Vegas trip 5-7 to 5-12

Grilled blueberry muffin...dang that sounds wonderful!   Great TR continues.

Sunday we again had smoked salmon with cream cheese on toast with our fruit and pasteries..  We love staying at Resorts World.  We played a little at the bar with a mimosa and then checked out.  We then headed to the Suncoast to use 20 dollars free play.  This place is still under remodel so I do not recemend.  But I hit a nice quad on 3way poker and the wife made some on bonus streak. Next we hit Red Rocks to make some sports book bets , and pick up our friends to go to The Martini for the great steak dinner on sundays.  The 4 of us all got the 8 oz filet with mashed and asparagus.  We had some great wine and good conversation and I won 40 bucks playing 4 card cleopatra.  Bill was like 60 bucks for the 4 of us.  Love that place, and non smoking.

We dropped our friends back at Red Rocks and we drove out to Green Valley Ranch for one comped night with 175 free play and 50 food credit.  We then checked our 40 game live keno way ticket from last trip.  We lost 7  dollars, so free  rolled it into another 30 games.  We hit the boner game for 50 dollar wims each and played at the bars with no big wins.  Dinner was at Boteglia for senor sunday 2 for 1. Ihad spegetti and meatballs and the wife had lobster ravioli.  Very good and used food credit.  We played the bartops for awhile and called it an early night

More tomorrow

Keep up the good time

Monday we had pasteries from the VIP room for breakfast.  Checked our live keno ticket and found another 7 dollar loss, but rolled the remainder into another 20 games. I had a round robin winner in the sportsbook, and we made a few more bets.  The wife also had a small winner.  We played on the floor where the bomer game seems to be done.  Probably changed out the chip,  The bonuses are smaller and are coming less and nobody is playing.  Fun ride, but we each lost 20.  The wife played bonus streak and hit a royal times 3.  I played 3 way action and hundred play whith some nice quads and several dueces and 5 of a kinds. WE checked out and then went back in and played until 2 o'clock. Then lunch at Lindo Michiuacan 3blocks south on horizon.  Great food and we split the lunch speacial.

We then went to Sunset Station to check in for one comped night.  The wife played bonus streak and I played 3 and 5 play vp  with no big wins for us.  Dinner was at Sonoma Cellar, where we just split the chopped salad and the bacon wraped shrimp.  Very good, and it was all we needed.  We gave the bomber game another shot and was the same  story, smaller bonuses and fewer.  Cashed out even and moved to the bar for some c4 card cleopatra.  I made 40 and the wife got hot playing 4 card keno with a bunch of 4 spots and 5 of 6s..  We finished the night playing 5 play multistrike, but we did not hit anything at the top and each lost 40.  Called it a night.

I will finish up latter

I can't think about a blueberry muffin in Vegas without recalling that scene in that awful movie, "Casino,: when Ace Rosensomething bawls out the cafe chef for unequal blueberry distribution in his muffin. Purportedly. that really happened.

I absolutely love Blueberry Hill's blueberry pancakes with blueberry compote.

I actually like that movie. One of my favorites.

Yes I too heard that did actually happen. The chef changed from putting blueberries in the main batch of batter to putting blueberries in each individual muffin tin.

Tuesday we checked out of Sunset and went back over to Green Valley,  We had some rolls for breakfast and made some sports book bets.  I had another round robin win but ended down 20 for the week.  The wife always does much better , but she follows more sports than I do.  We cashed out our  live keno ticket.  From our 40 dollar investment we got a total of 100 games over 4 sessions, but cased out only 6 dollars playing 10 spots.  Anyway, lots of fun, and just a few numbers away from something fun.   They wife played some bonus streak, and I played 3 and 5 play vp.  No big wins.  Rental car drop off was quick and easy.  We flew back on southwest for 240 total and the process was easy once we figured things out with the southwest credit card perks.

We both came down with sinus infections this trip so we avoided the smoke over in Henderson, and kind of chilled the last few days.  I ended up for the trip and the wife was down just a few hundy.  The Bonber game was a great new game the last 2 trips, but changed like turning off a light switch.  banks of six were packed one day and the next nobody was playing.  The new monopoly game looks fun, but nobody was winning and the machines were not busy.  I would probably stay away.  Good luck everyone

Thanks for TR again.Sounds like you and wife had a fun visit. Thanks for the Good Luck.

Appreciate the trip report, Brent.  I hope you and wife got over those sinus infections in short order.  Be well.

Not that there really is a sensible way to play slots, but you get pounded a little bit less if you stick to the very newest machines. The casinos almost always set them at a high payback initially, to "sell" the machine and encourage future play. The variation is usually in the frequency of the bonus game(s). Many's the time I've seen a bank of new machines full one week and deserted the next. The players find out very quickly that the bonus game frequency has been reset to 0.000001.

Considering you're giving the casinos a 10% edge, you should be very happy with any result that's "not slaughtered." Nice going on your modest loss and congrats on your good time.
