Thanks for your detailed and entertaining trip report! A few observations (my three cents, due to inflation):
1) You seem to have had a disappointing number of mediocre meals (and some good ones, of course). My memories of when I lived in Vegas about 20 years ago are that pretty much every place we dined out was good to excellent; we surmised that because of all the casino food bargains, a non-casino reataurant had to be high quality and high value just to survive. Maybe now, that's not the case?
2) While you did post a -$630 loss, that seems to be pretty much what you might expect when the royal flush gods snub you. (I had a -$1700 weekend once playing .25 Deuces.) And...you did get $250 worth of Wally cards to soothe your pain (I assume that the abovementioned loss didn't factor that in). Sometimes, the value of a casino promo is that of a band-aid to treat the bleeding and mitigate a loss.
3) Good on you for getting regular exercise (though maybe a wee bit too much in your wife's case). It's all too easy to spend too much time vegetating in front of the machines.
I'm afraid that your trip report kinda reinforces my decision to cancel my planned Christmas trip. Though if I develop a hankering for bighorn sheep...
4.5 claps for your report!
