 3 deuces and landing the 4th giving her a total of 3 hands of quad deuces for 3000 coins. I decided to play $100 in another machine with very little luck. I lost quickly but Dee continued to do well. She cashed out a ticket for over $500 giving us a small $400 with for the session.

We got our asses kicked enough today so even though it was only 9pm we decided to give up and came up here to the room to watch TV for a while and then get some sleep.

Day 8
Wednesday December 16, 2015
Today is actually moving day but we started off with a trip to the gym for our usual quick workout.

We came back to the room and got ready for today's move. Since we were getting killed here we skipped playing today before we left. Instead we went back over to the Riverside. The plan here was to get Dee a card and do 5k in action on her card to see what mail, if any, she'll end up getting. We hit the same machines as yesterday. Things here were bad here for me. I hit no quads in $2500 in action and only a few full houses, flushes and straight. I ended up dropping $400. For Dee things were much better. She hit 3 quads and a bunch of full houses. She ended up winning $200. The session saw us losing $200 on 5k in action.

We stopped back at the player's club and got Dee two $5 Safeway gift cards. They are still running the same promo as yesterday where for 500 points you get a $5 card.

The next plan was to go lunch. We went to the Sidewalk Cafe at the Riverside and got a couple of sandwiches. Dee got an Italian combo with coleslaw and got roast beef with pasta salad. With drinks the bill came to $18.05 and Dee had just earned $18.71 in comps so that worked out well.

She also got $5 in free play for signing up so we ran that through a penny slot and she had 40¢ left. I thought we were doing bad at VP losing 10-20% of everything we had run. This is ridiculous.

We were done playing now and it was time to leave Laughlin. The drive back to Las Vegas was typical and the journey brought us to the laundromat in Henderson, the bank (and not for a good reason) and then to Main Street Station where we'd be spending the next 4 nights. I booked this stay using my monthly offer of 4 nights and $35 free play. Recently my offers have taken a real nosedive despite bigger play than ever before. If it weren't for my host giving me a silver card for free food during the stay I'd be seriously looking at dumping this place.

Checking in took just a few minutes like it usually does and we were off to room 1720. I actually asked my host to block the same room we always get and not only did that not happen, she only listed the handicap room as a request. Of course the slowest week of the year I'm told at check in that they have none available. This room has 2 queen beds, a nightstand, table with chairs, dresser, 32 inch flat screen TV, closet, fridge and a work desk. The bathroom is typical of the rooms here with the vanity outside the bathroom and the toilet and tub inside it. We've got the same view we've normally got from our regular room of the Freeway and North Las Vegas.

We got our stuff to the room and settled in and then hit the casino. The first stop was to the player's club to activate my whopping $35 in free play. Next I ran a quick 10 points on a penny game (losing $5 for a 50% rate). I did this because they are running a promo where every day you get a swipe after earning 10 points. You could win food, free play or multiple points. I took my spin and of course, won $25 in food that has to be used today. You're fucking kidding me right? It's bad enough it has to be used today but I'm LRFB, I don't need to win fuckin' food credits.

Today's game of choice is five play video poker. Things here were all over here. Dee got off to a great start with a quad on her 3rd hand and then hit a few more and a straight flush. I struggled but hit a few quads myself. I was feeding in bills while Dee hovered. Then I looked over at her meter and saw it down to under $100 when she was up over $250 and that was only about 5 minutes ago. I was still getting slammed and even my hail Mary attempts weren't working. One one try I only had $3.75 left on my meter and switched to triple play for one hand getting dealt 3 to a royal. I actually hit the royal on line 2.

We continued to play and continued to get pounded. By the time I said fuck about 647 times we had actually dropped 8 bills in an hour on only 5k in action (excluding the royal so a $200 win). These 10-20% loss rates in short time have just got to stop at some point.

For dinner I went to the snack bar at the Cal to use that stupid $25 voucher I won in the free swipe. I had the saimen and Dee had the burger and fries combo. I also got a bunch of drinks and snacks for the room and brought everything back up here for a “room service” dinner.

After we ate it was back to the machines again for more video poker action. As we were getting set up I put a slot card in Dee's machine and then she asks me if I put that in there and points to her meter. There was $100 on it! No, I didn't put that in. The joke was on her though when she played it and lost it all after just $200 in action. Things were quite good for her after that though. I gave her $100 and she played on it the whole time. She almost busted out and she took one of my hail Mary attempts and scored aces no kicker on the top line. She was so excited she (and I) forgot to get a scratch card. She switched back to bonus and hit aces again getting out of her session with a $200 win. This time around things were shitty here for me. I was feeding in bill after bill. I only hit 2 quads the whole time we played and had no dealt winners other than one flush. I even tried $100 on ten play with no luck. I'm not sure how you can hold a pair in 10 play and not hit one stinkin' three of a kind. Between us we dropped $300 this time around. After this afternoon's session, and this one, we finished the day here at Main Street Station down $100. Normally that is a great day but considering I hit a royal, it sucks.

Thanks mostly to Dee we scored 18 scratch cards today worth $39. Dee actually got one for $5. I thought they were going to ask her how she hacked the system when she cashed that fucker in.

We ran my whopping $35 free play through a penny slot. This was as bad as the Riverside. After a 1000 coin hit on our 5th spin, we managed to turn it all into nothing and only got $53 in action out of it.

We finished off the day with some TV and then sleep as another day came to end.

Day 9
Thursday December 17, 2015
This morning we hit the Market Street Cafe over at the California for breakfast. Dee had the garden omelet and I had the mini buffet. The food is really basic here but we really like this place. The food on the buffet is even more basic. Only one trip was needed and I had enough. Dee said her omelet was excellent.

I earned a quick 10 points on my card so I could do today's 15 days of giving swipe and actually won 15x on slots and 7x on video poker. This is more like it. There's a cap on the video poker points but it's still a good deal.

Once we were fed it was time for more video poker action. We played the five play machines again. This session Dee was streaky. I covered up my credit meter so I wouldn't see the fluctuations and limit the number of times I'd say fuck. I knew when I was in a losing streak but never knew how good or bad it really was. Dee ended up busting out on $300. I uncovered my meter expecting near the same and was shocked to see I was only down $60. I played a bit more and cashed out down $100 for another $400 loss between us on only $3600 in action as the bleeding just won't stop. We scored 6 scratch cards worth $2 each.

We took a break for a while in the room and I actually fell asleep for over 2 hours. It wasn't exactly the way I had planned on spending the afternoon.

