Nice article, one of my favorite places to stay and play in Vegas
I loved the 4oak bonus scratch cards.
And Jose at the bar. He helped me drink through the alphabet

The MSS is my #1 casino/hotel!
Once or twice for the past 4 years.
I get comps in the mail.Usually 2 nights,but I stay for 4.
In March,it was Crystal and Oleg at the Boar's head. LOVE the 9/6 VP!

The Fremont is too smoky, even for me. No resort fees, but no in-room refer:Ice bucket time.
I won't stay at G.G. anymore.
I may do the MSS and The Plaza in October. The smarter choice would be The Cal.+ the MSS.

yes.... the Fremont is very smoky, stuffy, hot with it's low ceilings. and crowded / congested. especially when they are all clamored up to the bar for the drink specials.
thanks for the “10 reasons” series. keep ’em comin. I have not stayed there in a long time, but I have been staying a few nights a year at the Fremont, and maybe back to the Cal after remodel. I like seeing familiar faces as well. back in the spring I visited 777 during happy hour, I ordered the fried green beans, they were greasy but good, and enough for 3-4 people. I was alone. the buck-75 beers are great as well. if I never hear about the Berlin wall piece again, I will be alright. most all of the downtown joints still have the classic Vegas feel. I hope that lasts forever.
In regards to "1. The decor is gorgeous and unlike any other hotel in Vegas. As you….", if you go to lobby desk, you can ask for a tour of the second floor. A security guard will escort you to elevator.

That "secret" elevator is by the Main St. entrance and you can go up without an escort. The furnishings are roped off.

I just booked a quick trip to MSS in June, mostly based on this thread. lol. Is the JoB at the bar really 9/6? can't wait to get there. Let me know if I can do anything for anyone while I'm there....
