Because there's millions of unskilled workers who wish to work, but can't find a job, and are no longer counted as unemployed..............yet they are unemployed. The neverending influx of unskilled Labor streaming across our Southern border is much of the cause of this. That, and an unfriendly American business climate created by Obama and friends.
Certainly neither party has had the balls to address illegal immigration, and the Republicans have only done a marginally better job in creating a friendly business environment. If Trump builds a wall, and he gets the Federal government out of the way, the economy will prosper. At that point, the American workforce will stop shrinking, and then begin to grow again.
