wayne with notes

i was flying out of milwaukee thursday pm 5-28-16. looked at southwest for wednesday evening and
price was right. went on line days before and saw i could leave wed am. who deserves it
more than me.

southwest out of milwaukee 2:00 pm wed. flight was good. arrived in las and hit the liquor library
for a bottle or beefeaters. went to silverton pick-up at zero level. shuttle came within 1/2 hour. i was early.

got to silverton. first time here. i try to stay at a new place when i am here.

check in was good. room was good. a bit of a walk but that doesn't bother me.
bought myself a beefeaters and went downstairs.

it's supper wisconsin time. twin creeks has a happy hour. the bar was full, so i was seated
in their restaurant. i ordered surf and turf, which was a large scallop and a nice piece of
new york filet with spinach on the side. one gin martini with blue cheese olive. $20 with tip.

then as we all know it we are all hyped up our first night i played good vp, craps, and bj. lost at everything. i still kick myself for losing the most at the place i am not being comped at. -630

more to come. five day trip.
up and attem thurs morning. went to breakfast at their cafe. $16 for whatever I had.
I've lost enough here, so time to sit by the pool. smallish but okay. you can get sun if you want.

time to visit the bass pro shop. massive place. stuffed animals all over. i saw the biggest handgun
i've ever seen. thought about buying some throwing knives but hadn't had a drink yet.

it's lunch time. i "won" a meal on my play yesterday. good food. they have a station with
steaming vegetables. peppers, onions, zicchini, etc. haven't seen that before.

went to see the fish tank. the rays were being fed, a lot of families watching.
i did not get to see the mermaids. wrong day and wrong time.

i was going to take the shuttle back to the airport to take the rental shuttle to pick up
my car from dollar. side note. i saved $90 waiting 24 hours for my car.

anyway...barry the shuttle driver said he'd take me to the rental center since i was the only passenger. tipped him well.

not even five minutes i'm in my car.

i don't take a lot of cash to vegas. i'm a chase customer. put funds in the day before. i looked
for chase locations and found one a few miles away...so i thought. could not find it. my fault. i remembered last year where i went to one up on saraha. made first withdrawal.

drove to and checked in at M. whoever gave me this offer will be fired. two nights, buffet, and cash.
checked in at 4:00. this is my favorite off the strip property. i found myself smiling as i walked in.

nice room. first time i haven't had a strip view. got ice. celebratory martini.

went to the hostile grape for a drink. it's happy hour. love happy hours. gin martini with
calamari app. very tasty. could not eat it all. not very busy. i like this place.

up to play vp. lost $300 in short order probably at the beer bar. they have a nice
selection of brews.

lost enough to play in the slot tourney. took machine #16 since it's my family's lucky number. all four of us were born on the 16th. nope. not even close.

think i played some more but no notes. up to the room beddy-bye.

oh. yesterday 5-9-16 i received my 2016 eating las vegas. i'm not a shill. if you're
into food, this is a nice read. $9 with postage.

back to your regular messages.
Thanks for the reports so far and sorry to read about all of your losses! And yes, it's likely that I would not play much at a place where I would not be comped at (unless I wanted to start up a future relation with them). Or, I would possibly have lower playing session loss limits for each session at a place where I didn't necessarily want to have future offers from.
it's friday. this is my longest solo trip. 5 nights 6 days. i felt guilty for about a day.
who deserves this more than me!!

still at the M. did i say i really like this place. oh. no hangover from the beer bar
last night. i must be getting old.

up and out and downtown by 10:00 am. was a big shot and valeted at el cortez.
i have stayed here and like it. cheap, good gambling, and if you stay you can find
good food.

started walking west. no one on the flyover yet. walked through golden nugget and the pool was
packed. i wouldn't find that something i'd want to be sitting at. went to dupars for the
shrimp cocktail. to me it's not worth it.

walked through the area in front of hogs and heifers...they're not open this early.
there were several middle-aged gents with tricked out bicycles. a couple and their daughter
passed me and said interesting. i said, no, kind of creepy.

walked to main street. this is a favorite of mine. was going to have lunch at the 7's bar
but not hungry yet. i did hit my first something with a straight flush on the 5 cent machine.
oh yeah!!