We returned to the machines and more 5 play action. It was not a good session to start with. I had my meter covered and couldn't tell how bad it was but I know I was up to almost 3k in action and hadn't hit my first quad yet. Dee had only hit 2 at this time. Things turned around when I hit quad sixes and then soon after got dealt quad deuces. Dee started getting caught up on quads and 6 was the number of the day. Between us we hit quad sixes repeatedly. I eventually hit a sets of aces too. Dee busted out after $200. I revealed my meter to see I was down $150 for another $350 loss but this time on over 9k in action. We had a total of 19 scratch cards this time and one of them was from a straight flush. We also got our second $5 card of the trip. Again the lady at the cage was shocked!

For dinner we went to the buffet here at Main street Station. It wasn't a specialty night so everything was basic but still standard good food from the pretty consistent buffet here.

After dinner we hit the casino again. This session we played some deuces wild and we did fair here. I dropped $100 with no quints or wild royals but Dee won $50 with an abundance of straight flushes and good number of dirty royals.

Next we went back to the 3/5 plays. This time around things were decent but streaky. I hit aces and Dee hit a bonus quad to start things off. From here it got rocky but then Dee hit aces. I was actually down $100 but on the first hand of the next bill got dealt an inside straight flush and popped it on 2 lines to get back to even. Soon after the bleed started again and dropped that $100 but got out down just $100 and Dee cashed out even. This is more like the sessions we're used to playing for 2 hours and only dropping a few bucks.

We had enough action in for the day and it was started to get late so we decided to just pack it in and go watch TV before going to sleep.

Day 10
Friday December 18, 2015
This morning we started off with me getting up early and heading out to pick up the laundry we dropped off on Wednesday. I came back to the hotel and we started our day.

I earned a quick 10 points and did the swipe for the 15 days of giving. Today I won 10x on slots and 7x points on video poker.

It was time for video poker now and we played the triple/five play machines again this time around. It was tough and we dropped $200 in no time and got under $1000 in action. I don't know why I'd think otherwise!

For lunch we met up with friends Jimbo & Katy. We went to the Triple 7 Brew Pub. I got the prime rib sandwich and Dee got the fish and chips. The filet sandwich was one of my favorites here but it's no longer on the menu. My prime rib sandwich sort of sucked. The prime rib was dry and very well done. The bread was toasted on one side and mushy on the other.

After lunch Dee went to play VP with Katy and I went to the tables with Jimbo to play blackjack over at the California. The blackjack started great with the card falling like they should and I was up quickly before the cards turned. Thins got so bad I ended up dropping $700 in no time. While we were over there Jimbo got a text telling him that Dee hit a royal.

We came back to Main Street Station and joined Katy and Dee in video poker. Since the bank was full I actually played triple play on the 10 coin machines but set the machine to the slowest possible setting. I hit a fair share of quads and got almost 5k in action on $100. Dee's VP session was excellent. She played the whole time on just $200 and cashed out with some money, excluding royal. This was a pretty good session all around if you you don't factor in the royal flush Dee hit. This is more like what we're used to when playing video poker. Not the nonsense that's been going on for the last 10 days.

Jimbo and Katy left to meet up with some other friends and me and Dee got ready to get some dinner. We went to the Market Street Cafe over at the Cal. Dee had spaghetti and I had planned on getting the open turkey sandwich that's one of my long time favorites here. Oddly it's no longer on the menu. Between the filet sandwich being gone at the Triple 7 and now this, I'm not doing well with food here today. Instead I opted for the Friday special Ox Tail Stew. I've always wanted to try it and figured this would be the time. I have never had it before but I can say it's tasty. The only issue with it is it's a lot of work to eat it by the time you pull all of the meat out of the bones. Everything was good and we were back to the machines in no time.

This time around at the machines was up and down. We were hitting enough quads to keep alive but nothing too exciting. I'm ok with that though as long as we get to play without feeding in bill after bill. Dee was down almost $200 and switched to DDB for a Hail Mary. She didn't hit a quad but got dealt a straight flush that got her out of the session even. I wasn't quite so lucky but did get to play for a long time on just $100.

Next up we decided to play some single line deuces. Dee was on a downward spiral from the time she sat down. I was hovering and popped ducks for the $250 hit. From here I played about another hour or so on $30 and cashed out with a $200 win. Dee wasn't so lucky and she dropped $100.

to end the night we played a variety of penny slots for some fun but couldn't hit much of anything. A nice bonus round on one of the games got us close to even so we quit while we could.

I was getting late so we came up here to the room and watch TV for a while and then went to bed.

Day 11
Saturday December 19, 2015
We slept in today because I've been getting a cold that really set in last night. I'm not happy about this. Getting sick on vacation just sucks dick.

By the time I was motivated it was about lunch time so we went to the Triple 7. Dee had a burger and ordered pepper jack cheese on it and got regular cheese. That was a really hard request to fulfill. I had a ½ rack of ribs. The BBQ sauce on them was good but the ribs looked like they came off an anorexic pig.

Next up we hit the machines. After throwing on a quick ten points I took today's swipe in the 15 days of giving promotion and won a fucking $15 food credit. What a joke that 2 of the 4 days we're here I win food credit when I've already got a silver card.

Dee hit quad deuces on 2 of 3 lines right away but that would be pretty much all for her. She dropped $200 on only $1300 in action. I wasn't doing much better on my machine. I was down $100 after only $220 in action. On my next bill things were a little better but I couldn't get dealt anything. The only thing that saved me was every time I got dealt trips I landed a quad. That was 4 times and once I hit 2 quads on the same hand. After less than 2.8k in action we were down $300 in 45 minutes. So we're right back to the 10-12% loss rate bullshit again.

We took a break for a while up in the room. Dee read her book and I wrote this report!

After the break we were back at it again. We took a shot at 10 play and tried to extend our play time by setting the machines to slow. Initially I though it was going to be a decent session when we both hit straight flushes at the same time. It was dry after that though but oddly even without big hands and dealt winners we stayed alive. I popped in 2 more bills again with no luck. The quads just weren't coming. We were up to about 7k between us and had 4 quads. Then suddenly Dee started hitting quads like crazy including some bonus quads and aces 3 different times. Although we were still very under quadded this session she won $420 to offset my $400 loss. I had 2 quads on about 4k in action and she only had 7 in 4k so about half of what we should get. This is pretty odd especially on ten play. I was quite happy to get out of the session not losing though.

We left Main Street Station and went over to the Gold Coast. We had dinner plans with my friend Anne and Steve and Stacy at 7pm. We got there early so we could play there a bit. We hit our normal triple/five play machines here like we usually do. Dee got off to a great start popping lots of quads. I hit 2 quads right off the bat and then died. Even my hail Mary attempts failed me. Dee cashed out with a $200 win while I dropped $400 for yet another $200 loss.

