10,000 Syrian Refugees

Whatsoever you do for the least of my brothers and all of that.

DonDiego commends billryan, his church, and all the families contributing to this voluntary effort to assist this immigrant family.
Such heartfelt activities can only make the world a better place.
Europe is regretting letting in the refugees as they are dealing with their high crime rate. As highlighted, the Syrians are here on the govt teat.

Weren't we told that it would take a year to vet them? So how did 10,000 people come here in less than a year?

The refugee problem was caused by bama's inept foreign policy (the red line)

I'm trying to figure out where you got that impression. It seems that right-wingers here are much more likely to be takers.

  • I'm not on Social Security like BobOrme.
  • I'm not on Medicare like DonDiego. And was there ever a time in his adult life he wasn't supported by a government check? Same with his wife I think. Not me.
  • I'm not receiving hundreds of thousands (millions?) of dollars in federal medical benefits like jatki.
  • I'm pretty sure a substantial part of the hoops family income comes from being a public employee.
  • I'm not getting subsidized Obamacare like a lot of people here. (My employer paid insurance is untaxed compensation, a form of subsidy though.)
  • I don't have a fictional residence in another state to avoid taxes like CowboyKell.
  • I'm not working in a field that is heavily subsidized with tax breaks, like YOU.
  • I've never stiffed my creditors, including the federal and state governments, by declaring bankruptcy like all of the above's favorite candidate.

And I'm assuming most of the above attended public schools, and in Campion's case, even more expensive special education classes. But Donald Trump has made it okay to be on the government dole, right? As long as you're a real American!
  • One of DonDiego's terrifying terrorists - maybe coming to a town near you. Run for your lives and pee your pants!

    i. Hmm, . . . no one within this thread mentioned anything about terrorists, . . until pjstroh. By the way the child pictured is older than some previous suicide bombers; many parts of the world are less "civilized" than the USA.

ii. For the record the youngster, Omran Daqneesh, sustained his injuries when his house in the City of Aleppo was bombed by Russian/Syrian aircraft. He had no previous record of terrorism. DonDiego still sees no good reason for the US pursuing removal of Bashar Hafez al-Assad, the President of Syria, a factor in the ongoing military activity. Of course, poor old DonDiego never saw a good reason for removing Muammar Gaddafi, the Prime Minister of Libya, and in the process destroying an entire country, . . . but what does DonDiego know?

iii. Since pjstroh broached the subject of terrorists, . . . DonDiego predicts if The Hillary succeeds in bringing 620,000 Syrian refugees into the USA some of them will, in fact, harbor ill intentions against the USA and its citizenry, possibly to be resolved through terrorist acts.
Significant vetting of likely emigrees is difficult in war-torn semi-civilzed areas of the world.
Say the US Government knows there are 2 guys named Muhammed Muhammed, one in Damascus and one in Palmyra, applying for US citizenship. When the US "vetters" arrive at the Government office in-country and ask to see the records of Muhammed Muhammed, the clerk is not going to respond: "Do you mean the Muhammed Muhammed in Damascus or the Muhammed Muhammed in Palmyra." A more likely response is "Good Luck with that !"

  • __DonDiego would've declined participation in Medicare; the Government requires citizens to participate as a condition of employment. Poor old DonDiego supposes the costs born by Medicare in treatment of his recent cancer more than exceeded all the Medicare payments deducted from his paychecks over his entire life.
DonDiego would thank past, present, and future taxpayers for their kindness, . . . but they also had no choice in providing for his medical expenses.

__DonDiego's initial part-time employment commenced at the age of 15, post puberty. The checks came from a local small businessman, not the Government.

__DonDiego's 3½-years of military service were not his idea; the Government made him an offer he could not refuse.

__DonDiego's Summer employment between college semesters was with the Bethlehem Steel Corporation [BSC], not the Government. The BSC no longer exists, a victim of more efficient steel-makers elsewhere in the world. A few remnants of the plant where DonDiego worked remain rusting along the banks of the Lehigh River; dreams of civic projects on the site languish from lack of funds.

__DonDiego's career choice involved working on defense systems of the US military; Government funds are ultimately the primary source for developing such items.
As poor old DonDiego occasionally reminds interested readers, if any, there are some activities in which the Government is the appropriate agency - e.g. establishing a system of justice, providing for the common defense, and promoting the general welfare of the Country. DonDiego suggests the Country would be better served if Government functions were significantly more limited than they presently are.

forky seems very interested in our lives - kind of creepy. So what does forky do that allows him to stay on this site 24/7? I could have sworn that under one of his many aliases he said he was a retired govt worker who moved from Ca to NV.

I'm pretty sure a substantial part of the hoops family income comes from being a public employee. - WHILE MY WIFE WORKS FOR A LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, THE MAJORITY OF OUR INCOME COMES FROM ME & I AM CURRENTLY SELF EMPLOYED WORKING FOR SEVERAL COMPANIES & HAVING TO HUSTLE AROUND TO KEEP THE CASH FLOWING

I'm not getting subsidized Obamacare like a lot of people here. (My employer paid insurance is untaxed compensation, a form of subsidy though.) - WHO HERE GETS OBAMACARE?

I've never stiffed my creditors, including the federal and state governments, by declaring bankruptcy like all of the above's favorite candidate - TRUMP HAS NEVER DECLARED BANKRUPTCY OR STIFFED A CREDITOR - A LIE YOU KEEP REPEATING

Nope, never worked for the feds or any state - except I did work as a contractor for a state university briefly. And I've averaged about 3 posts per day and type 40 wpm, so there's that.