left and went to the 4 queens to the chicago pizza bar. had one beer and a chicago stuffed
pizza. too much for me but had to eat.

my friend joe came in last night and was staying at the westgate. he was golfing today
and asked if i wanted to play. i thought about it but decided not to since i didn't want to waste
5/6 hours of my vegas time golfing. glad i didn't. he was supposed to golf at 9:00 but it was
changed to 11:30. this was the perfect vegas weekend. 90's and no humidity. no thanks.

walked through westgate. the super book looks great. packers were only 9-1 to
win the superbowl. later bet them 11-1 at the M.

joe was golfing, so i left and was going back to the M and did a u-turn and went to mandybay. parked in
their self park. it was early. no problems.

played bp and hit four 5's for my second "pay" this trip. i walked through the shops at mandy.
pete rose was at some store, i see him every trip.

geez, this is a long day.

went back to the M and went to the pool. it was very windy where the seat cushions were
flying all around. a couple were trying to get married outside and had to move the
ceremony to an out of the wind location i think they were ok.

as i said before, my stay had one free buffet. oh, look. it's friday seafood night.
i was surprised they didn't charge the extra. i'm ashamed that i was there for about an hour.
i had crab legs which i don't normally eat. probably won't again. too much work. i was
in the minority as people had billions of them on their plates. you know they will serve more!!

done eating and played .25 bp. hit four 5's again. now i'm only down a grand. not too bad
for the rooms i have and the perks.

tired but not gambling i walked through the casino. watched a woman turn $50 into
$600 on a buffalo machine. she was very excited. good for her.

long day. in the room at 10:00.

Thanks for your day two report -- and most especially for your Downtown LV report. Did you use any LVA MRB Coupons (or did you use them earlier in the year)?

There is something to be said about a mostly solo trip with all of the freedom a person can have with doing what s/he wants when s/he wants.

I'm happy that you now got some nice VP hits but sorry you're still down so much $ (although I know that you say that that's not too bad from what you have gotten out of the casinos -- at least so far).

At Main Street Station, the "Score With Four" promotion where you can get a Scratch Card for hitting a 4 Of A Kind or Higher (which includes the Straight Flush and Royal Flush) is applicable even on a Nickel machine -- although the scratch card is for $1, but it is something that can be added onto the game's return.

I'm happy to read that you had such nice weather (except for the winds which can be pretty bad there and which I really don't like having to deal with).

And yes, I think that it's good that you didn't waste precious LV time Golfing if you're not that into it (although it might be a good way to cut down on $ losses since you wouldn't be playing). At least you still got some good walking done between walking all over Downtown LV plus elsewhere. There definitely is some good walking done while moving around LV. I always urge anyone going there to make sure to bring some good comfortable walking shoes since it's likely that plenty of walking will be done.

It definitely is good to be in LV with other friends (which can definitely make a trip even better) and so I'm happy for you that you could meet up with a friend while in LV.

Now looking forward to reading about your continuing adventures!
I love the M. I never stay anymore but go for the senior spa day. Have you tried Marinellis?
You seemed to do quite a bit glad you enjoyed your solo time.
"Who deserves it more than me?" Love that philosophy...so true.

Really enjoying your TRs. Beefeaters is good for a nice G&T. Making me thirsty reading about yours.

As for crab legs, I remember (1970s) when King Crab Legs were for real. Huge, not the puny little ones they put out there now. But they are the draw at a buffet. I figure folks must never have experienced the real thing. You are right...too much trouble for small shards of crab.

i'll try this again. i had half of this done last night and hit
the magic buttons that made it all go poof out into who knows where.
too bad. i was rather pithy and witty and wise. now you get the end
of the weekend report.

anyway.

saturday check out of M. have i mentioned how i reallllly like this place? also,
last night was my last good night's sleep for the trip.

drove to harrahs. valeted the car and headed to the front desk. it's 10:00 a.m.
I asked if my room might be ready. i knew it wasn't but i have to be me. i was
told that it actually was but i couldn't check in until after 12:00. that's fine by me.
i checked my bag at bell hop and started my wandering.

