An unexpected comp results in an unanticipated future trip to Laughlin

About a year ago, we took one of the Riverside Casino junkets to Laughlin. For around $300.00 each, we flew to Laughlin from the Midwest. Our return flight was delayed and The Riverside very kindly provided us with vouchers for a return trip anytime in the following year for just $50.00.

These vouchers have been clipped to the door of our refrigerator for a while and recently I remembered that I should check out the expiration date. They expire on January 12th of 2014. I could not let these go to waste and found a junket flight out of our town (Dubuque, Iowa) on January 1st. The only possible barrier was getting time off from work (I work in healthcare and we never close) and taking advantage of a fourteen times point promotion at our local casino.

I was able to schedule myself off and called the Riverside- and then learned that we were both comped on the flight and in a suite. I received no communication about this benefit and was happily surprised. “Sweet!”, although I prefer the Aquarius. A quick email to our host there and we were all set. We enjoy traveling to gambling locations with friends so I found that we could offer our vouchers to others- and will be joined by another couple. This means that four us of will be traveling to Laughlin for $100.00 I wonder what we can do with the saved money?

Finally, since our flight does not leave until around 4:00 pm, there is enough time to hit our local casino for lunch, get the 14 times promotion and still make it to the airport on time.

I will provide a trip report when we return.
Wow, what a great deal, we took a junket flight in October to Laughlin comped by Harrahs (see Trip Report), I also prefer Aquarius. looking forward to your Trip Report.
wow, good deal!!!
Yes, that's an excellent deal! Great going! And you just never know what may happen when you do something casino related!

Great deal. We will be arriving at Aquarius on 19 Dec for a week.

TonyRob- be sure to leave some money for us to win

Enjoy your trip,

Paul
I'll let you know which machines we emptied!

I believe you owe us a trip report
Yikes- I do.

Short version- good travels, great rooms, good food and overall fun but losing gambling.
Most fun was had on the old coin droppers in The Golden Nugget. Worst beat down was in the "annex" casino at the Riverside, both in Laughlin.
Most surprising find was multi-play 8/5 BP at the Rio.
Great moment was picking up my 2014 MRB in person at the LVA office.