It was still early enough so we played more. This time we played deuces wild for halves. This was decent and we both got a good amount of play and unlike lots of deuces sessions it was pretty flat lined without the swings. By the time we were done we both cashed out even.

For dinner we went to the Cortez Room. They've changed this place a bit and revamped the menu. One thing they did that I am disappointed in was to go a la carte. I fucking hate a la carte menus especially when they used to be all inclusive here. Hopefully the locals bitch up a storm and they'll revert back. Years ago Fuego at Fiesta Henderson tried this shit and it failed and they went back to an all inclusive menu. I went with the bone in rib eye and a side of creamed corn. Dee went with the salmon. Dee said her salmon was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly and had great flavor but it was pretty small. After eating the whole thing and the entire side of corn I walked out of there still hungry. This is not a good thing when you're serving a guest a meal that's close to $50. We all had a good time and shared some great stories.

We hit the deuces machines again after we ate. Things were rough this time around for Dee and she ended up needing a second bill right away. She got more play this time around even getting back her original bill back thanks to a number of quints and straight flushes. I played the whole time on one bill just hovering for a while and then a wild royal and some quints shot my meter up over $200. Then things turned and I was losing every hand I played and the $200 was $100 and then down to $50 before I started winning any hands. The bleed continued and I was at $17 when I popped deuces for $500 saving the day. Between us we cashed out with a $400 win this time around.

We left the Gold Coast and came back to main Street Station. We ran over to the Cal snack bar to get some stuff to use up the $15 food credit I won earlier today. I got a bowl of soup (told you I was still hungry after dinner) and some other snacks and drinks for the room.

We came back to the room and pretty much crashed for the night.

Day 12
Sunday December 20, 2015
Today is moving day but before we headed out of Main Street Station we went over to the Four Queens. Today's play would be on Dee's card. She got an offer for $300 in free play and a free box of See's Candies for earning 500 points. She also has a coupon from the LVA book for $10 free play giving her a total of $310.

When we got there we settled in at the $1 jacks or better machines. Things were up and down here and we got most of our action in without too many swings. Some of the highlights were Dee's hail Mary and hitting a quad to get not only back in it but ahead. She also had an abundance of full houses that kept her playing on just one bill the whole session. The low light of the session was when she switched to DDB she hit jacks and at the same time I hit aces with a kicker but I was still on jacks or better. The other bad part for me was only hitting a few full houses and 2 quads the whole time. By the time we were done we were down just $60. I though this was really great for 12k in action on dollars.

We went to the players club and got Dee's $10 coupon added to her account and her box of candy. We also cashed out her points from the last 2 trips and got $77 for them.

For lunch we met up with AP and went to Magnolia's. Dee had Simply Jazz (2 eggs, toast and has browns). I had the open turkey and a cup of gumbo. Everything was typical Magnolia's. Nothing great but not bad either. The gumbo is a standout here though. The whole bill for 3 of us was only $40. Compare that to strip prices! AP picked up the bill using some of his many comp dollars. Thanks AP!!

We took Dee's $310 free play and ran it through 50¢ jacks and turned it into $330!

We made dinner plans with AP to go to Hugo's Cellar so had to leave to go check in and would return later.

We left downtown for the Strip and today's move is to Treasure Island. I don't have an offer here and haven't been here in years. The reason for booking this was a great rate during a flash sale on their website and this will be our Christmas present to ourselves. I booked a Petite Suite for a total of just over $100 a night including the resort fee. This will give us a nice room, center strip for the next 3 nights with no need to play to keep offers coming (but of course we'll play some).

When we got to check in the line was really long. This is one downfall of not being a higher rated player here. Amazingly this line moved very quickly and after only about 10 minutes in line we were at the counter. After about 2 minutes we were checked in and things were in order and everything was set for the 3 night stay. We were assigned room 19075. This is a Petite Suite with a king bed with nightstands. There's a small sitting area with a couch (has a sleeper in it) and coffee table, a work desk and flat screen TV. There are two bathrooms. One is large with a vanity, toilet and Jacuzzi tub. It's also got a large closet with a refrigerator and safe. The second bathroom has a toilet, one sink vanity and shower stall. This is one of the nicer rooms I've ever had and even with the tax and resort free is a fair price. Most other places I looked at offered similar rooms for 2-3x the price of this one.

Once we were settled into the room we took a short break and headed back out to the Four Queens. We had plenty of time before dinner so we hit the machines again. This time on my card. I had the same mailed offer Dee had except I didn't have the $10 coupon because I used it earlier this year.

This time around I was not hitting anything and was feeding in bill after bill. Dee on the other hand was having a great session. Although she only hit one quad she must have hit a flush or full house every 3-4 hands. Before I knew it she was up $100, then $200 then $300 and then over $400. In what was a great run for her was a terrible one for me and I lost that much.

We took a break and it was dinner time. We met up with AP and hit Hugo's. For starters Dee split a seafood platter with AP. It had 2 crab legs, 4 shrimp, and 4 lobster medallions.

For entrees Dee had the raspberry chicken. I had the prime rib. Both of these come with their table side salad. The food was great and the prime rib was cooked perfectly. Dee also got a piece of coffee cheesecake that I had a bite of. It was very rich and flavorful. They also provided chocolate dipped fruits for each of us as well.

After dinner it was back to the machines. This was just a flipped session of earlier. Dee was getting killed and I was doing well. Not as well as she did earlier though. There weren't any notable hands other than Dee hitting a straight flush for $250 and it being gone 15 minutes later. For most of the session we were close to even between us. As happens so often we got slammed in the last 100 points or so we needed. By the time we were done we were down around $250. Again, not terrible considering 12k in action at the dollar level. We ran my $300 free play through 50¢ jack or better. This time around it was not very good compared to Dee's free play. I only got out with about $240.

I went to the player's club and got my candy and cashed out my points from the last 2 trips as well and cashed out $80. This helped ease some of the losses too.

The last thing we did was pop a 20 into Dee's favorite Butterfly Sevens slot. We had a few decent hits and got some play in and actually cashed out a tiny $5 victory.

We left the Four Queens again and came back to Treasure Island for some TV and bed.

Day 13
Monday December 21, 2015
This morning we started the day with sleeping in and having some of the food we've gathered during the last week for a quick breakfast.

Once we were ready to go for the day it was off to the casino here at TI. My first order of business was to get a player's card for Dee

Once we had everything we went in search of something to play. We found the machines with jacks or better on them and began playing at the 50¢ level. Things were rough here for her but smooth for me. Nothing special happened other than losing a few bills. What else is new?

