Vegas- Nov. 14-18

Wife and I left Riverside at 3:30pm. Stopped in Barstow to get gas and got to our timeshare at 7pm. Check in was quick and after dropping off our luggage in the room, we headed to Olive Garden for dinner. I had the soup and salad, my wife had the chicken parmesian. I took the rest of the salad and got one of their $6 fettuccine Alfredo to take back to the room. My wife still had half of her meal.  We'll eat them for lunch on Saturday or Sunday.

After taking the food to our room,  we went to the Westgate so I could check into my comped room for the slot tournament we were doing on Friday and Saturday.  Wife had $300 in freeplay and I have $250. She turned hers into about $500.  Mine was gone between high limit Mo Mummy and DDB VP.  About 2am, I hit a $1600 jackpot in the bonus game on a farm game with chickens and eggs.  Back to the room at 3:30am.

Friday,  Nov. 15.  Slept in to about 10am. Plan for today was to go to Tuscany to take advantage of their kiosk promotion and use our freeplay ($25).  We got one way monorail tickets and got off at the Flamingo.  We walked to the Tuscany along Flamingo.  Traffic sucks due to the race prep,  so waiting at the lights took some time. Got to Tuscany and ate at Marilyn's Cafe. I had a sausage omelette,  while my wife had grilled chicken and eggs. Food was great,  as was the service.  I paid with comps. I used my freeplay on Cleopatras Wild Tiles, a take off from the original Wild Tiles game. No luck. My wife turned her freeplay into $50.  Kiosk game was a race car game that you played after getting 75 points.  Both of us got $23. I turned mine into $40. Wife went through hers quick.

We needed to get back to the Westgate so my wife could check into her room and register for the slot tournament.  Instead of going back to the Flamingo and getting the monorail,  we decided to walk back.  Only about two miles and was a nice stroll. There was a little wind,  but nothing too bad. Took us about an hour. After checking in, we had about an hour and a half before the tournament opening round. There are two more rounds on Saturday.

We had already planned to eat at the Asian Bistro, the Westgate's Chinese restaurant.  I had $50 in food comps to pay for it. Wife had Orange chicken and I had Kung Pao chicken.  We also shared an order of chicken fried rice.  With the 20% discount for being a platinum card member,  it came out to $48.

Now we went to the slot tournament.  After playing our round, my wife decided to play the NFL slot.  Ended up winning $77. I went to the bar and played some DDB. Spent $20 for about an hour of gaming and 4 beers.

Back to the timeshare around 9pm. We had some popcorn and tried to watch the movie Poolman on Hulu. We watched about 20 minutes and determined that we didn't care for it.  In bed by 10pm.  Going to workout on Saturday morning, so wanted to get some good rest.

Saturday is earmarked for Sahara and Strat freeplay run, as well as the last two rounds of the slot tournament.   Top prize is $30k in freeplay.   In two other tournaments to qualify for this one I finished 3rd and 4th,  so I want to keep that run going.

Thanks and appreciate it, Patricia.

Saturday,  Nov. 16-  Left the time share and headed to the Westgate monorail station. We bought the 24 hour pass yesterday,  so still had some time on it.   Headed to Sahara to pick up our freeplay and use our dining credits for breakfast.  Wife had the breakfast skillet and I had the sausage omelette.  Both were very good and my wife couldn't finish hers, there was so much food. Paid for it with our $25 dining credits each. Wife played her freeplay ($25 each) netting nada, while I played Mo Mummy and cashed out a $17 profit.

A nice walk to the Strat to walk off our breakfast and use our $25 freeplay was next. Wife rifled through hers in short order. I decided to play mine in a weird gem type game called Raoul's Riches.  First spin got the bonus game and cashed out a tidy $250 profit. When I went to cash out,  the Strat slot staff was paying a lady the $18k jackpot she had just won on Mo Mummy.

Left the Strat and walked back to the Sahara to take monorail to the Westgate.  Played some over there with not much luck. I lost $100, and wife lost $200.  I'm still up $150 on the day. We headed back to the timeshare for lunch (Olive Garden leftovers from Thursday), before our first slot tourney session of the day.  My score was better than yesterday,  my wife's wasn't.

Back to the timeshare to relax before our last tournament session and the awards dinner tonight. Wife is taking a nap while I went through some student assessments I still needed to score and write this latest trip entry.  Will update the last part of the day tomorrow morning.

Glad you're having fun! We should all go ahead and blow our cash in Vegas or some other gambling destination; that $1000 in mad money we've been saving up won't buy a Happy Meal by this time next year, so let the good times roll while we still can!

The casinos will have to spend some money changing all the quarter slots to $1 and all the dollar slots to $5, in order to keep their profits steady when we turn into the Weimar Republic. So expect room rates to keep soaring skyward.

And have lunch at Tacos El Gordo BEFORE they fire up the 3 for $100 special! Right now, that's still only $10.
