DAY 5 Final day
On our final day we both sleep in til 10:00am and wake with that ever so familiar sad feeling....in realization that today is the last day and we soon have to head back to reality. Although I am missing the kiddos and have been in touch with them throughout the trip....
I guess I officially didn't sleep in 'til 10:00. I had to wake up and check us in for our flights at 8:00 am since our flight leaves at 7:55 tomorrow. I use my 3G Galaxy Tab to check us in and plan to print our boarding passes later in the business office.
After each trip we usually pick a couple of our favorites places to eat and save those to our last day on our next trip. Well, last years two favorites were the Silverton lunch buffet...(small but outstanding in my opinion) and the second was the Ellis Island steak special...remember we're low rolling frugals here.
So our agenda today includes Sivlerton for lunch, next we'll head to The Flamingo and catch Nathan Burrton, then do a little souvenir shopping, Ellis Island for steak and finish off back at The Orleans for our last run on the triple plays.
So we got up and ran up to the business center to print our boarding passes. This was about a 40 minute ordeal. I swear the business office used to be down stairs......Anyway, ask the front desk & she directed us up stairs. So up we went.....oppps that was the bowling alley. So we head up stairs again.....oppss that was the movie theater and arcade. Finally remember the ball room escalators over on the side. Finally we get there. The lady running the business center just placed a sign up that she was going to lunch. Man! We won't be back until after they close....we talk her into letting us on real quick to print the boarding passes. Shouldn't take more than 2 minutes. Well, it did. First computer wouldn't load pdf files......second computer would load the webpage. Finally, a very large polite man beside us suggested that his computer was the only one that would work and we could use his once he clears it. He was pretty adamant that his information was cleared. He said he was printing 97 pages! Wow. My wife looked over his shoulder and saw that the document on his screen was a NFL contract. Turns out it's Terrell White and he is printing his 97 page contract with the Tampa Bay Bucs....cool. Seems like a really cool guy. Once I log on presto...print the passes...1 min 32 seconds...told you.
Finally we run over to Silverton to use our 2 for 1 coupon. Stand in line to get our cards and voucher to redeem at the buffet. Get to the buffet about 1:00 pm...... No line, as all the older crowd had already been there bright and early and have left.
Once again Seasons Buffet didn't disappoint. I could just make a meal out of their General Tso's chicken. I love Chinese food and this a pretty darn good stuff. Had a few Italian dishes, a little pulled pork and various sides. For dessert I could not pass up the strawberry shortcake.
Overall a very nice lunch....$10.80 w/ tax & 2 for 1
(4 forks)
Drive back to Bill's to park and head to see Nathan Burton. We had the free tickets, but upgraded to floor for $10/ticket. Enjoyed the show. Thought our kids would really like it as well once we bring them.
Got to see a preview of Jeff Civillico, who plays at the IP. Thought he was really good and plan to see him next time.
4 claps for Entertainment to value ratio.
After the show we walk across to Caesars. Had to pick up some souvenirs for our kid and a couple of their friends. One of my daughters friends wanted a $1 chip from Caesars so I ran and got one and a few other things from their gift shop.
Still pretty early, but decide to go to Ellis Island. We have $10 free play from yesterday, so we can burn some time on the nickel VP machines. Spend close to an hour playing the nickel VP machines w/ the $10 free play....cheap entertainment! It's about 7:00 pm and we decide to go ahead and put our name in.....Get to the counter and there is only about a five minute wait. Cool.

Mrs. M and I both chow down on the steak special. I order mine medium rare, Mrs. M orders medium. Steaks come out...mine is fine, but Mrs M's is still mooing....very bloody. I would eat it, but no way Mrs. M is sinking her teeth into that. They re-fire here steak this time a little charred on the outside. First time in years that we've ever had a problem. Mrs. still says it was good.
Total....$16.98
3.5 forks due to problems with the Mrs.
Sadly we head back to The Orleans for our last hurrah.....
The dealt jackpot was now at $4,500 and the bank was busy as ever. We do manage to get two machines next to each other after about a five minute wait. The individual progressives were in the $300 range so we're pumped and ready to hit one more before it's over.
We play for about four hours. Up and down and all around.....finally Mrs. m hits her second progressive royal for the trip....it was around $300...fogot to take a photo..... Her totals are now around $800. It's 2:00 am and she is ready for bed as we have to get up at 5:30......me not so much. I'd like to play a bit more, but we really should say our good-byes to the triple plays. They've been good to us this trip. Over $1000 in royals, over 70,000 in points and we almost made it to Sapphire level.
So we depart my beloved triple plays and I make a deal with Mrs. M.....cash in your winnings, give me $20 of it and we'll stop once it is gone.....deal.
Hit the 99.8% quarter BDW games and played a bit....made $50 in about ten minutes. Took my ticket, walked about twenty fee and put it in the triple play DDB quarters. This will be it. If I get up over $100 I'll cash out and go home. If not, I'll take my final $20 loss and do the same.
Finally after about an hour of up and down play I throw in towel at 3:30....got to get up at 5:30 to check out and head home
On check out they ask me for my credit card....I said everything should be taken care of. She said yes, but
my room had a credit on it and needed to be put back on the card.....as we had paid for 1 night deposit.
Have to say this was one of the best trips we've had...of course it always feels good to come home with cash from Vegas.