We took a break in the room for a while while I got caught up on this report and a ton of e-mails and Dee took a nap.

For dinner we went to Kahunaville. I had the Kahlua pork sandwich and Dee had the burger. The food was ok but the service was slow. You know something is wrong when the table next to you arrives 20 minutes after you did and their food arrives right after yours does. Since we don't have any comps built up here I charged it to the room hoping by the end of the trip we'd possibly get it comped.

After dinner we went back to the machines. It was more of the same over her with noting major getting hit with exception of Dee hitting a straight flush. Quads were far and few between but a bunch of full houses and flushes kept us from dying.

At this time we had racked up over 1000 points on Dee's card. Since she was a new sign up they were doing a kiosk promo where you got certain perks for hitting 50, 100, 500, 1000, and 2500 points.

For 50 points you got dealt 5 cards and picked one. Dee won $10 free play for this. Other prizes were drawing tickets so she got the best thing possible.

The 100 point level was spinning a virtual wheel to win free play ranging from $20 - $100 in free play. She actually didn't get the lowest amount. She got $30.

The 500 point level is a free t shirt. It was actually pretty nice with the Treasure Island Logo on a navy blue tee.

At the 1000 point level you got the virtual wheel again to win free play ranging from $50 - $500. This time she got the lowest amount of $50 and that gave her a total of $90 in free play.

We went back to the machines after this and played some more to get hr up to the 2500 point level. Again not much was happening here and we lost a few bucks but didn't get killed like we usually do trying to earn the last few points for a promo.

We went back to the kiosk and the game this time was to pick one of 9 squares to win anything from meals for 2 at any one of the many restaurants, Mystere, or free rooms. She selected her spot and won 2 free buffets or a comp to the Coffee Shop. We chose the Coffee Shop comp which is good for $40. The buffet would have been the better option because it's $30 a head for dinner. Either way though we eat for free tomorrow!

We ran Dee's $90 in free play through one of her favorite Quick Hit penny slots. We had some decent hits to keep alive and actually turned the $90 free play into $88.

We came back to the room to wrap up the night in the jacuzzi because we could.

Total Coin – In for the day $11260
Total win/loss for the day - $400
Total comps for the day $206

Day 14
Tuesday December 22, 2015
Today we started off with breakfast at Kahunaville. We had a coupon that was good for 2 breakfasts for $14. This is a pretty good deal considering we're on the strip with no comps at the moment. The food was standard 3 eggs, 3 sausage (or bacon or ham), potatoes and toast. The odd thing was the 3 eggs and 3 sausages but only 1 toast.

Today's play took us to back down to the video poker machines. Today just like yesterday the goal is to do 10k in action and see if anything shows up in the mailbox. We stopped at the club and I signed up for a card. It wasn't the original plan, we were going to to elsewhere but, the sign up deal was too good not to take so I jumped on it.

We actually started off by playing a progressive bank for dollars that had a $7550 royal. The best game was 7/5 bonus and with the royal where it was is a break even play but with pretty huge variance. The plan was to take a shot and not go broke doing it. If we lost a few bills we'd move back to half dollar jacks. It was an awful session with no quads or full houses. The end result was - $600 and lots of eff bombs on exactly $1800 in action.

We moved back to the 50¢ jacks machines for some more play. We got more play out of the money this time but not that much. Dee busted out of $100 with only 1 quad. I initially got up over $100 by hitting a quad just minutes after we sat down and hovered for a while. I eventually hit 2 more but after the 3rd one the machine just died and I dropped $125 in profits in about 10 minutes. I cashed out even and we came up here for a break because I was too pissed off to continue at the time. There is no way we should be dropping $700 on under 5k in action.

During the break Dee read her book and I ended up falling asleep for close to 2 hours. That is not exactly how I planned on spending the afternoon.

For dinner we went to The Coffee Shop to use the comps Dee won last night. I ordered the open turkey platter and Dee ordered the club. The food was excellent and my platter had way more turkey on it than it needed. On the other hand at $17.50 they had to do something to justify the price. Dee said her sandwich was good but it only came with potato chips and was $16.50. Welcome to the strip.

After we ate we went to video poker again and hit the machines with the same results as usual. Few quads and me losing a few hundred and Dee losing just $100 again with too little play for what we're losing.

During breakfast this morning at Kahunaville the manager was handing out tickets to their evening show Island Heat. Since we were getting slammed in the casino to the tune of a grand at this point we decided to go to this show. It was nothing special and had the warriors (men) doing traditional dances, hula girls, singers and oddly an Elvis impersonator. This show is normally $51 per person and I can say it's not worth half of that. If you can go for free it might be ok but even at $25 a head there are for better shows out there. Hell, if you want to see a show for $50 spend the extra $10 and go to Mystere.

We came back to the room and I decided to go play blackjack for a while. Things started off good here but turned quickly. I decided that since I was up and now back down to even I'd run and repeat the Cal incident from last week.

Instead I took the money from blackjack and played $1 9/6 jacks. I didn't do bad here at all and had the credit meter covered so I wouldn't see the swings. When I hit my first quad I took a peek and I was up $400. I was amazed by this since I didn't seem to have hit that many full houses and flushes. My only guess was I was playing fast and thought I had a full house on one hand and hit the deal button before the credits racked up. I continued to play and hit another quad a few minutes later followed by another. The next thing I knew I was up over $500. I played a bit more and took the money and ran with the win cutting the days losses in half.

Day 15
Wednesday December 23, 2015
When we got up we finished packing up our things and got ready for today's move. I stopped at the host office to see if any of the room charges could be comped. They actually covered 2 nights and the resort fee. I thought this was more than fair on our action.

Today's move is taking us to the Rio where we would be spending the next 4 nights as part of my annual 7* trip with Caesars Entertainment. This trip comes with the airfare that got us to town, the room and a $500 folio credit for charging things to the room during the stay.

When we arrived we checked in at the 7* check in area. One of the perks you're supposed to get is a room upgrade when you're 7* but I to this day still haven't had one with the exception of Laughlin. I don't consider going from a mountain view to a strip view or a low floor to a high floor being a true upgrade. My reservation was made by a host in Atlantic City and is for the lowest level of room possible. I was hoping I'd be getting some type of an upgrade to a nicer suite with this being not only my 7* trip but also my birthday. I know for the most part these upgrades are based on play and my play for the most part sucks here in Las Vegas due to piss poor games. I know there's no way this place is full either based on the room rates currently being offered on their website and the room types available.

