Vegas trip report 8-15 to 8-20

We flew Alliegiant out for 118 for  both of us,but our flight was delayed over 2 hours.Rental car was with Avis for 221 all in.   Friday night was at Sunset station comped with 75 in free play.  We got in really late but got a nice quite room on the top floor.  We went down and played about 30 minutes and got some waters and a night cap with a small profit and called it a night.

Day 2 Sat. we split the American breakfast at the cafe, which was good, and plenty for 2.  I had  a good sesson of tripple play using my free play hitting two sets of quads.  Then some good play on ultimate x.  We both ended up a hundy then  headed to the Palms  .  We had 30 dollars in free play and 2 for 1 brunch offer with no stay requiered.  The buffet eas a little off this time, but i think they were trying to get ready for dinner.  The crablegs and steak were very good, and we enjoyed a few mimosas  I won 80 bucks playing Whitney Houston, but nothing playing keno on my free play and Dragon link was cold for the wife.

We then headed to Green Valley Ranch to Play.  We did our live Keno way tickets at 25 cent denom  about a dozen times this trip and  probably lost 90 bucks.  Only got our money back once, and about half the other tickets.  Still fun, but we do better at Red Rocks for some reasom.  We mainly bouced around the high limit bars, and the wife was on fire.  She hit a 6 spot and at least 5- 5 spots at quarters and ended up around 7 hundy and i hit a couple 4 spots at dollars to end up as well.  Station has brought back the 4 card caveman and Cleopatra on all the bars, and los of people were loving the 2 dollar margs.  We stopped at White Castle on the way back to Sunset Station for a snack, and called it an early night

I will try to postmore tomorrow

Sounds like a pretty decent start to this trip, Brent.

Video keno is fun, but with its 90%-minus payback, it can be expensive fun. But I should warn you, the payback on the Caveman and Cleopatra games is absolutely horrible. The paytables are significantly cut back (compare them to the regular game) in order to pay for the bonus game, which doesn't come up all that often (I think it's 1 in 53 games). You have to hit a random 3-spot chosen by the game to get it. Won't happen often.

If you're on that side of town, Emerald Island has the maximum payback paytables on almost all of their video keno, and you can use the LVA coupons to get a free meal and a free wheel spin.

As everyone who plays these games know, the casinos took these games away for a reason.  They have low volitility.  In 4 card Cleopata, for example you can play 4 quarters instead of 5 for video poker.  Keno you get half your bet back almost every time if you are playing the proper stratagies, If you hit 2 of 4 numbers with the bug or 3 out of 7 with the bug you get 12 free games at double the pay table.  This happens about every 8 pushes of the button and then you can sit back and watch.  Every 12 games should result in about a full house or better return . I have said this before, but all of the bartenders play keno, and most of the locals.  There are good paytable and bad, just like video poker.  As with all these games you can learn and practice for free online before you go to the casino.

Day 3 we slept in and then checked out of Sunset Station and drove to Summerlin for some Randys Donuts.  Next we stopped into the Suncoast to play at the new bar in front of the new bingo room.  The bar was great.  Lots of tvs and nickels on the machines with good drinks and great bartenders. Parking garage access was open , but the center bar and Dupars is now closed for refresh.  We used our 10 dollar free play and hit some slots and thought we were leaving with extra money.  But a spooky mummy game took all our winnings on the way out  Down about 50 each.

We had lunch at The Martini for the sunday steak special.  8 oz filet with mashed potatos and asparagus for 14 dollars with card all day.  We had a great meal and some nice wine with great service.  I hit a 6 spot playing multiline keno for dimes for 160 bucks and cashed out over 150 playing for almost 2 hours.  The wife hit a 7 spot playing quarters in the bonus round for 250 bucks and cashed out at 230.  We love this place.

Next stop was Red Rocks to cash out a live keno ticket from last trip and play a little. The wife hit 2 more 5 spots at quarters  and made some money and I hit a 4 spot on dollars for a profit as well.  Then it was time to head to Resorts World to check in for 1 comped night in the Conrad with 25 in free play.  The room was great and we headed to the Alle bar on the 66th floor to play and have some drinks.  We  had a great time and played about even for a couple hours and had some nice snacks until the sun was going down and things got crowded.  So we moved down to the highlimit bar to play the rest of the night and got a little tippsy.  We staggered back to the room about 11 and somehow held our own all night and never made it to the casino floor after playing at tne bars for 7 hours

I will try to post more later

Thanks for that info, Brent.

Pretty much no way you can beat a game that returns 90% or worse. Reducing volatility is actually the worst way to play a highly -EV game. You want to get lucky quickly and get out.

Day 4 Monday we slept in and had a few snacks in the room before checking out.  I'm not going to lie, we felt a little rough.  We headed downtown to use our 20 dallor food credit at the California cafe.  We split the club, which was pretty good and got us feeling much better.  We played the old upright machines by the west doors until things got too smokey .  Down about 40 each.  Then over to the Circa to use some free play.  No wins and down another 40 each.  Downtown is just to loud and smokey for us these days, and really just play down there for the coupons and to keep some doors open in case we ever need something down there.

We got the car and headed to Green Valley Ranch to check in for our last 2 comped nights.  200 free play and 50 in food credit  Great room on the top floor of the east tower.  The west tower is closed for remodel, so rooms are pretty hard to come by right now.  We played a little at the bars, but mostly play slots today as they just seemed to keep playing all night.  We played the Hot Pots game and just rotated out with other playes setting us up for the bonus on all 4 machines.  Same with Money balls, and the Dancing drums with the 4 pots.  Also the mummy game and the new spooky mummy with rhe Yeti.  Although the Yeti was hitting for everyone but us.  Dinner was at Panda express and pretty good.  We both ended down about a hundy, but all of that was from the bartops.  We called it an early night since tuesday would be a 10 times point day.

I will try to finnish up tomorrow

Day 5 tues was 10 times point day so we decided to play at green Valley all day.  We started off with breakfast at the cafe which is always good and then made a round through the slots we played the day before, but no luck.  We had the cheeseburger special at the cafe for lunch for 5.99 and was good.  After lunch things started to get crowded abd we were not hitting anything at the bartops for us.  A lady at the side bar hit a 7 spot on single line keno playing 1 dollar for 7 grand.  We took a break and  got some good  wine and went to happy hour at Boteglia and had 1.50 oysters, and a ceasar salad and meatballs  Very good.  The rest of the night we played all over, but it was pretty busy and no good hits.  We closed the night at the high limit bar and a guy was playing 1 dollar single line keno and got 3 handpays in about 30 minutes..  Either 6 spots or 6 of 7            I couldn't tell.  We called it a night down a few hundred each after playing pretty hard all day

Wed mourning had breakfast at the cafe, and made some sports book bets for football.  We cashed out out last live keno ticket and checked out.  It was a good stay, and they gave us a vip pass when we checked in this time that got us into a vip lounge that we prevously did not know about.  Maybe it is new. Cucomber water coffees and light snacks from 9 to 9.  We stopped in a few times.  Station seems to bedoing things right, as is the Palms.  I forgot to mention they were giving away Malibo rum slushi when we were there.  Rental car return to Avis was quick and easy and there was no line at all at the airport.  We flew back on Southwest with the flight half full, and on time.   With most of the bankroll still intact we are going back in a few weeks !

Thanks for the trip report - sounds like you stayed busy but relaxed...
