Trip report 9-7 to 9-14

We flew out late on Allegaint for 286 round trip, and rented a full size car from fox for 172 all in .  We bouced around alot this trip, but our first night was a comped night at Green Valley Ranch with 50 food credit and 200 free play.

After checking in we got some 9 spot live keno way tickets for a quater a game , and then hit the bars for some play and a few snacks.  We also played a little at the hot pots.  Called it a night after a couple hours and up a little thanks to the free play

       More latter

Day 2 monday we used our food credit at the cafe and ordered way too much food, but the extra fruit plate was great.  We made some sports book bets and reinvested on our keno tickets after getting half our money back.  We played at the bars and had a few mimosas with no big wins or losses.  We made a little playing the hot pots and then checked out and  headed to the Rio.

The Rio feels better each time we stop in.   The casino was pretty busy for the first time in years.  They have added alot of new machines and the tables were pretty busy too for a monday.  We had hoped to maybe have free play but did not.  We did recieve an offer for 3 free nights and no resort fee if we book by the end of sept.  I made about 80 bucks on Whitney Houston, but gave half of it back on another 2 similar games

Next stop was the Palms to use our 2 for 1 coupon from LVA and use 30 dollars in free play.  The buffet was much better than last time.  Great  brisket, bar bq , potato soup and crab legs and the salads were all fresh.  Lots for good food and deserts.  We took a couple macaroons for latter.   I lost money playing Whitney Houston, which I think has run it's coarse.  The wife had a great session on dragon links and cashed out a couple hundred.

We then went to Resorts World to check in for a 3 night comped stay in the Crockfords.  No resort fee or parking fee and 25 in free play.  These are some of the nicest rooms we have ever stayed in .  We had a fun night playing at the bars and the Kong Skull Island slot was on fire. You had to be quick when someone got up if you wanted to have a turn.  We also had a good hit at one of the new buffalo games.  I was getting 15 dollars free play each hour at the bars for some reason just kept popping up on the screen.  The wife got nothing, but she had the 30 in free play  when we checked in.  Overall a really fun night.

The unexpected free play is always a great thing.  On a couple of trips earlier this year, my wife and I had a set amount of free play for our stay at the Westgate...her- $300 and me- $200, but then after we ran through that free play, we noticed that the Free Play icon was still lit up, and lo and behold, we each had another $100.   Not sure why, and we never did ask.  On the Labor Day trip this didn't occur, so it might have been some kind of weird computer glitch.

Great trip report!!

Did you know that themed slots return 3-4% less than regular slots, due to part of the profits going to whomever holds the copyright/license/etc.?

I mean, slots are a financial disaster, but there's a lot of variation between the worst slots and the best ones. The one redeeming virtue is that properly timed slot play can generate good offers. That combined with promos can reduce that ol' -EV.

Day 3 tuesday we  had a free light breakfast at Resorts World, and went to Gold coast to Play at Boyd for the 10 times multipier day.   We made some sports book bets and played a little on the floor, but the smoke said it was time to leave after a couple hours.

Next stop was Red Rocks for taco tuesday at Rubios.  They have half price fish tacos on tuesday, and are the best we have ever had.  They do have other locations.  Get the Loaded ones for 2.39 on tuesday.  You only need 2 each.  We played a new train game, and I lost 40 and the wife won 80.  I was not happy, I think I was tricked into it, but the bars were about the same.

We then headed to the Suncoast to play bingo in the new room and claim the free blue pack on tuesdays..  We decided to split which was a good call for me as the wife hit the 2nd chance coverall for 250.  We decided to hit the high limit bar to celebrate, and had a good session whith both of us up about 40.

Dinner was La Michican on Rainbow and twain.  Great food and the shrimp civiche stole the show.  The live music was also a treat  Then back to Resorts World for the night.  Long story short, we did not hit anything.  The bars were cold, Kong was cold and nobody played this gane the rest of our trip anywhere.  Which did not stop us from dumping 40  in this night. The Alle lounge was closed for a private party, but we were stuborn at the other bars and lost a couple hundred before calling it a night.

Other than the finish, it seemed like you had a pretty good day.   We had the burrito at the Red Rock Rubios on Labor Day.  Have to say it was pretty good.   If you guys really like Mexican, check out the Lindo Michoacan at Palace Station.  Excellent service and their weekday lunch specials are pretty good.  The casino is also not near as smokey as it was a number of years ago.

Thanks Edso, that place looks good.  I am going to plug LVA, and possibly the American casino guide back in the day .  We go to Palace Station every trip for the last10 years min. beause they once had a 2 for 1 coupon for the mexican resturant that was east of the table pit.  We Also go to the Orleans almost every trip for the last 10 years min, because they had a 2 for 1 coupon for the mexican resturant.  We also go the the Suncoast every trip for the last 10 years min, because of the 2 for 1 coupon for the mexican resturaunt.  We may not have ever gone to these casinos even once without those coupons.  The 2 for 1 coupons also took us to the great mexican  at the Tuscany, and the 2 Fiesta which were probably the best of the bunch  I have no desire to go try a new food hall that may have just opened.  All casinos need to work with LVA.  This is not a paid advertisement.

Nice Brent.   We frequent the Tuscany for Marilyn's Cafe and Pub 365 does have some good Mexican food.  A buddy of mine, who is Hispanic, thought they had the best fish tacos he ever had.  We used to go to the Orleans quite a bit when they had the buffet, but don't really remember a Mexican restaurant, so that may have been before my time.  The TGIF is actually gone now, though.  The Mexican restaurant we really loved from the early 2000's and before they changed over to the SLS, was the Mexican restaurant at the Sahara. Not impressed with the taco place they have their now, though.