We were given a Samba room which is their basic room but more recently renovated. I protested at check in and the supervisor who was actually checking me in made nothing but excuses. I told her that this would be my last trip to the Rio as I was sick of never getting upgrades and nothing but excuses and once I even booked the upgraded room and didn't get it. However she didn't seem to give a flying fuck which is another problem in itself. She also said she was going to e-mail my Atlantic City host and see why he only booked me into a basic room. Since we were already here I didn't understand WTF good that was going to do.

We were assigned room 33018 and I was not happy about this. After much discussion and much thought I went back to VIP services and asked for the manager of the area. They were in a meeting but the guy I spoke to assured me I'd get a call from them as soon as they were out.

In the meantime we went to lunch over at the Sports book deli. Dee got chicken noodle soup and I got a calzone. The calzone was ok but not typical of what I'm used to in the NY area. While we were waiting for the food I did get the call from the head of VIP services. We spoke and she continued to make excuses about not having any inventory which was bullshit because I checked reservations and those room were all available. I got off the phone and went and met with her in person at her office. We discussed more about how the program says best available room at check in. Eventually as a courtesy since my play does suck, she suddenly found an upgraded room available.

We were now in Carioca Suite 1951 in the Ipanema Tower. This room is huge around 1000 square feet. When you enter you're in a small foyer. To the left is a small ½ bath with a toilet and a vanity. As you enter the living room there is a couch, chair, coffee table, end tables, dresser and flat screen TV. To the left of that is a dining room table that seats 6 but is falling apart and is wobbly. There is also a wet bar area with a sink, coffee make and phone with a fridge underneath.

The to the right of the living/dining room is the bed room. It has 2 queens, a night stand, work desk and flat screen TV. The only issue with the desk is the dummies mounted the TV at desk level so you can't work at the desk and watch TV. It's one or the other.

Both the living room and bed room have views of the Masquerade Tower and the strip from Treasure Island all of the way to City Center.

The bathroom is huge with another dresser in it, closet, dual sinks, make up area, whirlpool tub, shower stall and toilet.

I got our stuff up to the room and got settled in. We hit the casino to give them my nominal amount of play. Things here were not good and we cashed out after I hit one quad and Dee hit none. We only got $4600 in action and dropped another $500.

For dinner we went to the Carnival World buffet. They are running a promo where you earn 50 points and get a free buffet so it's tough to pass up a deal like that. Only to find that they blacked it out for Christmas and the 2 days prior to it. Why the fuck they'd black out a promo on the slowest day of the year is beyond me.

We waited for Yahtzee Mike and Camela to arrive and we would still go to the buffet. In the mean time we played some penny games, the electronic Big 6 Wheel (I know but it was only for a few spins and it was a slow bleed at $1 each) and the electronic craps game with the pop-o-matic dice. After all of that we'd only lost $4!

Mike and Camela got here and I used the LVA coupon for buy one get one and charge the other 3 to the room as part of the $500 folio credit. Mike had some great news and had gotten a dealt royal on 50 play pennies at the Four Queens for $2000. He was pretty excited about this and who could blame him.

After dinner we just took Mike and Camela to the room so they could check it out and we hung out here for a while. They left and I went to the casino for a little while. First was to get the few more points we needed to get the small tier bonus, even though I don't need it, there is a bonus for earning points this quarter that will count towards next year so every point will help especially since I plan on eliminating this company after my 7* trip next year but plan on burning them as often as possible in the mean time.

I played some penny games with no luck at all but got my few points. Next I tried blackjack at 2 different tables and had no luck there either. It wasn't as bad as at TI last night but it wasn't good. Next I tried some craps. I haven't played much craps in the last few years. I was shocked to find a $5 game. It was a fun table but there were too many rookies that were clueless and slowed the game down terribly. This was ok though because we got good play time. The table was hit and miss with a few good shooters and a few bad ones (I was both!). By the time it was over I had won $100 at this table.

All in total for the evening I lose about $300 more on top of the losses from earlier. I was ok with the $300 though because I got like 3 hours of play out of it. If all of our losses got that much play we'd be in a better place right now.

I came back to the room and it wasn't hat late but Dee was already asleep so I just packed it in myself.

Day 16
Thursday December 24, 2015
We started off today with breakfast at Hash House A Go - Go. Dee had some basic breakfast her favorite 2 eggs, potatoes, toast and sausage and I had the famous chicken and waffles. The food here was good but portions are way too big. We again charged the balance to the room to continue working down that $500 folio credit.

Next we went to M to play some video poker and to visit with Jimbo & Katy. We haven't been to M in about 2 years. The last time we were here I had an issue with points, tried to get a manager to help, was promised a phone call the next day and now 2.5 years later I'm still waiting for the phone to ring.

We decided to play triple play deuces. Dee started out on fire getting dealt wild royals, pulling quints and straights one after another. Before long she was up over $200. I on the other hand wasn't hitting shit. I had 2 great hands, dealt queens and dealt fours. Great if you're playing jacks based games that is. I lost track but I think Dee hit like 15 dirty royals while I hit around 3. The bleed started for her though so she cashed out with a $50 win. I wasn't so lucky and dropped 4 bills.

Today was a give away day and for 600 points you get a box of chocolates. I was able to get the max of three, like we needed more candy.

Next we played a new Caddyshack slot. It was fun for a few minutes but it's a game where all of the money is tied up in the bonus rounds. I did ok getting the meter up by $5 but then lost that. I still cashed out with a 5 cent win though!

We left M and went to Jack in the Box for a quick lunch on the road of tacos and milkshakes. Real healthy stuff you know!

From there we went back over to Planet Hollywood to get ready for the evening. Yahtzee Mike scored us tickets to see Recycled Percussion over at the Saxe Theater at Planet Hollywood. Las Vegas Norm also joined us. I effing hate the parking situation at Planet Hollywood but I suffered through it because the self park garage isn't really that far from the theater. It's also not that bad going to the casino if you're not dragging your luggage behind you.

The show consists of music made by playing things like buckets, garbage cans, pipes and anything else that's not typically an instrument that can make noise. It is also interactive and you get to choose your own recycled item to play on during the show when you enter. Overall I thought the show was a lot of fun and the best we've seen so far this trip.

For dinner we went to Planet Dailies at Planet Hollywood. This is actually one of our favorite “coffee shops” in town. I had the BBQ Bacon burger and Dee had the Dailies burger. I also got a small side of their macaroni and cheese which is one my my all time favorites.

After dinner Mike headed back downtown to the Four Queens where they were staying and we took the 327 mile trek though the Miracle Mile Shops to get back to the car. When we got back to the Rio we called it a day and came up here to the room to take it easy and watch TV before getting some sleep.

