I pricelined 5* on strip & got Vdara.
When I arrived, one of the clerks decided that some chick in another line possessed time that was far more valuable than everyone else in our line, so the moron decided to check her in ahead of all the rest of us. Saved her about 2 mins of additional wait time, but annoyed the hell out of the rest of us.
Rooms have a little kitchenette. It is completely UNFURNISHED. If you actually wish to use it, you have to call down & have everything delivered. It had a little dorm room fridge that kept things slightly cooler than room temp & not much more. (Consistent problem with the rooms.)
These rooms aren't "suites". It is 1 room. Period. They stick 2 tvs back to back in the center & you now have a "suite". 1 Tv faces the bed, 1 faces the couch. You'd have dueling tvs if you actually used them both simultaneously.
We got a room facing the back of the property. AVOID these rooms at all costs. It would never cool down. Even with the regular shade & the blackout shade down & air cranked, it still stayed warm in the room.
Made the mistake of having the room cleaned once early in the morning. I was out of the room for maybe 2 hrs. When I came back, the idiot maid had lifted the blackout shade, shut off the air, and the temp had already risen 8 degrees.
The room was clean & in good shape. The location is excellent. Maybe a minute walk to bellagio & aria, and maybe 7-8 min walk to planet hollywood & monte carlo (through the indoors).
Elevators are very fast & I didn't notice any long waits, despite the fairly heavy traffic.
I'd prefer to stay elsewhere where I can keep the room cool, but I'm sure Vdara will have its fans.
Saw Marc Savard (Hilarious!) and The Mentalist (very entertaining) at V theater. The V is a dump. Absolute shithole. No AC & they pack you in like sardines. Both acts are very good value for the discounted/free tix that are readily available. They just need to get to a real venue.
Saw absinthe at ceasars on tix4tonite. The tricks & acrobats were pretty amazing. The emcees were generally just annoying & made fun of the audience members close to the stage. Overall, pretty good, but lots of dry spells while they change the stage around & the emcees take over.
Tried to use the free tix to Nathan Burton. Too Late. The free tix were sold out for about a week in advance. Seems to be a very popular show.
