TB's long TR, July/August 2012

Hey TB,

Thanks for the nice report and I'm happy that you didn't do too badly! As for the Blackjack, for me, both of the occasions that you described felt like a punch in the gut for me.

And as for Bigfus' experiences, that couldn't have happened to a better person. I met up with her some years ago at El Cortez and wandered around with her around Downtown for a while.

If I'm remembering correctly, we also played some Pick 'Em and I do like those uprights (and most especially the Slant-tops) at Fremont.

RecVPPlayer
RecVP,
I'm used to getting hit in the gut by blackjack... and poker ... and bled by VP. Ugh!

But it was a welcome change for this last trip where I hit repeatedly.

And yes, absolutely, those nice hits for Bigfus couldn't happen to a nicer person.
Hey, TB, maybe I'm the next human on earth to break a Deuces jinx. They laugh at me. So happy for you and your Deuces trip!

Thanks for the report on Clint Holmes' show. We used to see his show at Harrahs every trip. Same routine mostly, still loved it, his big voice and great back ups.

Would love to share a Blackjack table with you some time!
Sorry for the duplication.

Candy,
It wasn't only me catching the ducks. Judy had something like four on the trip. Harv had two in one evening. I still can't believe it. I worry we've shot the pond clear. It may take another winter before the ducks return to Vegas.

As for Clint, if you liked him at Harrah's (I saw him there), I think you'll really like his show at the Smith Center Jazz Cabaret. For next trip, plan to be there the first weekend of the month. That's when he appears. And there are regulars in the audience.
I guess I ought to look at the LVA Forums more often, since I just read your report today. Glad to share another summer vacation with you. We'll have to see what the future of the big ECLVA trips will be.

Sorry I missed Clint Holmes + it sounds like I also could've caught up on some rest during Jubilee. I did join in the Deuces action, with my first quad deuces on a quarter machine at Ellis Island early in the trip.

I thought the Rio buffet was better than in recent years and thought the quality of food at the Red Rock buffet was also pretty good. You're right that there were no amazing meals on this trip, but I was pleased with the food in the group and other meals. The most impressive food layout was the bar setup at the MPT.
