Vegas vacation day 2 - Gold Coast, Silverton, Texas Station

Day 2 finds us looking for breakfast. TGIF has some breakfast specials, but they are closed??? We play at bit at the Gold Coast and hit the buffet. It was your standard fare, the bacon was nice and crisp, and they had an apple fritter thing that was excellent. I played my video keno, not hitting a darn thing. I change to video poker and cannot hit at the .25 level but then I change to nickles and it lets me hit several quads on bonus poker. That helps stop the bleeding.

We hop in the car, and head to the Silverton. I use the GPS on my I-phone to find the place. It is dead........empty........how do they stay open? I park the car way out in the middle of the lot, away from other cars, to avoid the ding issue I had in October with my rental. When we leave 3 hours later, the parking lot is filling in with people in business attire, I think on their lunch breaks??? the other parking lot is filled to the brim with an RV show, but few people out there checking out the rigs. I would like to mention - on my flight in from Denver, I shared a row with an older couple who shared that they lived in Vegas for 6 months in their RV when they first retired, and they stayed at the Oasis RV park, right behind South Point. We have been pondering doing this when we retire also - spending the cold winter months in a warmer climate in an RV, so their story was interesting.

We decide to go to Texas Station and play for a bit. We have had some luck there in the past, and it's the over 50 day for Station casinos so points add up fast. We had a great time there, playing video keno and taking out $100 tickets. I think we both ran the same $100 bill through the machines several times, and came out slightly ahead. We were undecided where to have lunch/dinner and chose just to get a Burger from Fatburger, and I had chinese from Panda Express which had some very nice honey nut shrimp dish. Perhaps jet lag, but I don't feel much like eating.

After several hours, we head back to the Gold coast and play at the bar and some penny machines before heading up to bed. It's our last night here, off to Palace Station tomorrow for 5 nights.

Thursday is the day we are meeting our friends for some play at the Henderson locals casinos. We particularly enjoy Emerald Island, and will meet them there after we check in at Palace station.

Thanks for reading.
Very nice, thank you for posting and I hope that you're finding the better Pay Schedule machines for Video Keno. Those that for example pay for 4 Spots: 2-5-100 instead of 2-5-91 (or worse).

Thanks for the report.Enjoyed reading.

On Star is activated in most Rentals to keep track of the cars. I used it everyday on my last trip when I had a Malibu.
