2016 NCAA FINAL FOUR BASKETBALL

it looks like I will be in town for that weekend (April 2-4). I will be staying downtown for 5 nights. I was just wondering what to expect as far as how busy or fun or whatever. or maybe it is not busy at all, other than the sports books. the event is in Texas. I would appreciate any comments, suggestions or thoughts.

thanks in advance!
I've been to downtown Vegas the weekend before The Final Four, and I didn't find it unusually crowded.

As an Indy area boy, I enjoyed that tournament weekend even more than normal since tiny Indianapolis based Butler beat #1 seed Syracuse, then #2 seed K State to advance the final four. Gordon Hayward (now with the Utah Jazz) was the Regional MVP for Butler, and he grew up in my town of Brownsburg.
I've done it once - and my work colleague goes every year for the tournament.

The Sportsbooks get crowded - Maybe not Superbowl-cowded but very crowded. There's no rule that requires you to hang out in a sportsbook. All the bars will be playing the games. Make your bet and pick your favorite bar to watch the games at. Rounds 1 & 2 are the most fun because of the number of games and all the upsets that occur.

I am not a huge sports bettor, but I will bet some, and my brother always sends money with me to make sports bets for him.

I'll be there that weekend, but not for NCAA basketball. The NHRA has a national event at LVMS April 1-3. I didn't know March Madness ends in April....
