Don't that just figure. I'll be in Kentucky the weekend you'll be in Denver for the Broncos/Steelers game. I was hoping I could offer you and teechur a personal guided tour of the casinos in Black Hawk and Central City during your visit. Oh well...
You will find many Steelers fans at that game, so if you bring terrible towels or wear Steelers colors, you won't be alone.

DonDiego thanks BobOrme for the theoretical offer of a tour of Casino Country in Colorado; it would've been pleasant to meet and guidance with a local is often useful and efficient.

DonDiego feels the need to correct an apparent misperception. He is not a Steelers fan; he is an Eagles fan. For the record, unlike many Eagles fans, DonDiego does not bleed green; in fact, whenever possible DonDiego conducts himself in a fashion so as to minimize bleeding altogether. And teechur hates the Steelers, because they stole SuperBowl Rings from her Cardinals' fingers.

When traveling to distant NFL stadia here's the teechur/DonDiego dress code:
__If it is a Cardinals game teechur and DonDiego wear Cardinals regalia.
__If it is an Eagles game teechur and DonDiego wear Eagles colours.
__If neither the Cardinals or the Eagles are competing, teechur wears Cardinals gear and DonDiego wears Eagles gear. This often aids in initiating conversation with fans who are allied with both of the competing teams.
__If the Cardinals are playing the Eagles teechur adorns herself in finery displaying her allegiance to the NFL combatants of Arizona and DonDiego bedecks himself in the finest accoutrements honoring the NFL representatives of Philadelphia.

You and your bride will definitely draw stares of confusion from some folks in the crowd at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium. I'm also sure you will have a good time!

Oh no DD, I didn't mean to imply that you or teechur had anything to do with the steelers, the offer was meant to simply be a little good-natured ribbing. Actually I was pretty certain that teechur probably despised that last AZ PIT SB so I certainly didn't think she'd be interested in any such garb.

ANYWAY, HAPPY TRAILS GUYS

john
Although I kinda wish we had gone to a Colts game while Manning was there, I am excited that we will be going to the FIRST real game of the season at Mile High stadium and get to watch Manning's first game as a Bronco.

DonDiego and teechur are used to drawing stares of confusion when they go to the games...of course, when it gets too bad, DonDiego has ME walk ahead of him 10 paces or so, so as to stay out of the fray! lol...since I am usually the one "done up" in outlandish style. As long as no one throws anything at us, we're okay (and, yes, fans of opposite teams HAVE thrown things at us before!...after having a "few" beers, it's amazing how stupid and rude some fans can become...)

Provided we get game tickets, it looks like we are going to 3 games this year: Steelers @ Broncos, Eagles @ Pittsburgh, Eagles @ Saints. Due to the schedule, it doesn't look like we'll get to a Cardinals game this year...but that's okay, we'll get them next year. And....maybe by then....they'll have a QB!
Thanksgiving looks to be outstanding on paper.

The Lions play the Texans in the first game.

The Cowboys play the Redskins in the second game.

The Patriots play at the Jets for the night game.

Hey that's great, not the complete yawnfest it sure seems to have become the past oh so many years. All 3 games should be pretty decent games to watch, even dallas wash. At least they usually put up a pretty good game.

Hi jatki....

I have been keeping track of our stadium visits with a Word document (which I converted to a PDF and then to a JPEG so I can put it here for you to see). Anyway, forgive the size of the dots or precise locations...Word keeps getting messed up if I put text too close to art and vice-versa. I told DonDiego we had been to 16 (so that's what he posted); however, my map shows we've been to 18! Yahoo! (red dots=unvisited, blue dots=visited)

Very cool map teechur, what a great way to see different parts of the country. I see you guys haven't hit Pitt.,Cincy or Cleveland yet. I'd suggest skipping cincy amd cleveland and hitting pitt. three times. Seriously, when you finally make it to Pitt. you guys should stop by Primanti bros. for an original italian sandwich. The place is somewhat of a legendary local place there(google it) and its' been on several TV shows. Good stuff!

JOHN

Yo Homer (John), Cincy doesn't live in Riverfront anymore. So go to the new stadium while its still nice and clean. For DD and Teechur, if you hit Pittsburg first, take I-70W to I-75S and follow the signs to Paul Brown stadium.
Tony, actually I always liked riverfront stadium, saw many concerts there, including my first ever. My older brothers came to visit us and got tix to the eagles concert, mid 70's im guessing, and my mom made them take me, they weren't real happy about it. They didn't seem to mind stuffing my socks full of little kings to sneak inside for them tho, and my "reward" was they gave me one. It was The Eagles on their Hotel California tour I'm guessing? I do remember joe walsh pretty vividly, I thought he kicked butt.

And BTW, i was only doing a little good natured ribbing when suggesting they skip the 2 towns..man, can't any one take a joke anymore?

jatki99 may have noted that the Eagles@Steelers contest on 7 October has been added to the itinerary for teechur and DonDiego this season. Apparently the Primanti Brothers have done well, . . . with 17 locations in the Greater Pittsburgh area and 3 in Florida. DonDiego plans to ingest one of their offerings "topped with french fries, cole slaw, and tomatoes". DonDiego thanks jatki99 for the recommendation.

The Pittsburgh trip was decided on after the first two excursions when teechur thoughtfully noted that teechur and DonDiego still need to visit 14 NFL stadia and DonDiego only has "so many years left". By visiting 3 stadia each year, instead of 2, they can complete the "bucket list" in 5 NFL Seasons, instead of 7. DonDiego thanks teechur for this creative solution to the apparent senesence evermore on display by DonDiego.

John, np. I just figured DD should at least stop by Cincinnati and checkout the new stadium..

Yes, they still make little kings. Although I believe Paul Brown went to plastic bottles of Bud after the dog pound got nailed for tossing full bottles at the refs.

The Lions-Texans game could be a real shootout! I wish I could bet the over already.
