The old saying “better safe than sorry” isn’t an old wise saying for nothing. I’m glad I evacuated. If the fire had gotten out of control…..
I have also been in buildings that would have the alarm go off several times a day before they finally got the electronics fixed. A little different case.
Cosmo definitely is getting a lot of attention. They have the real chance to be a hit. Pieces have to fall right, and they have to continue to be smart.
Judy, July will not come too soon!
Sue, all my walking (I do more at home than I do in Vegas) made the 22 flights down very easy. Now, 22 flights going up… different story.
As for compensation for the fire… I checked out by TV, so the issue wasn’t raised. If I checked out in person, I would have joked about did I have to pay extra for the new fitness plan: going down 22 flights of stairs. My view: Bally’s did everything right and nothing wrong. Some idiot started the fire, not Bally’s. Bally’s did make sure I was safe. They deserve my thanks for that. They don’t owe me a thing. I’m glad you sent the complementary letter.
The spaghetti and meatballs: what made it so good is that the sauce did not taste like seasoned tomato sauce. It was more complex. And there was a richness to it. The pasta was cooked perfectly and fresh. Awesome. Gaetano’s: great meal.
As for the hand that needed no conversion: I’m looking at the screen and I know my subconscious knew something good was dealt because I was excited right away. What I remember thinking immediately is “All diamonds and lots of high cards”. Then I see the machine has locked up, and I start putting it together. I knew it was a progressive, but I had no idea how much the dealt progressive was. I’m glad it was so close to the normal progressive machine I play.
I had conceded the idea that I would finally get dealt a Royal on a single play machine with no progressive, because I started playing more single line joker. To get it dealt on a machine with a nice progressive…. very lucky.
By the way, at Orleans, as I mentioned, I play a nickel triple play progressive. They also have a quarter progressive. The dealt payoff had risen to $50,000. I went back on Sunday and it was down to $5,500. Someone got a nice hit.
I roughly estimated that my chances of getting a dealt royal in a year is 1 out of 20. I figured I had a 50/50 shot at getting one in my life time. I’m now going for two!
Another way to look at it. You should get about 16 or so converted royals for every one that’s dealt. I’m not even close to having 16 royals in my life.
I was a bit excited. Flabergasted. I called N’cat thinking she was up in her room and I wanted her to see it. She was only 100 feet from me.
And yes, my wallet was so stuffed with 100’s that it wouldn’t close. So I had this big bulge in my pants pocket (insert your own joke here).
