Trip report 9-7 to 9-14

I think Don Migels was the one at the Orleans probably where the oyster bar is now.  You are right about the Sahara, and they used to give out 10 dollar food credit almost every visit so we had a reason to go over and play.  Borracha at Green Valley has also gone down hill.  The 2 best ones left are Latica at Sante Fe Station and the one at Boulder Station which we have not been to for awhile.  Javairs at Aria is good, but very pricey.

Day 4 wed, we had a free light breakfast at Resorts World and then walked down to Fontainblue.  The wife made some money on some quick hit machines and i lost some in Whitney Houston and Kong.  We should have played in the sportsbook bar, but did not feel like mimosas yet.  We did see Chad Ocho Cinco, which was pretty cool.  He may have peed on my shoe.  After walking back we went to Park MGM for mimosas at the center bar.  We made about 40 bucks but half the bar was walled off for upgrades, so we walked over to the Aria to play at the Gem bar.  Fun time there as they were making Pistachio Martinis for half the bar.  Again the Whitney Houston slot was being played but not hiting. I lost 20, and hardly anyone was playing the spooky mummy games anywhere this trip.

We got the car and headed to The Eureka casino to use the LVA 2 for 1 coupon at Fat Choy.  Food was very good.  I had the chicken fried rice and the wife had the club.  The place was clean and the meals were large.  After signing up for the players club we got the play 25 earn 25 free play offer and I hit 2 quads and a straight flush and the wife hit a 5 and 6 spot of full pay video keno.  After earning the free play we realized it was good for 30 days, so we saved it for thursday and took our profits to the Palace Staion to catch a movie.

Station has 5 dollar movies on wed. so we saw freakier friday.  It was a good choice, as we both  had a good time and the theater was very nice.  We mostly played nickles on the floor, but did go to the high limit bar for a nice glass of wine for dinner at the Charcaol Room for half price points day.  We were still pretty full from Fat Choy , and we already moved our reservation back. So we just split the chopped salad, bacon wraped shrimp , and baked potato.  It was perfect.  Plenty of food and the service was great.  I had not seen this place this busy in years.

We headed back to Resorts World to play at the bars, and I gave back the days winnings, but the wife hit 4 sets of quads playing triple play at dimes.  Still nobody  playing Kong, so we called it a early for us night.

Thought for the day , nobody is playing Whitney, Kong and Spooky Mummuy for a reason.

Loving your reports!   So right about the 'celebrity' machines.  I hit once on Whitney and probably won't ever play her again.  Bellagio used to have that Mick Jagger machine with the big tongue symbol on the front, had it for decades until this past July, at least.  I never saw anyone playing it, and I think I never did 'cause it looked dead, LOL.

You've had such good luck so far, except for that one evening, and I love your food reports.  Keep it up!

Candy

Thanks for the update on the slot machines.  I never do well on any of them either.

Day 5 thursday, we had a free light breakfast at Resorts World and then checked out, and headeed to the Virgin .  I thought we had a 5 dollar free play offer, but was told we had to be staying in the hotel.  Oh well, we had a mimosa at the little 8 seat vp bar and played a little and then walked around.  The high limit bar is much nicer and has the same denoms, but there was not a bartender.  There was more staff walking around than customers.  We both cashed out down 10 bucks .

Next stop was the Eureka to use our 25 dollar free play we earned the day before.  No big hits this time and we both cashed out about 20 bucks.  Pretty safe over there during the day, and we will be back to use the other LVA food and free play coupons.

We went to El Cortez for lunch at Siegals useing the LVA 2 for 1 coupon.  I had the open face turkey and the wife had the club.  Both very good and agood deal with the coupon.  We also used the 10 dollar  free play coupon and after playing for an hour cash out about even.

Next stop was the Poker Palace.  We wanted to say we did it, and we got the players club and a sign up free play of 5 bucks.  I hit a quad  and the wife made 2 bucks and we hit the road.   The place was pretty worn out and the few custoners looked tired.  I think the cafe would have been okay, but we had already eaten

We then went to Alliante to check in for what we thought was 2 comped nights, but found we had only booked 1 night somehow with 20 food credit and 40 free play.  So after we settled in we booked ftiday comped at Gold Coast.  It is always nice to have options, and we maybe could have jumped through hoops and gotten  taken care of there but they said they were full.  After that we were needing a drink so we settled in at the bar and played a few hours and watched the game.  We lost a little and got a glass of wine for the Bistro happy hour where we ordered the meatball sliders and lasanga. Both very good and covered by our food credit.  We played at the bar a little more  with no wins and decided to hit the Sante Fe Station to cash some sports book tickets and make some more bets for the weekend.  We played  a little in the high limit room and the guy next to me was betting 500 a hand.  He said he was up 50,000 , and the bartender was all over him.  Seemed like a regular guy that was on a heater.  He had hit aces a couple times that day .  Back to Alliante  and called it a night .  About even for the day.

