20,000 petition for armed GOP Convention.

Not one of those candidates is going to feel good about getting on stage with an audience packed with guns...especially if the convention aims to displace the frontrunner from the nomination. But this is the NRA sponsored philosophy that Republicans have been bribed to concede to. Everybody is safer when everybody is armed, right?

Lets watch them sweat bullets (pun intended) and weasel out of this one. I predict this petition will be utterly rejected...even as candidates like Ted Cruz blast any and all constraints their opponents want to put on guns. They're position is going to be alot more like their gun-grabbing, liberal friends when they find themselves in the line of fire. WATCH

An armed Republican convention is a polite Republican convention.

If one locks one's unloaded handgun in an appropriate locked secure container, suitcase, etc, and one carries one's ammunition in a different container, and one declares one is transporting a handgun, transportation on commercial carriers, including airlines, is legal. If one is driving, similarly locking one's handgun in an appropriate container in one's trunk is adequate.

"Open Carry. Ohio’s concealed carry laws do not regulate “open” carry of firearms. If you openly carry, use caution. The open carry of firearms is a legal activity in Ohio."

n.b. DonDiego offers the above information solely to clarify the question raised as to how out-of-staters would get their guns to Cleveland, "The Mistake by the Lake". DonDiego neither endorses nor opposes the plan for an armed convention.

My son, who carries a gun here in Indiana, explained a funny story over the weekend. While open carry is legal, he chooses to conceal. Sometimes, however, he moves in a fashion which causes his gun to become visible, and this happened Saturday. A lady in the mini-mart proclaimed quite loudly, "That white boy's gotta gun."

Is that a racist comment? Boiler doesn't think so.

30k armed, angry people in the room when its announced the frontrunner they voted for is not going to be the nominee.

It might be a good idea to scotch guard the carpets ahead of time.

Guns scare people who've never been around guns.

According to who?

The Secret Service says people attending the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this July will not be allowed to carry guns.

The statement comes in response to a petition that calls for allowing open carry of guns inside Quicken Loans Arena, the host venue.

The petition has amassed more than 43,000 signatures as of Monday morning.

Secret Service spokesman Robert Hoback said in a statement that “only authorized law enforcement personnel” working with the agency will be allowed to carry firearms inside protected areas.