Day 17
Friday December 25, 2015
Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday to ME!
Today is my birthday and I am now 45. It's amazing to me that I've been writing these Christmas/Birthday reports since 1998 when I turned 28 years old! Traditionally I don't do well with the gaming on my birthday. There have been a few exceptions and when I do win, it's usually big.

We started the day with breakfast at the deli. We both got a ham, egg and cheese and a bagel. I was expecting a wimpy little sandwich but these things were huge and even came with breakfast potatoes. It was way too much food and 1 to split would have been enough.

We went to the Orleans today for some video poker action and for some 7x points on my B-Connected Card. When I swiped to activate the multiple points there was a birthday greeting and a game to play. I got to pick one of 5 balloons and the balloon I picked was for 1000 points. Yeah baby, Happy Birthday to me and my newly won $1 in points. Assholes.

Today we chose to play a progressive bank with deuces wild. The progressives move fast on these banks and were at $1400, $1700 and $2200 on each royal. There was also a super jackpot for a dealt royal at almost $700. Things stared off well here with both of us hitting deuces. Dee also got dealt a wild royal. Then she got dealt 4 to a royal and whiffed. I also got dealt 4 to a royal and had the same thing happen. Later on it happened again. Thins time I didn't whiff though. I nailed the dreaded king high straight flush for a whopping 45 coins! It was actually the second natural straight flush I'd hit today. Things turned and got ugly and after being up we actually ended the session down $300.

We moved to a bank of Spin Poker machines and I didn't realize they were Deluxe until Dee took her first few spins and was betting $25 a spin. Ouch. It worked out when she got dealt trips and nailed a few quads. I got out even and she won $200 and we got out of the Orleans down only $100 on 10k in action.

The next stop was the Palms. I had some match play coupons and some coupons for free play for earning a certain amount of points. I found some triple/five play games with 9/6 jacks so we sat down. Instantly we were down $400 before things leveled off. I hit a few quads in my hail Mary attempts and so did Dee. The worst was Dee hitting aces on 2 lines, aces on one line and aces with a kicker when she was on jacks. She did hit threes on DDB though and got back into it. We still dropped about $200 between us and had enough points to cash in the coupon for $25 free play.

At the players club I got the coupon redeemed and they also let me double dip the points on a promo they were running for an additional $10 in cash. We took the free play and ran it through a penny slot. We got some hits but nothing great and cashed out at $20.

The final play was to hit the tables and run some match plays. I played black and hit for another $20 win getting us out of there down only $100. I wanted to run more match plays but there was only one pit open and didn't want to push it.

For dinner Yahtzee Mike and Camela came to the Rio for my birthday dinner as well as Gary. His birthday was the day we got here so we're celebrating his birthday too. We went to the All American Bar & Grill. I tried the ribs and Dee tried the fish and chips. Her fish was standard issue. My ribs were good and meaty especially compared to the ribs I had at the Triple 7 last week. We had a great time together telling stories from the past and enjoying a good meal.

After dinner we went over to the Gold Coast to get some action in. They were also running 15x/11x/7x points like the Orleans. We stared off with 9/6 jacks. Things were steady here but I was starting to get beat up. Dee was hovering the whole time and popped 2 quads a few minutes apart to stay alive. I dwindles down to $20 and switched to DDB and popped quad fours to get back into it. After over an hour we cashed out even.

We went to the triple/five play machines. I was doing well hitting a few quads to keep alive an hovering. Dee was getting beat up and needed a few bills. Once I started getting beat up I switched over to DDB and hit quad fours. We eventually ended up down $300 total for the time we were at the Gold Coast and ran another 10k through the machines.

With the points I had in my account and all of the multiple points we scored this trip I cashed in $500 worth of points at the machine for free play. I ran this through the five play machine and actually got out dead even at $500. This got us out of the Gold Coast up $200 which offset the $100 at Orleans and $100 at Palms. This is more like what we're used to!

Mike and Camela were staying here tonight so they went up to their room and we headed back over to the Rio where we wrapped it up for the night.

Day 18
Saturday December 26, 2015
Happy Boxing Day to my Canadian readers!
This morning started us out at Einstein Brothers for some quick food. Next up was another stop at the bank. I'm not liking all of these stops to the bank.

Our play today was at the D. The plan was to get Dee a card and have her turn in the $25 match play coupon for new members. She was also eligible for a promo for $5 free play for every 50 points earned up to $100.

We hit the 50¢ deuces machines and proceeded to get our asses kicked. We were feeding in bill after bill. It was one of the worst session of deuces I've ever played. I didn't hit any wild royals and Dee only hit 2 the whole time we played. Quints were also sparse. We finally hit the 10k we planned on doing and dropped a grand doing it. I just can't believe the lack of luck and lack of play we're getting this trip and it just won't turn.

We went to use Dee's match play and chose black on roulette. Red came up.

We got Dee's free play added to her card and ran it through a quarter 8/5 bonus machines with a progressive. She had some full houses and flushes and cashed it out at $105.

For a quick lunch we went to Coney Island Hot dogs and used a coupon for a free dog. The dogs are good but at $4 a pop they are just too expensive.

We came back here to the Rio and I dropped Dee off. She was going to read and chill and I was off to the Pinball Hall of Fame. This is always a good cheap afternoon of fun. The place was packed but there are so many machines you can still play. On the way back it took me 45 minutes to get back here. The New Year's Eve crowd is rolling in and the area around the strip is a zoo.

For dinner we went to The All American Bar and Grill again. I had a filet mignon tonight and Dee had the Chicken and pasta. The filet was excellent and melted in my mouth but it was a bit under cooked. I order filet rare because if they ever cook it it's still edible. Today it was a little less than rare. The doesn't bother me and I sure wasn't going to send it back and risk them destroying it.

This was Yahtzee Mike's last night in town so we said our good – byes and wrapped up another good time with him. We won't be seeing him again until next summer at the soonest.

We came back up to the room and started getting ready for tomorrow's move. We finished up with some TV and then bed.

Day 19
Sunday December 27, 2015
Once we were up we finished packing up our things and got ready to move. I went to the VIP registration to get my balance and to settle the bill. We actually went over the $500 by $36 so I used points to cover the balance and we were on our way.

For lunch we stopped at McDonald's. I know it's crap and we've got more comps than we know what to do with but sometimes you just want crap. I got a couple McDouble's and ordered an Egg McMuffin value meal for Dee. So when I get to the window to get the food the asshole only entered an Egg McMuffin so Dee got no hash brown or coffee. Eff 'em. I stopped at a convenience store and got her a coffee.

