10 Reasons Why I Love The Plaza

This week's article....

10 Reasons Why I Love the Plaza
The main reason people leave the Plaza is because the good employees get job offers from other casinos.
Don't forget...The Plaza has the only Bingo downtown! You know you've made it when you're drinking beer from a plastic cup in the Plaza Bingo Parlor.
they have a a slot tournament for $10 or you can use your points. several sessions on wed/thur/fri I believe. it is worth it. it is a great thing to do when you have spent your gambling budget for the day. the top 5 winners get free play and the next 5 get entered into a drawing to spin the wheel for a prize. and who don’t love a game with a wheel spin!
also, I have always liked their outside lights / theme.

The only time I ever was supposed to stay at the Plaza, the check-in line was pretty long and a suit was walking up and down offering free rooms at The Vegas Club to anyone willing to walk across the street. I did, and from then until it closed, I got great room offers from the VC. I haven't been in the Plaza since it remodeled.
Once I'm settled inliving here, I'll take advantage of that one time rebate they offer.
We stayed at the Plaza once, right after it was "remodeled", which in resality was the fire sale furniture from the Fontainblue. It was OK, price was right as was the room. Only bitch would be the outlets were in odd places. I'd stay again.
Oh yea, the bathrooms were teeny tiny, had to "adjust" to be able to shut the door. Awkward.
Great read Blonde. Another thing that I like about Plaza is their sports book which might be the biggest sports book downtown. The have some theater type seats which are very comfy. The book is run by William Hill. The hotel has 2 towers and if you can get the north tower it is close to the registration desk which means less walking. I ask for the north tower but I'm always given the south tower where I have to walk across the entire casino floor to get to the elevators. Maybe the north tower is for higher tiered members, not sure though, but the rooms in the south tower are fine. I had a room in the south tower once which had a nice view of the strip. If only Plaza would do away with its resort fee and follow the Cal, MSS, Fremont, and 4 Queens with no resort fee that would be nice. Another thing that the Plaza is missing is a buffet. They had a buffet years ago but not sure what took its place. Oh and Plaza has 2 keno nickel progressive machines (4 coin max) that pays $64,000 for 10 out of 10 numbers by the casino cage/restrooms. It's a nice poor-man's keno game which offers a chance to hit a nice payout.
It is starting to sound like we have more than 10 reasons to like the Plaza. who knew? as pointed out by surf87 the sports book could be great if you are into that. if you are with a large group of friends, you would have the run of the place so to speak. it is large for downtown, kind of in a wide-open space, not congested. it is probably just a matter of time before they cram some kind of noise factory next to it.
