Vegas April 16th-20th

My wife and I are going. Flying Delta nonstop from Minneapolis. Used a companion certificate so 1 ticket was "free" with just paying tax and fees(about $30). We use Uber/Lyft to get downtown. 3 nights comped at Fremont with $30 free play and $75 food comp. We never really gamble there because-Boyd, but maybe we'll look around. Overlapping 3 nights at The D(our usual base). Each have $200 free play and $100 food comp for the Stevens casinos.

I'll try to do a trip report but it won't be the gems like Brent posts.

Our plan is to go Friday to LVA office and grab my wife's book. Then head to the Rio(haven't been for over 10 years) to use coupons and sign up bonus to play some VP. May stop at Gold Coast too since close. Looks like Ping Pang Pong is good? Thinking about hitting that for lunch. Not sure if we'll check out Palms or not. We're not really into buffets and it sounds like VP is nothing special. Probably would play some $5 blackjack or craps if available and good odds.

Otherwise we'll hang out downtown and hit our usual spots(The D, 4 queens, Plaza, Circa and maybe El Cortez. In addition we'll see what the lines look like for Golden Gate nightly free play. Still hurts that they ruined that place.) Like to get all the free play offers and LVA coupons used. Let me know what you think. I will try to update.

Thanks.Look forward to trip report.Good luck.

Good luck Michael.  Ping  Pang Pong is good, but sometimes there can be a long wait to get in.  The 5 dollar craps table at gold coast can be good, and the 3 dollar craps at the Rio looks like fun too.

Sound like the makings for a great trip, Michael.  Don't forget about the Boarding Pass offer at the El Cortez.  FP, MP and a free drink.

Don't forget El Cortez only allows one offer per day so you can only do the Boardiing Pass or an LVA coupon per day.

The video poker at the Palms is actually very good, but you have to look around for the good pay tables. The Rio also has very good video poker (by very good I mean compared to the video poker offered at most other casinos). to check out the VP offerings, go to vpFree2. - there they list all casinos and the VP available at each casino.

Thanks everyone. I just looked and realized that there are matchplays in the MRB for Palms that I had overlooked, so we'll definitely go play a little blackjack and VP there. Haven't been to Palms since Stations had just redone it. It was very nice inside, but the VP had been downgraded at that point if I remember correctly. vpFree2 is definitely a nice resource.

We'll probably walk down and do boarding passes at El Cortez the first night so we can go back another day to use the LVA coupon. It's funny, I liked the EC when it was old and grungy. The remodel is nice but changed the whole vibe of the place. I haven't had any luck there since remodel, but luckily my wife gets 4 of a kinds there like they're going out of style :).

Don't forget at The D and Circa go to the players club and say "Say Hi to MAtthew"  That will get you $25 matchplay at each and I beleive you can do this for 2 days straight.

Have fun

while you stop by the LVA office they have book shelves with extremely good bargains. I found books for as little as 1-2 dollars or so. It filled up my carry on bag really quick.

I really appreciated the end of the year book sale. I ordered VP frugal guide and the Oscar Goodman and Bob Stupak books, all for something like $20. Love the stories behind the characters of Vegas history.
