We slept in again and woke up really hungry. I had a free buffet at Sam’s Town which I had earned earlier using the ACG coupon. We headed over there for the lunch buffet. I used some points to cover Kim’s. It was good as usual and hit the spot. Joe and Tonya were coming over for the girls to swim at the Eastside Cannery pool so we headed back to our room.
Joe and I headed over to Sam’s Town while the girls went swimming. We sit down at a 2-6 spread limit hold-em game. We played there for about an hour when Joe had the itch to play the machines. While he was up, a seat opened at the 3-6 Omaha Hi Low game so I moved over there. Shortly after the hold-em game broke up and Joe came back to find his chips the only ones on the table. It soon started up again. I had a nice session and cashed out $141 after about 3 hours of play.
We headed back to South Point and Kim and I went to the strip to play tourist for a little bit. We visited M and M’s world and the Coca Cola place. We drove down the strip then headed to South Point for the Saturday Night Seafood Buffet. We also wanted to see the “Spazmatics” at 9:00. It was already 7:00 so we decided to just use the one voucher we earned yesterday and Kim would pay with some points on her card. It was crab legs night so I went on a feeding frenzy again. We finished and had a little time to kill before the show so we played nickel video poker and I won $10 while Kim lost $10 to make us even.
The “Spazematics” was in the same theater as the show the night before. It was again $5 to get it, but when there was ample seating for “Metal Shop” it was packed for this band. They played several types of 80’s music with early new wave all the way to late 80’s rap. I didn’t care much for the rap songs, but loved the early 80’s songs. They threw some humor in between songs and it was a great show that went about 3 hours. We headed back to our room once the show was over.

Today is sad because it is moving day and it is our last moving day for Las Vegas. We are going to spend one night at the Suncoast that Kim has comped on her Sapphire card. We then going back through Laughlin one night before the long trek home. In the mean time we need to get as much fun in as we can before we have to leave. Before we leave we had a couple of match plays at the Eastside Cannery. I won my $10 match play but Kim lost hers. We then went across the street to the Longhorn for the ACG $5 match play. I won again while Kim lost again. We decided to go to the pinball hall of fame again before we headed out to Summerland. We killed a couple of hours and $15 in quarters before we hit Inn out Burgers for a late lunch.
We went to check in at the Suncoast and I decided to give a try at one additional day for our trip so I asked what it would run for one additional night. She said $50 plus the resort fee. Crap we would be paying our first resort fee of the trip. Kim was all for two nights at the Suncoast so we went ahead and got the 2nd night. Our room was on the 6th floor and had a few directly above the pool and the golf course. The rooms have floor to ceiling windows and are the nicest of the Boyd Casinos by far.
We had no plans, but when we went downstairs we saw a promotion where if you put 1200 points on your card you got a free movie and dinner. We decided to go for it. We also doubled up the promotion by using the ACG coupons for 5x points. I went to one of the bars and played quarter 8-5 bonus. I usually avoid quarters, but they had yet another promotion where you got $25 free play for each quad you hit in 5’s thru 9’s. You couldn’t duplicate a number, but in theory you could get $125 if you hit each individual quad from 5 to 9. Kim settled for some nickel three play 9-6-5 progressives. I lost my first $20 bill in no time. I moved machines and got some play on the 2nd one. I eventually lost my 2nd $20 and decided to put $100 in. It was a slow drain along the way.
Joe and Tonya decided to come out a play a little, but they didn’t go for the promotion. I was down around $100 and Joe was hitting some quads beside me along with a straight flush. He was up almost $100 at the time. I finally hit a quad and it was quad 7’s so I stopped so they could confirm my quads. They said the free play would be on my card in about 10 minutes. Shortly after I hit quad 8’s and had the bar tender confirm this for another $25 in free play. I was only $30 down at this point and needed about 300 more points. The remaining 300 points cost me another $80 with no quads to show for it. Joe in the meantime was in a slow bleed and decided to quit with a $50 profit.
I went over to check on Kim. She was at a point total of 700 and was at the tail end of losing her 2nd $20 bill. I gave her $40 more and told her I would play my free play there then put her card in to help her the rest of the way. I sit down at her same bank and was dealt quad queens for a little come back during my free play. I pretty well floated at the $50 down mark for the rest of time while Kim lost another $18. So we met our goal with Kim being $68 and me being $50 down. So our dinner and movie was going to cost us $118, but we also got a combined 12000 in points which is equal to $20 in comps.
We went to the kiosk to get our voucher for the movie and dinner. We then had to go to the player’s club to get the official voucher for each. We went to the booth and the lady asked at what time we wanted our reservations for. Reservations? I thought the meal would be a buffet or at the coffee shop. We actually had earned a comp to the steak house. We set our reservations for the earliest time we could which was 7:30. It was only 6:00 and Kim was ready for a nap. I walked her up promising I would come up around 7:15 and decided to play for another hour. I went down stairs and found a 2nd bank of nickel progressives with the same pay table as the others by the poker room. I sit down to play and hit quad aces on two different occasions. I cashed out $50 up putting me even for the day so our meal and movies was down to costing us $68.
I went up and Kim was awake so we headed to the Steak House. We took the elevator up to the swanky steak house. We had three options to order from so we got a steak and shrimp combo called surf and turf. It was excellent and free so we really enjoyed the atmosphere and great food. We then headed down to catch a 9:00 movie. We decided to see “Trainwreck” which was funny in spots. It wasn’t bad since it was sorta “free”. It was almost 11 when we got out and Kim wasn’t feeling well so I took her up to the room and tucked her in and asked if I could go down for a little longer. I went back to the same bank of machines by the poker room and went on another run of aces. I was as far as $100 up, but then the tailspin started. I decided to cash out $50 up. Our final tally for the day was me being $50 up and Kim being $18 down. We got two nice steak dinners out of it, two free movies, and $28 additional comp value.