We headed out to Summerlin where we'd be spending our final 4 nights at the Rampart. I booked thee nights on mail offers we got. Dee got 2 nights, $350 free play and $15 in food. My offer which we'll be using for the last 2 nights is for $300 in free play. The odd inconsistencies here are baffling to me since we do almost identical play on my card and hers yet her offers are typically better than mine are.

When we arrived checking in was easy. Our room wasn't ready and they took my phone number to call us when it was ready. While we waited we went to the casino.

We started off with $1 9/6 jacks or better. I loaded both machines with $500 and covered the credit meters up so we couldn't see the swings. We would only look at the meter after we hit a quad. We both hit quads right away and then plugged along from there. I knew I was going through some swings and Dee said she was too. We couldn't tell how bad they were though. I was popping quite a few quads and each time I looked my meter was higher. Dee wasn't hitting as many but was still within expectation. Ion the other hand was up to my 8th quad including dealt 4's. When I checked the meter I was up $650. Dee finally hit her second quad and looked at the meter expecting to be down around $400 and was shocked to see that she was up five bucks! We continued to play and then we got the call the room was ready. Didn't matter, I wasn't leaving this machine! I knew I had dropped below the $1000 mark because the meter moved over a digit on the screen (I only had the $ amount covered). I played another hand and got it to $1000 and cashed out with a $500 win. Dee flipped her cover over and saw she was down $50 so all in total we just did 11k in action and actually won $450. So far so good for today.

We went to the front desk to get our keys and were off to the Palm Tower. We were assigned room 3246. This is room has 2 queen beds, a night stand, work desk, arm chair, dresser and flat screen TV. There is a small counter with coffee maker and fridge (a real one, not those odd coolers that some of the rooms here have). It has a view of the golf course off in the distance as well as Summerlin Parkway. The bathroom has 2 sinks, a Jacuzzi tub, standing shower stall and toilet room. Based on the room we had last trip and the action we give this place I have to say I was a little disappointed in the room we were given this time around. My guess is because we're kind of rolling into the NYE weekend and everything is probably sold out.

We got our things into the room and took a break for a while before we went back out and hit the small gym here in the hotel tower. It's been too long for Dee to go without some exercise so we need to get back on track.

When we were done at the gym we hit the casino and got Dee's free play activated and her food voucher.

Then we started pounding away at the video poker machines again. Things here were ok but not great. I was only hit with one quad this time and Dee had a few. The end result was a loss of $600. Combined with the $450 win earlier we were now down $150 which really isn't terrible considering dollar play and over 20k in action. If the whole trip was like this we wouldn't be in the hole we're in.

For a late dinner we went to the Promenade Cafe. I got the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and Dee had the Angus burger off of the 3 for $10 menu. My appetizer was a quesadilla and Dee got the chicken egg rolls and we shared. For dessert we both got the apple cobbler.

We had Dee's free play to run through and we chose 9/6 jacks to do this for halves. There were some hits and she turned the free play into $210 cash.

We took another shot at video poker for dollars after that. Dee hit a couple of quads and shot her meter up while I hovered. She was up over $200 and I was never up more than $60. We decided she'd quit at $300 and I'd quit even giving us a small win.

To wrap up the night we played a variety of penny slots. We hit one machine for a nice bonus round and got something like 75 free spins. They all added up to about a $50 profit. We played for quite a while on that profit and then quit with only a 17¢ win. Don't knock it. We need it! Actually we found more money in abandoned credits, left tickets and coins laying on the floor.

It has been a long day so we came up to the room and jumped in bed.

Day 20
Monday December 28, 2015
We headed out to Aliante to meet with Jimbo & Katy and Carol for lunch at the Medley Buffet at Aliante.

Once we were fed it we went and checked out Jimbo & Katy's suite. We hung out here just telling stories and then was off to the video poker machines again. We started off with 8/5 bonus for halves. We were doing well and hitting plenty of quads. Dee hit aces, deuces, got dealt kings and a few others. I got dealt sizes and hit a variety of other quads too. Dee was up quite a bit but things turned and she cashed out with a $100 win. I also cashed out with a $100 win for a decent nonstarter. I also had $30 in free play from a mail offer so we ran that through one of Dee's favorite penny slots. This didn't work out so well and the $30 turned into $14. Not great but it's still 14 bucks.

We left Aliante and came back here to the Rampart where we had gotten no action at all yet today. First thing we did was get Dee's free play activated at the kiosk, then a stop at the players club to add in a $10 free play coupon from the LVA coupon book and then it was off to the machines. We hit the dollar 9/6 jacks games again and loaded the machines and covered up the meters so we wouldn't see the swings. Dee was doing well with a lot of full houses and flushes. I wasn't hitting many of those but did hit more quads than expected. I noticed Dee's meter moved over a notch and considering at that point she hadn't hit any quads I wasn't surprised. We lifted her cover and she was down to $80. She switched to DDB in a hail Mary attempt and still didn't hit a quad. I looked at my meter and I was down $250, most of which probably happened in the last few minutes as I had gone through a streak of losing about 25 of the last 30 hands. That's just an estimate but it had to be close. I switched to DDB for the last $50 and was going to cash out $200 when I hit a regular quad for $250. I got out of the session only down $50 and $550 combined for all the play.

We decided to take a break for a late dinner at the Promanade Cafe. I had the chicken pot pie as part of the 3 for menu. I also got the quesadilla and apple cobbler. Dee got spaghetti and meatballs, a salad and apple cobbler.

After the meal it was back to the machines. Dee ran her free play through the 50¢ jacks and then also redeemed $200 worth of points for a total of $385 in free play. She didn't hit much of anything and turned it into just over $300. We took a shot at one more session for $200 each. I started out hot with 3 full houses and 2 flushes in my first few hands shooting the meter up by over $100. I hovered on this for a while and Dee did ok for a while too getting up almost $100 with no quads. As her credits dwindled she took a shot at DDB hoping for her first quad of the night but it never came and she dropped $100. I was up $105 took a 1 hand shot at DDB and actually ended up getting 4 hands out of it but no quads and combined we cashed out even.

We had gotten enough play in for the 2 days on Dee's card so we decided to just come here to the room and watch TV for a while before bed.

Day 21
Tuesday December 29, 2015
We slept in this morning and started off the day by running some end of trip errands as this trip is winding down at a rapid pace.

When we got back we got my free play activated and hit the machines. We played the dollar jacks again today. Things were rough going at first but then Dee started hitting quads. I got dealt quad 7's and that would be my only quad for the session. Dee popped a bunch including aces with a kicker as we frequently do on jacks. Dee wanted to take a break so we stopped at the 8k mark and between us were only down $75.

