Vegas vacation day 1 - Gold Coast

Hi everyone,

We finally made it. After a delayed flight from Manchester NH due to hydraulic leak on our plane, resulting in missed connections in Denver, we arrived at 3 PM instead of the 11 AM planned. Southwest tried to repair the leak, found there were more issues and we ended up stealing a plane that had just come in, thinking that they would give them more time to do repairs before that scheduled flight was due to depart.

Car rental from EZ was super fast in and out, upgrade to chevy malibu as they ran out of compact cars (I find this to be true 90% of the time). I love that they try to get you to pay for an upgrade - when I know they seldom have compacts available and I am going to get into an upgrade anyway!!

Check in a Gold Coast also easy, in the room 913 in about 10 min! Not upgraded, as per pictures posted by other people, but it's free from minimal play, so it's okay. Coffee maker in room and bed is really comfy with nice pillows. Really loud neighbors, yelling and partying next door. But we keep east coast time, and so we go to bed early here - and then we get up at 6 AM, which is 3 AM here. Makes for an interesting stay. Payback is a ...... well, you know.

Played some video poker at the bar 9/5 JOB and 7/5 Bonus, hit one quad for 125 credits. Played some video keno, catching 5/7 but no 6/7 for $200 or 7/7 fo $3500 but I will keep trying. Bartenders were super friendly, drinks were ice cold and strong!!

Dinner was prime rib buffet 9.99 per person, and it was terrific!!! Seafood selection was not to my liking: fried salmon??? crayfish??? where is the shimp??
Oh well, many more good meals to come.

3:41 AM as I type this, drinking my coffee, and thinking about steak and eggs....
More to come.
So glad you made it to Vegas. Thanks for the update and enjoy the rest of your trip.
Thanks for posting Day 1 of your very live trip report! I know that there is some better VP at Gold Coast (I think by the Bingo) -- check VPFree2.com for more information. And also be aware that you might find (I did a couple of years ago) at Gold Coast some 9/6 Jacks Or Better paying 2,500 for the 5 coin-in Royal Flush (instead of 4,000 coins)!

Sorry to read that you lost 4 hours of LV time due to plane issues and I wish for you a Safe, Fun and Profitable trip!