This was sadly our last full day in Las Vegas. We got up late in the morning and decided to play for our lunch. We could put 300 points on our cards and get the lunch buffet. We both lost $20 playing the triple play nickel progressives. With lunch costing $9 this wasn’t too bad off. We had lunch then meet with Joe and Tonya.
We took a road trip up to Mt. Charleston. This was the first trip for Joe and Tonya. It was 30 degrees cooler than it was in the valley. We just enjoyed the scenery and walked around a little. We then headed back to the Suncoast. The girls went swimming while Joe and I headed to the poker room. We got a seat in the 2-4 limit hold-em game. I made a gradual grind to a nice $93 dollar win after 4 hours of play.
We were getting hungry by then and decided to try the surf and turf in the café. It was a nice meal that ran $9.99 and included steak and shrimp as the main course. Soup and salad came with it as well. I paid for our meal with points. At that time everyone was tired so we said our goodbyes and called it a day.

It is the day I was dreading. We packed our bags to start the trip back home. We decide we might as well play a little before we leave. No reason to leave too early and pass up getting another free buffet here at Suncoast. We go back to our trusted triple play nickels and we hit enough quads to make it a promotion look good. I cash out $20 up and Kim cashes out $30 up after 300 points. We enjoy the lunch buffet and head out. We don’t travel long as we head into the Rampart to take advantage of a couple of coupons. I win $8 on the $10 free play, but lose my match play for only a $3 win.
We stop at Sam’s Town for a little more action on their triple play 10 coin 2 cent machines. It is 7 times points so we want to milk one last proportion. We play for about 2 hours and I play the whole time on my first $20. I eventually cash out $10 down. Kim started out slow and lost her first $20 quickly. She put another in and lost it quickly. Her third twenty stayed in action for a long time, but we decided to call it quits when she lost it.
I had won a free buffet at Fiesta earlier in the week so we decided to eat there for dinner before we headed out. Since it was getting late, I convinced Kim to use the voucher I had for $5 at the Aquarius and just spend the night in Laughlin tonight. I had to agree in no gaming in Laughlin on the 22nd so we could get on the road. We had the buffet and it was nice as usual.
We were heading out the casino when we decided to swipe our cards for the heck of it. The Fiesta had a promotion of a mystery multiplier for the day. Kim got 7x points on her card so we decided to play just a little more before we left. We went to our usual ten play penny progressives. We both only needed on twenty to play. I was getting enough quads and dealt three of a kinds to always stay in the black. We played about 2 hours and I cashed out $20 up. Kim was dealt quad 4’s and quad 3’s so she had a great last session cashing out $80 up.
We headed out and down Hwy 95 to Laughlin. Kim took a nap and slept as we descended into Laughlin. I love that drive at night seeing the lights. It was a little after midnight when we checked in. My first thoughts was just head to bed. We had left Las Vegas with close to $300 more than what we came with. But NO! We couldn’t resist one last chance to play. I dabbled in some nickels dream card and quickly lost $60. I then found a ten play nickel that had 9-6 double double bonus. I put in $20 and lost it then put in $100 and went up a little then on the skids. When the smoke cleared I had lost $180 in a little less than 2 hours. Kim had quit a little before me losing $40 in the single line machines.
To add injury to the trip, we saw a slot machine that had those China theme with the most go progressive. The progressive was at $486 and must go at $500. I put a $20 in and played on it for about 40 minutes. I finally lost my $20 then put a $100 in and couldn’t hit sqat. I finally quit after dumping $80 into the dumb machine. I felt like I had gone on tilt the last two hours of being up. We took the long slow walk of defeat back to the room.
