Triple Double Wild Cherry

I thought I ought to sit down and write this before my next trio in 2 weeks...don't want to mix things up!
This year we moved out anniversary/hubby's birthday trip up a week. We left on the afternoon nonstop flight out of Austin on Feb. 15, destination Paris Las Vegas. Had a nice 4 night comp w/$100 food credit @ Ballys Steakhouse. This was the first 4 night I've been able to reserve just on my TR #.

We arrive around 3:30, another on time for SWA. We're picked up by our driver from Presidential and we're off. I am enjoying the perk of platinum checkin! I ask if they have any red rooms available since we're there for a special occasion. The lady punches buttons and says holiday weekend, not much in the upgrade dept., they had some suite we could get for $175- night. No thanks, comped is better. We get our keys and are off to the 4th floor. We get off the elevator and head down the hall when I'm feeling a bit of de ja vu. I said "I think we stayed in this room last year.". We open the door and yes, we did, last summer for my birthday! Improvement to the room, new flat screen tv and the mini bar converted fridge was gone, but replaced with a real mini fridge.
We unpack and put stuff in the safe and take our afternoon bankroll, we normally don't fly in til 8-9 pm so I'm hoping the losing doesn't start too early.

Many times I've mentioned my favorite machine is triple double wild cherry, which I first played when we went to Vegas for my 40th b-day, that was my hubby's first trip, we stayed @ Luxor and they had a $.25 machine, so did Excalibur and MGM. I normally hit the $1 machine @ Paris on the way to the room @ the end of each night but the machine was vacant so $100 in....oh no.....$0 out. Boy, that took all of 10 minutes, not. Good start. Ok, let's go to the high limit slots @ Ballys (gotta love a high limit slot that consists mostly of $1 machines). Hubby slips $100 in his seven stars machine and is holding his own when we notice the guy at a machine behind him getting a hand pay on a machine. Ok, there's luck close by. It takes longer for him to lose his $100 and earn his $100 beer than it did me, so that's a plus...I guess. Hubby looks in the back room and says, "hey, you need to step out of your box and play that $5 top dollar over there" so, being the obedient wife, I put $100 in and what happens? Again, nothing. I told him he owed me $100. Enough losing, let's go to the ABC store for supplies, at least we'll have something to show for our money. Diet Dr. Pepper for him, Coke Zero for me and a little thing of 2% for my coffee, love that Paris has coffee pots in the room. Go back to the room and put stuff in fridge then back down to see if we have any luck. Piddled around on slots not doing much, the decide on dinner @ the Paris coffee shop. We split the Caesar and both had the braised beef. All was delicious and we used RC's, remembering Friedmush (I think) saying only used your RC's if you can cover then whole bill.
Next stop Ballys for some 3 card, we play a few hours, no luck so we move to Paris again for roulette. Hubby finishes up a little from roulette, I was down. Not happy about being down but glad that hubby was doing better since that is rare unless he's betting college football. Off to bed, tomorrow is a new day.
We always wake up too early in Vegas, I'm awake @ 7:30, which I guess is 9:30 @ home and I'd be out of bed by then at home, but I DID go to bed at 3:00 am home time! We take our time getting ready, not sure if we want breakfast or want to wait til later and have lunch. Lunch it is, we'll head down to Palazzo for Grand Lux later. We decided to walk toCaesars to see if they'd done anything for Chinese new year, didn't see much so we left, not a big fan of Caesars. We went to Grand Lux, I had the lunch combo of 1/2 sandwich, soup and salad, just enough. Hubby had some sandwich that he said was good, can't remember what it was. We wandered around Palazzo for awhile, playing machines here and there and what do I see? Yep, triple double wild cherry. I stuck my $100 in and got a lot more play off my $$ here but alas, still left with a big fat 0! I took some really neat pix of the snake display @ Palazzo. Caught a cab and went back to our end of town. Played some slots @ Ballys and hubby went tons 3 card table and I found a let it ride with a fun group and good dealers and pit boss. Played a few hours, then @ 4:45 pit boss changes table limit to $10 and says @ 5 we all had to up our bets. We all moaned and groaned and asked why we weren't grandfathered, never did get a real answer. At 5 the while table walked. I found hubby alone @ a 3 card table with a stack of black chips in front of him. Very nice! I put my $$ from LIR down and said I'd play awhile. A few other people came up so we didn't stay much longer, the one man that sat down was sort of annoying, after a half hour we left, hubby had a purple chip for his efforts, plus a few black. LIR table was empty the whole time we played 3 card.
Dinner that night was @ the coffee shop @ Aria. We haven't eaten there since the first year they were open because the menu was sort of odd but I looked @ their website and it looked promising, plus we could use express comps. I had a pork chop that came with green beans and mashed potatoes and hubby had jambalaya. The chop was thick and the waiter asked me how I wanted it cooked. Ummm, DONE, it's pork! I told him medium well, he said it would take awhile, we said bring some bread....it was very good bread.. The chop was delicious but too much for me so hubby ate some. He said his was good, I didn't try it, not a fan of jambalaya. Used our comps and went to the casino to see if anything looked interesting. Hubby's favorite is Top Dollar, $, so he found some machines and played. Guess what I found? Cherries! I put my $100 in and played and played, I was so happy! Played long enough for not just one but TWO glasses of Aria's yummy champagne. Hubby kept coming to check on my and I got machine up to nearly $300 so I said I'd play up to $300 or down to $250. Ended up @ $250, I was happy, that was the first machine so far that I walked away with a ticket! Back to Ballys for more $5 3 card with not much success, so off to bed before 1:00.
Sunday, redemption day? More to come.