Nice.  I can't imagine what his aces would pay at 500 a hand, if I'm reading this right.  Well, I'll never know 'cause that is beyond steep for me to even worry about.  LOL.  Glad you've had so many good times, good and free meals.  You two do it right!

Day 6 friday we checked out of Alliante and had Mcdonalds for breakfast as we headed to Mt Charlston for some site seeing and hiking.  It was only about 12 miles to the turn off for the Lee Canyon vistors center which was about another 14 miles I think the whole loop was like 44 miles  and a fun afternoon.  It was 86 degrees when we left and 56 at the top.  Some of the shops had the heaters on.  Lots of easy hikes and walks and we saw a little bit of wildlife.  Not much of a ski resort, but some of the views were great.  Not much shopping or many places to eat so we decided to wait until we got back.  It was a fun day trip and not crowded.

Or plan was to go to the Martini for an early dinner but they were full for happy hour, so we ended up at Panda Express so we wouldnty get caught up with traffic.  We then checked into our comped room at the Gold Coast, which was perfectly fine, and much appriciated.

We then headed to the Durango to watch games and play for the evening  We hitt the bars for awhile and then the wife wanted to play the hot pots, and I played nicklel keno nearby.I made about 40 bucks playing missile comand, and then played the Devince diamond one and hit a 7 spot for 3000 nickels..  Pretty fun at 20cents a push.  We made some more sportsbook bets and then ate in the sports book.  The room is very nice and is non smoking  as is the new one at Sunset station, but with a nicer section dor dining.. We had the chicken sliders to start, and they were awesome, and all we needed.  They didn't rush us out, and service was great.  This was one of the few places they would not let you bring your drink in from the bar.  We played awhile longer with no more wins and headed back to the Gold Coast for an early night

Thanks for the info on Mt. Charleston and Lee Canyon.  Wife and I may have to head out there on our trip in the spring to spend the day.  Really enjoying the report.

Day 7 sat we checked out of Gold coast and had breakfast at Pink Box donuts, and then headed to Green Valley Ranch .  We made our sports book bets and got some live keno way tickets, this time playing 10 spots.

We got some mimosas at the bar and played the hot pots with even results.  No big wins at the bar tops.  For lunch we decided to go to the Klondike casino and use the 2 for 1.  Once inside we decided to pass.  The cafe just didn't seem to be on par with what we were after.  We used to go to this place way back in the day when they had 25 cent roullette.  No tables there now.

Our new lunch place was Mission Bar BQ on Stephanie and Warm Springs.  Great choice and lots of great food for a fair price.  Everyone was super friendly, and the place was neat and clean.  We will deffinately go back.  After lunch we checked in to Sunset Station for one comped night and 75 free play..  We made some more sports book bets, and got lucky with seats at the sports book bar.  It is non smoking in there and very nice with dimes at the bar.  The place was packed and people were already getting tuned up for the big fight

that was free to watch in all the Station sports books.  We were doing pretty good, but some prople were getting way todrunk around us and getting kicked out and such so we headed back to Green Valley Ranch for the night.

We checked our keno and made a couple dollars more than our buy in so reinvested.  We also put Crawford in a couple parlays for the night for fun.. We had a fun night playing at the bars and had dinner at Baracha for very average mexican, but we needed a little something.  I do not recommend this place,  but we were able to play at the bar and have a few margaritas while watching the games.  After dinner we checked out the sports book to watch the last few rounds of the fight.  The place was packed and fun with everyone having a piece of the action  We cashed out our keno ticks for a 34 dollar profit for the trip, which is always fun.  Just one number away from real money   Headed back to Sunset and called it a night

Thanks for the heads up on the Mission Bar BQ spot.  Did you hit on any of your Crawford parlays.  He really did a great job in the fight.  He is one saavy boxer.  Was rooting for Canelo, but much respect to Crawford.
