Vegas April 16th-20th

Forgot to mention we redeemed our LVA VP coupons Friday night at The D, so we had 24 hours to build up points. Saturday, I got up and played VP at the bar at Fremont for coffee. Nothing memorable. Wife was not feeling well and stayed in the room. I went to View Bar at the D and played 8/5 BP with the progressives. Started slow but then picked up. I probably played 3 hours there. Then, I headed back to Lanai Express for Oxtail soup. $24.99-used my comp. Excellent! Big bowl of soup with bones with meat, good broth and various onions,mushrooms etc. Came with a bowl of white rice and various hot sauce, shredded garlic, etc. I loved it. Couldn't quite finish it all. Recommended. I decided to head to Plaza. Stopped by Golden Gate to grab free play for their nightly thing. $10. Headed to Plaza. Lost $100 on various VP at Omaha Bar, then played 3 Way Action for awhile. Ended up being dealt quad 2's. No kicker and none came, but nice $480 hit. Headed back to GG. Had 1 beer and used my FP on a Huff N Puff. No luck.

Wife was feeling better by then and was hitting on a Buffalo machine at Fremont. I met her there. We headed to The D. Played a little at Longbar until time to redeem for our FP. I only accrued $35 and she had $15. Our play is weaker there with those pay tables. She got her LVA match play and Say Hello to Matthew match play. BTW they told us only 2 times per year on those and since we got in November, we could only grab once this trip. Anyway, I think we won one, lost one. We didn't stay at the table long.  Called it an early night. Will post about Sunday soon. Spoiler: It was a much better day than the rest.

I forgot to mention, at some point we hit the $50 free play at 4 Queens(Earn 500 points, get $50 free play).

Sunday morning, coffee at the bar at Fremont again. Wife hit 4's, then 2's on Double Bonus. She hit one more after that and I hit Kings on DDB. Left up about $200. We had to check out and move to The D(we had checked in already on Friday as she had a 3 night comp). Hit those Buffalo machines on the way out. She won about $80, I lost $40.

We played a little at The D, no hits. We headed down to Plaza to see our buddy Tao, the bartender at the Omaha bar. Really nice guy. I started out with quads on 9/6 BP Deluxe for $200. We proceeded to play and both were hitting on and off. We headed to the kiosk to see if we had more free play, and wife had to redeem her LVA free play coupon. There was a game on the kiosk, something Tax give away. Pick a box. I picked a box and won $1000 free play! I couldn't believe it. So, we went back to the bar and alternated each one of us playing $100 at a time on $1 BP Deluxe. We ended up leaving with $800 out of the free play. Awesome! Then we went so I could play a little more 3 Way Action. Wife sat next to me to play DDB, but didn't like the pay table, so moved over another seat and found a 9/6 DDB machine. Guy sitting next to her commented that he was impressed that she was paying attention to the pay tables. I looked over and he was playing a Joker's Wild game. I said "are you John Mehaffey?". Sure enough, it was! He and Kristina were playing there. If you don't know, they run the Vegas Advantage website. Absolutely incredible people. We talked for at least an hour. They are uber-smart. Rattled of facts and stats, payback odds etc like it was nothing. Definitely a highlight of the trip. Wife won a little on her machine. I hit nothing, but we left there way ahead.

Timing was right, so we stopped by Golden Gate for the nightly drink and free play. I got $25, wife got $10. We played in some train slot. She lost, I hit a couple bonuses and cashed for about $80. I wanted to leave, but she wanted to play VP at the bar. Because we were up, we decided to play $1 games. Not sure who kicked it off, but we started hitting a bunch of 4 of a kinds. We were pretty buzzed, so not sure how much we won but it was around $1000. Crazy. We were having a blast.

Will be there in 2 weeks on a Hilton Grand Vacations deal; getting 125,000 bonus points added to my account.  Once I tell them my Hilton and Marriott balances that ends the sales pitch.

The last time I used it;  the sales guy said - you are just here for the points and we talked sports for the rest of the 90 minutes.
