I am currently working a long term project in Phoenix, which will enable frequent trips to Vegas.
I started with a 99.97% clean air JB flight from NY to Phoenix. Rather than flying to Vegas we drove 4.5 hours if we didn't stop. We stopped for lunch so it took 5 hours. If anybody is looking for DB Cooper he is hiding on this stretch of road.
Stayed in a Hilton Home 2 suites with my Diamond points on LVB just south of the airport.
Overall I lost a little the wife won a little. We gambled at the TI, Resorts World (really nice place) Orleans & Southpoint. We did the best at Southpoint.
We had one dinner at Bob Taylor's Ranch House - very good. I remember eating there when it was the only place on the road.
Had lunch at Rocco's Pizza, very good NY style pizza. Owner is from the Da Bronx & there are a few of them, one across from Mandalay Bay.
Ate at the Chinese place in the Orleans with friends, prfetty good (small portions)
Tried the buffet at Southpoint (have to eat a buffet in Vegas) - fair
Headed back in December to see Jim Gaffigan
