On Friday a group of us are heading out to Las Vegas for an extended weekend of gambling, drinking, cholesterol laden meals, and staying up past our bed time. This is a guy's trip absent even a hint of adult supervision. However, as baby boomer guys, age provides some limits on our excesses.
I always try to hit our local casino a few days prior to any Las Vegas trip to bump my bankroll. There is one 9/6 JOB machine in town at $5.00. I played $500 up to a double and instead of pocketing it like I told myself I would, I headed over to the triple play machines. These are not full play but I decided to gamble on triple play dollar deuces with my $500. Almost immediately a smoker sat down next to me and fired up some noxious blend of yard waste and industrial effluent. I changed to triple play deuces at $2.00 or $30 a spin. I figured I would either hit a home run or more likely, be out of cash quickly.
I was dealt three deuces and filled two lines for a $4,000.00 hit.
Maybe I need to bring the smoker with me to Las Vegas?
More later,
Paul