first went to casino royale for the $1 mich. just one. then walked south to the
linq alley. whatever harrahs has done over the years to get a gazillion dollars in debt
they hit a home run with this. nice collection of shops, bars, entertainment. (exact opposite
with what they did in front of Bally's. what a mess.)

after the ling i went to my newest, bestest, diviest bar. guess? of course, the stage bar.
this is great. found a seat at a vp machine at the bar and put in a 20. the bartendress said
full play. i know. hit play and all the buttons stuck. couldn't cash out. couldn't do nothing.
ordered my beer from a very nice looking dark haired girl who i am sure could kick my butt. sigh...
they couldn't even shut my machine down to get my 20 back. finally the right screwdriver did
the trick. moved to another machine and actually won $5.

left and walked through westin. i read they closed their casino. there weren't a lot of people
gambling when i walked through.

i don't have it in my notes but i'm sure i went to ellis island as i was that close. i'm sure i had a
beer. i think i got a new card and gambled. no notes. what's next in my notes is as i walked
back to the strip there's a large building with Scientific Gaming on it just east of Ballys. what is it?

walked through ballys and went back to harrahs to check in. found out i'm now gold. really don't
care. i still get rooms. if i don't i'll go somewhere else.

room 1003. this will be bad at night.

walked to casino royale for another $1 beer.
walked back to harrahs looking for Tom who is a bartender at harrahs. he worked in the
sports book but is now at the main bar at the food court. this suits him. he is very personable.
the food court is another thing harrahs did right. it's open, clean, with a nice variety.

had a beer and lost at vp(just assume I lost at anything I played). suppertime. I walked over
to Batisttas(sp) Hole in the Wall. I didn't name it. for a table it was at least an hour wait.
I was by myself so sat at the bar. ordered the lasagna with.....water. it was fine and filling.
i like to cook, so no sauce is as good as your own. place was packed.

of course i went to stage door as it's right next door. did you know that you can get a jager for $3, a
beam for $4, and a petron for $5? plus a pabst for $1? of course it's petron and pabst for me.

left here and walked to caesars as i have absinthe tix for the late show. lost $50 doing something.
got seated for the show. i like the venue. liked the show 60 yes 40 no. the feats of strength and
precision were fine. it's the stupid junior high penis, fuck, vagina talk all throughout that made
me nuts. i know they WARN you they're over the top. okay. the first time or two i can understand,
but the rest of it just means they don't have someone to give them some material to carry the show.
i would not see this again nor recommend it.

back to stage door for the petron and pabst. another bartendress was falling out of her top.
this one i think i could take. i was the old guy there.

back to ellis island. won $6.25 from my LVA coupon. listened to karoake for a bit. some were really
bad. one guy was really good. had steak and eggs at 1:00 a.m. and then back to the room at
harrahs.

carnival court was in full party mode. my room is right above the pools which are right next
to the party. the music but mostly the bass was not soothing. i think it ended at 3:00 a.m.

i knew i did more. just found some notes. after westin i did walk to ellis island. used my
coupon and hit them for $15. had the tacos at juliou's. they were fine. there was a wedding
party walking through. yes, the bride wore white.

left and went back to walk the strip. went first through the cosmo. this is a nice place. i should
play here to see what i can get. next walked to bellagio. looked at the vp tables and the
baccarat bar had the same $1 7/5 bp. played here. $200 martini.

walked back to harrahs and it now is time to go the Absinthe, which a day latter i still wouldn't
recommend.

I saw i was in the room at 2:00 am with all the noise. I didn't drink enough to drown it out.

sunday coming up.

Enjoying your report! I am another who didn't care for Absinthe for the same reasons you stated - junior high vulgar talk! I am jealous you stayed at the M - it's on my bucket list. Have wanted to check out the Hostile Grape! Sorry about your first night loss - HATE a losing start to the trip! Gail
Thanks for more reporting. Sorry to read from you how bad Absinthe is although I haven't had much interest in seeing any shows recently.

Sorry about your additional losses. I think that the only MGM connected place that has at least one not bad VP game is Circus-Circus for 8/5 Bonus Poker With Progressives.

And sorry to read about the messed up machine at Stage Door.

Also sorry for you that your Harrah's room is right by all of the nightly party noise.

Now looking forward to your further reports.
