Summer of Cal/Nev Day 14

Summer of Cal/Nev – Day 14

Today’s report is going to be a short one! Because of the heat, I decided to stay in the hotel the entire day. I pretty much hung around the room for a while—watched TV, caught up on emails, social media, Words With Friends, and a couple of chapters from the book.

I did go down to the buffet and had breakfast while reading the newspaper. The country is all a-flitter over the Supreme Court rulings. I will never you these reports for personal political commentary—but let’s move on, folks!

Today is the day I was going to play. I waited for my final scratch off to see if I’d have any money to play with. As you might remember, I predicted $15/$15/$25. Boy was I wrong! It turned out to be $15/$15/$15. It was the lowest possible for all three days. I took the $45 and put it into one of the 9/6 Jacks along with a hundred of my own. After 245 points ($2450 coin in), my money was gone. Considering I got only one quad the entire session, I suppose I did all right. It’s been a totally rotten gambling stop at Laughlin this time around. Better luck next time.

Such a tease!

I did venture down to the water taxi pier to take a picture of the people braving the heat.

This is what crazy people look like: It's 121 degrees!

Aside from this, I really didn’t do anything else today. I’m going to try to get to sleep around 6 PM so I can get a 4 AM start to Palm Springs.

My apologies for the very short report—some days, ya just don’t do much!

Thanks JMan for the report and that stinks that you got $15 each day.

I do wonder now whether when you were speaking to that other woman about the scratch cards, if she might have gotten what appeared to be bigger possible rewards due to the fact that she was a lower roller and they might want to be further attracting her since they know that you are "fairly committed" to them (or what they think is hooked).

And also, I want to let you know that effective July 1st, the State Gasoline Tax rate is going up to I think 39 Cents. They were saying on the news that between State and Federal Gas Taxes, California's Gas Tax will now be 72 Cents Per Gallon which is supposedly the Nation's highest!

And so if you're still in California before July 1st but on July 1st as well, if you fill up on June 30th, you'll save another few cents a gallon!

If I remember correctly, that Colorado River water is cold, so those sunbathers can cool off in the 121 degree heat!
the days you don't do much are sometimes the best, enjoy and relax!!! thanks for the reports.
