I think a lot of families will be surprised when they find they are making too much money to qualify for medi-cal, food stamps, subsidized housing, etc. It will raise the cost of everything. Just a dog chasing its tail. The ones who will be hurt are those on fixed incomes.

I'm pretty sure the whole idea is to pay people a wage that allows them to get off Government subsidies.

A restaurant owner making over $100K who sees his income cut in half because of the new law will just close and take a job as a manager for a large chain. I thought it was 10 employees or less?

It's 26 employees or less...and they are not exempt...the wage phase in for them just starts a year later.

DonDiego cannot comprehend what kind of house $1,000,000 would buy up heh' in Appalachia, . . . but he supposes it'd have indoor plumbing, a gas-stove (no need for the ash bucket), a fancy-eatin' room, and a cement pond out back.

Boiler believes that the idea should be to pay Wendy's workers $100,000 per year. After all, those folks will pay more taxes.
