My Best Buys show has been a weekly show for about the last six years, and that is in addition to my Infomercial business and I probably have about six hours of Infomercials running weekly around the the country.
We tested a Vegas Best Buys show on the Fox station in Vegas about three years ago, and we pulled the plug on it after three weeks because there just weren't enough advertisers to support it. We still have the website www.vegasbestbuys.com but you will only see the old videos and some text about coming back but to be honest I don't think we ever will.
If you travel one block off the Strip the Vegas economy is still depressed. Even the latest housing report shows that the price of single family homes is now only about 50% of what the peak prices were.
I talk to business owners frequently in LV and they all tell me that business continues to be very rough and they are barely hanging on. Salaries are down, people are afraid to spend, there is no money for home improvements or home upgrades (home improvement is my biggest category of advertisers) and while home sales and prices are higher they are still depressed.
What's worse is that I can't even find sales people to approach businesses about advertising. A few have tried but after a day or two of making sales calls they quit after running into too many brick walls.
