VP Progressive & Comp Quest 2012 @ The Orleans Final Day

Great trip! Thanks for taking the time to include us. I've played the TP nickel progressives at the Orleans for years and have seen the progressive as high as $11,000 - husband & wife teams were playing 24/7 until it hit.

I've hit the dealt royal progressive at my local casino 4 times, $2900, $3850, $5760, and $9700. I was sitting next to a guy who hit one for $13,000 at Terribles Las Vegas a couple years ago as well. Lots of fun for not much investment.

I enjoy the Orleans alot but do prefer the Flamingo, CET treats me better over the long run. The Orleans will always be a home for me tho...glad you enjoyed it as well.

This was right up there with some of the best trip reports I've ever read. I wish I had your stamina at the video poker machines. It's nice to see someone have an expectionally great time without having to spend $800 per day on food, rooms, and shows.

It's nice to play a large progressive machine and still come out ahead even without hitting the large progressive. It makes playing much more exciting knowing that there could be a big payoff but even though you didn't get it at least you dind't lose big trying to get it.

Also meeting people at the machines can also be half of the fun of playing.

You've got the COMP and coupon system down to a science. This takes quite a bit of planning and work but it typically pays off with results.

RFinally glad to see that you were able to recoup the stolen slot play coupons by having kept good records of teh transaction. What a creep the guy was that pulled them from your back pocket.

Thanks for all teh effort it took to write the reports.

I also wish I had your stamina on the video poker machines. I can't play for more than an hour or two without having to stop due to back and shoulder pain and eye strain. This is much worse on upright machines. I play mostly FPDW so my places are Sam's Town, Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch, where they have the slant tops.

What fun and winning trips are always the best. I too was impressed with your stamina at the VP after a while I tend to zone out and lose concentration.

I was surprised that they gave you 60 off on the buffet with points. When I pay at the Gold Coast buffet with points they just give me the dollar off. Thanks for the info also on the champagne brunch sounds like a winner.
Siwst852,
I just went back and looked at my bill and receipts. You are correct. They gave me the $1 and then paid w/ points. After that we just started charging it to the room & had it comped. I guess we should have done that in the first place.
Ecellent trip report. Great job spending 5 days in Vegas for a great price. You cats really got around and did Vegas !
Great Trip Report !!!!!!! (all days)

........ and those food pics were awesome.

The Orleans is our "home base".
We love it there and always have a great time.

Thanks for taking the time to write and post.

And the Royal Flush streak continues.....we stopped by the Kansas City Ameristar to run a little $$$ through to see what kind of offers we might get for Vegas (MGM's M LIfe has teamed up with Ameristar w/ offers). Mrs. M and I had just been playing 40 minutes when she hit our 4th Royal this month!!!!
