Now if only they'd start shooting hoosiers who needlessly add "The" in front of some casino names.

It's not The Bellagio, it's Bellagio.   It's not THE Venetian, just Venetian    And, obviously, it's not THE Caesars Palace...

The Mirage is the only one with THE in the name.

I've always wondered how "The" got into every casino name (colloquially).

My theory is that since so many of Vegas's visitors come from Southern California (especially in the good old days), and SoCal people refer to their freeways as "The 405" or "The 110," maybe it's a verbal tic when giving directions...?

I never heard it referred to as "The Circus Circus," though...maybe it should have been "The Circus! The Circus!"

And given that every casino in Vegas has a unique name, the use of "The" in that context is redundant and incorrect. Specificity already exists.

Great trip report and photos, details, etc.

Being a movie freak I really appreciate the photo of the Corleone place from Godfather II.  "Michael" (Al Pacino) gets what he ultimately deserved in the end (G III), but I digress.

Again, thanks for the effort you put into this TR.
