Vegas July 28th to August 2

Just some notes for those of interest during these troubling times.

My wife and i flew out of MSP early July 28th on Sun Country which we use alot as rates are always low. Plane was very clean but no beverages or snacks and middle seats were used. Flight out was around 70% full and flight back was almost full and we were forntunate to have no one sit in between us both ways.  Masks were strongly enforced. We always sit in the front as when using there credit card seats are half price as is the first piece of luggage and usually two free drinks, so some people shy away from these if charged the full price.

We stayed at Aliante this trip as we had planned on staying at our normal stay Suncoast and Aliante but decided not to do Suncoast with there limited eating areas. We stayed at Aliante when Stations built it but not since Boyd bought it. The place still isn't busy at all and rarely did we have anyone sit even close to us when playing.  People were very good about wearing masks. The hotel is small 200 rooms? and not once was anyone ever on the elevator with either of us.  No room cleaning  during our stay and if you need more towels etc you just call housekeeping and what you wanted would be put in a large plastice bag just inside your room. Also used the pool alot, didn't open till 11 but never more then 10 people at a time were there and masks again were enforced if sunning but if in the pool not needed. They only allowed hotel guests to use. Great food at the Farm coffee shop and the steakhouse.

Since we were on that side of town we visited Cannery, which was busy and one morning we hit Wildfire Rancho for breakfast which was very good with LVA coupon.

We hit Samstown, Orleans, Jerrys, Gold Coast for LVA free play and also Cornerstone one nite with LVA $20 off $40.  Food was good but we've had better other trips.

Visits to Orleans and South Point found the casinos very busy and seemed South Point was cleaning more. Gold Coast was the normal for business.

We also hit Emerald Isle for breakfast coupon and the coupon for the spin after putting on 300 points. We each got $20 cash.

We also hit Golden Steer which was very busy with the best Filet Mignon we've ever had. Everything was great and they were giving free cheese cake also.  Used a groupon there.

Everything at Aliante was comped and gambling was good with 3 royals between us and eight dueces, just nickels, and alot of small slot payouts.  I was down $100 for week and wife was down $500 with an average of 10 hours a day playing.

Airport very quiet with no wait at all thru security lines both MSP amd LAS.

Car rental at Alamo nothing great there.

Temperatures were checked at all casinos and masks were worn everywhere.

Forgot to add some casinos had every other machine turned off while others had all on with only a couple chairs available to be used.

Very good info.  Thanks.

I'm curious whether Emerald Island had every other machine turned off. Quarters are really close in there, and everybody smokes (I've almost been convinced that it's mandatory), so it would be a horribly dangerous environment no matter what--even if everybody DID wear a mask, which I'm sure is not the case.

I dunno. I'm just not that much gambling-jonesing that I want to dip myself into a viral bath in order to lose my money. But I generally stay away from Vegas during the 115-degree months anyway. No loss. I do understand why the addicts have been champing at the bit, though.

Thanks for the info!

Great info, glad you enjoyed , living off TRs, heading out Sept 24, Thanks.

Kevin Emerald Island had every other machine turned off as did Jerrys Nugget.  The rest of the casino had all machines on but only a couple of chairs in each section.

Yes your right about all the smoke in Emerald which is why we go there early am when not as busy and we only play the slots there as that room  has very few smokers compared with the other two rooms with vp and all the heavy smokers.

Hey, it's amazing blog. On my last trip here I found out that most popular national dishes of Maldives is latti. Other national dishes include kanneli, mushimas. Culture is amazing present. Trip more. Cheers.