After our break we hit a late lunch/early dinner at the Irish Pub. I had their Sheppard's pie which is one of my favorites and Dee had a Cobb Salad. The food was good here and came out really fast.

We went back to the casino and started pounding away for the day on the 9/6 jacks again. This session was not good at all. Dee hit only one quad and I didn't hit any. Between us we both dropped $500 for one of the worst losses ever for us playing 9/6 jacks.

We ran my free play though 50¢ jacks and this wasn't very good. My $150 only turned into $110.

Dee wasn't feeling well so we came back up to the room and she decided to stay in for the rest of the night. I went back to the casino and played some blackjack. This was a pretty good table but had it's moments. It seemed like every time there was a lot of money on the table from splits and doubles the dealer would pull a 21. It smoothed out and things got good for a while. The dealer was busting often and I was hitting my doubles. I was up $800 and cashed out with a $500 win.

Next up I played some VP. Again with the $1 jacks and I hit a quad almost immediately. I cashed out with a $100 win and played a bunch of penny games. I didn't get much play out of them and the $100 I won on VP was gone.

Now it was time for some craps. I bought in and the table was choppy at best. Things weren't looking good until we had a few good shooters and I got back up. It got choppy again and I ended up losing about $400.

In total tonight I played various games for about 5 hours and actually squeaked out a small win of under 100 bucks. I'll take it though.

For a late night snack I went to the Promenade Cafe and got an order of chicken wings. It was just the right size with 6 pieces, 2 carrots and 2 celery.

I got back to the room at about 12:30am and went to bed.

Day 22
Wednesday December 30, 2015
Today is the last full day of the trip. We started with a late breakfast/early lunch at the buffet. The buffet wasn't open yet so in the few minutes we had we played some video poker. There wasn't anything to mention here except for Dee losing $100 and me hitting a quad and winning $100.

The buffet was open now so we went to lunch. This buffet is pretty basic but with a price of $7 with a player's card it's tough to beat.

After lunch we went running out to pick up the laundry that I dropped off yesterday and then a quick stop at the post office to mail a few things out.

When we got back we played more video poker. Today is 2x points on video poker so we planned on making up the difference from yesterday when we were a bit short of our daily goal here. This session was not good and we both got our asses handed to us to the tune of a 9 bills.

We changed things up a bit and played some penny games for a while. That wasn't any good either and we only hit one bonus round on all of the machines we tried.

Next we tried some short pay deuces wild at 5 play for 50¢. I hit deuces shortly after we started and Dee was hitting a ton of quints. We continued to pound around but the next thing we knew Dee had busted out and I was down $100 even after hitting deuces.

For our final dinner we went to the Promenade Cafe. I had the meatloaf and Dee had the California Scramble. This place was packed and the service was a little slow but the food was decent.

After dinner we played a bit more deuces and Dee hit deuces right away. I was getting pounded and dropped $300 while she won $400 and finished the session with $100 profit.

The next thing we did was to run my free play through the 50¢ jacks or better. I also downloaded an additional $100 in free play for points. Of the $250 in free play I cashed out exactly $250 thanks to a quad.

We came back to the room and packed up our stuff for tomorrow's trip home except for what we needed in the morning, checked the flights and found that our flight was changed from 11am to 9am. I'm not amused by this and I'm not looking forward to getting up that early in the morning to go to the airport.

I wrapped up the night surfing the net and getting caught up on e-mails before going to bed.

Day 23
Thursday December 31, 2015
We were up really early today with out flight now set for 9:00am. Once we were ready we packed up the last of our stuff and headed out to the car.

I stopped to gas up the car and then we headed to the rental car facility. Returning was quick and it was pretty slow at the car facility. We waited a while for the shuttle but the ride to the airport was smooth sailing.

Once we were in the airport checking in was quick. Then we were on to security that also went well. It was pretty slow in the airport this morning probably because it was NYE and everyone else was staying in town today.

When we finally boarded we were part of the pre board process so Dee could get to our seats without people slamming into her.

This is flight 677 scheduled to depart at 9:00am to Philadelphia with a scheduled flight time of 4 hours and 41 minutes. Once we were all settled in the captain came on and told us it was going to take 3 hours and 30 minutes due to some serious tail winds.

The flight was smooth and I passed most of the time be sleeping and playing games on my tablet. Dee slept through most of the flight too. During the flight the captain came on the PA and said we were well ahead of schedule thanks to 165 MPH tail winds and we were moving at close to 650 mph because of them. That was very impressive!

We arrived in Philly and shuttled to terminal F where we would catch the second leg of the flight. Once we were boarded and pushed back the captain told us it would take 45 minutes. This was flight 4812 from Philly to Stewart – Newburgh and was smooth. It was neat seeing the local area from up above.

We arrived in Newburgh at 6:30 pm. I got our luggage and set Dee up where she could wait for me to come back. I walked down to the plant where I work to pick up the and then back up to the terminal to get Dee.

Fifteen minutes later we pulled into the driveway and yet another Christmas/Birthday came to an end.

Final Thoughts
It was nice to fly out of the local airport and avoid pre trip hotels

It was great to spend so much time with our friends this trip
The weather was streaky this trip with temps in the 20's some nights and up to the 70's during some days
It was fun to play more deuces wild this trip
We played 229,000 hands of video poker this trip
We got 106 scratch cards at Main Street Station worth $225 (99 @ $2, 4 @ $3, 3 @ $5)

Awesome trip report - but now I'm depressed and wonder if I should fly to Vegas from New Zealand in March. LOL. Nah, look, losses are inevitable and come along from time to time. Hopefully in your next trip you'll end up on the plus side instead.
I have had a few bad trips, but your gambling on this trip was like one of my worst nightmares. Here's hoping the
next trip is one of your best. Thanks for sharing the pain with us.
Always enjoy reading your trip reports especially your final thoughts and eff yous. Thanks for posting!
Super Report, great detail as usual, sorry about the losses
Thanks, James for the report and for all of the great details! So sorry to read about all of Team Stungazed's losses!

As for the Elvis impersonator, I think that that might have been due to the fact that Elvis had connections to both LV as well as Hawaii since he did the "Blue Hawaii" movie as well as a major worldwide aired concert there.

I also forgot to mention that I'm happy that you weren't staying at Linq when it was raining because the IP/Quad/Linq parking lot is part of the Flamingo Wash and it is prone to flooding when it rains. There is video of that on Youtube!

This is a major hazard and I don't know why the public has not been warned/advised about that more!
