Just got around to reading your TR this morning! I found it interesting that you were able to call down to the front desk and have the resort fees taken off your bill because you weren't going to use the spa. I have five comped nights at the RIO coming up in December, except they ARE charging me the $20/night resort fee. Perhaps I should try challenging it upon arrival? I don't really care if I can't use the spa and/or internet.
Hate it when people get sick in the pool!! The very same thing happened at the RIO last September when I was there, but I didn't know about it until someone in a lounger told us someone had just gotten sick in the same area where we had just entered the pool.
Also, nice score on the Escape over the compact!
