$15 Dollar Minimum Wage Passed In California And New York

billy is misrepresenting; I know the neighborhood as I played ball over there for years. The armory has been closed for 10 years, the fence is falling down and surrounded by weeds. The so called neighborhood people were the Borough pres' groups. The latest proposal is for an ice hockey center (the SB is certainly a hotbed of hockey) which has received the support of the BP.
Is this like how Obamacare was supposedly going to kill jobs. Now that was funny.

We went from a project that was going to create 1,200 permanent jobs plus the construction jobs to no jobs.

Nah...It's more like "If you like your job at $10.00 an hour, you can keep your job at $15.00 an hour."

Liberals buying votes. Their age old program of saying "If you vote for me, I'll take money from someone who earned it, and give it to you."

California’s law, which is expected to benefit millions of workers, will raise the base wage over the next six years, reaching $15 an hour by 2022.

This is a great issue for Democrats in an election year. All they have to do is ask at every rally, “Do you think you are worth less than someone living in California or New York? Do those liberals outwork you?” It will help the down ticket.

" We"? I had no idea you were involved with this. Sit on a Bronx community board, per chance? The people of the neighborhood had no interest in a mall with Big Box Stores that would have been the death knell to the surrounding neighborhood shops, and provided nothing but minimum wage jobs.
You have it backwards, the Bronx President, and the City Council, as well as about 95% of the Community Boards of The Bronx, Queens and Manhattan supported the people of the neighborhood. The new plan provides funding for new parks, donates space for a new school and is giving the people and students of the area free recreational facilities, as well as giving ice time to groups that cant afford it. More importantly, it leave the Armory's exterior, one of the most dramatic in the city intact.

On the other hand, Republican mega-donors NEVER ask for anything in return!

The biggest travesty of this action is it will remove countless people off the food stamp program....which means Hoops' arsenal of complaints will be reduced to "golf" and "black-on-black violence".
Not if people are losing jobs because their employer can't afford to pay them $15
