Listen my friends and I will relate the story of a really fun trip. It started out quite simply by my husband and I looking at each other and deciding we wanted to go to Vegas just to gamble. I know that sounds funny. Last trip we brought friends with us. They put $10 into a poker machine, and cashed out $10 after just a few hands. We had a good time showing them the sights and visiting Zion National Park, but did not get to gamble very long. 10 minutes is not my idea of a gambling session.
A quick phone call to MSS and our rooms were booked and comped. Then it was just a matter of waiting for Sunday to arrive. Ever notice how long the wait is when your Vegas trip is planned?
The first stop on our journey was at Kingman. Not to gamble quite yet, but for the Rock show.
Some of the vendors we knew from other shows. Made the stop quite fun. Talked about polishing apache tears with one vendor, exchanged silversmithing laughs with another. Bought lots of rocks. That is probably why the vendors are so friendly to us.
Then on to Las Vegas. We had an offer for 3 times points on video poker at Feista Rancho. We had read the reports about the new machines that pay almost full pay. John has always loved bonus poker deluxe. The new machines were easy to find. My first 4 of a kind came in the first few hands, just playing quarters, but $100 is a nice way to start. John wasn't doing as well. His money was slowly but surely decreasing, so he changed games. Bonus poker started giving him lots of two pairs and three of a kinds. About an hour into our session, he poked me to show me his machine. He had increased his bet to dollars and hit 4 aces . After our first stop I was up about $150 and John was up $500. Way to begin a trip.
Next stop was Main Street Station. Our room was great. We need a handicap room with room for John's scooter. We are quite comfortable there. Sunday night we hit enough 4 of kinds to keep our winning tide going. We ate at the 777 brewclub and called it an early night.
Monday we started out at the full pay double bonus machines. That is what I play most of the time at MSS. John and I have a contest to see who can get the most 4 of a kinds. Since MSS gives a scratch off ticket for each 4 of kind we just count them each day. It was a great day, lots of scratch offs. It even dealt 4aces. Later in the day I played some dueces wild and got dealt 4 2s.
Recvplayer was over at the Vegas Club. We met and David showed me a fun blackjack game. I even won a bit. Thank you David for a pleasent time, it was great meeting you.
Some of our friends from Mesa came to Vegas at the same time. One of our friends sat next to John and I for a bit. I hit 4 aces on DB. John hit 4 aces playing super aces bonus. Our friend just lost, so of course we took him and his wife out for supper at the 777 brewclub. Had the paleale beer battered shrimp. Wonderful. Then back to the machines. John hit 4 aces playing super aces again, then a 3rd time.
John ended up winning our contest and getting more scatch offs then I did. I was thrilled with my winnings, but John ended up way ahead of me. Great trip when we both win. We ended up being $3,000 ahead without hitting a royal flush. Next trip though I want a royal too.
